What ROM recommend for the Moto G5 Plus version 2GB RAM
Oreo ROMs, Pie roms have memory issues. (Freezing, aggressive LMK settings, etc.)

I installed Arrow OS in my G5+ with 2 GB Ram, and I think that it's optimized for 4 GB Ram version (sometimes goes very fluid, but sometimes freezes so hard that I have to reboot). So, maybe if the LMK settings are the problem, adjusting them could help?
I have installed OmniRom 9 and it runs fast and smooth, games like PUBG run well, and I also have 2/32

Hey guys I'm pretty new to android roms etc etc I have a 512 mb gen 2 european blade that much i found out but i wanted to know whether there was a complete stockish rom with the latest kernel patches? I am running GSF now and it is fast and stuff but i would really like it to go faster with the latest kernels as it was updated quite some time back so i imagine it wont have the latest patches... any ROM without any cm7 mods and all just plain and simple stripped and modded stock with latest kernel mods like gpu axi uv etc ?
Try Swedish Snow : http://android.modaco.com/topic/350875-romgen2-swedish-snow-rls5-android-235/

U know the answer cm with tons of performance boosts and options
to be honest if you want your phone to go faster i would go with cyanogen mod 7 latest kang + wbaws kernel with GPU overclock
So the stock based ROMS arent the ones with the best performance..?okay and by latest kang which should i try?(i really dont want to overclock and things like that as it may damage the phone no?)
Err.. Cyanogen?
In my experience, cyanogen is one of the heaviest and slowest roms I've encountered, although that might just be me . It's filled with cool stuff and options though.
So far I've been hugely impressed with Elite Blade Rom:
It also has a stock looking ui, except for a sexy lock screen. It's very fast, and battery lasts f o r e v e r. Which is very important to me atleast.
Overclocking doesn't damage your phone, because it only lets you overclock to about 800mhz, and if it doesn't like that clock, it just crashes and goes to normal. Around 730mhz always worked for me, and battery life seems not to be affected.
Stock roms are like buying a new laptop, filled with user friendliness and sponsored apps. In other words; Mighty damn slow. So custom ones are definitely the way to go.
One down, nine to go!
By stock Roms i meant stock based modded roms but i agree thats what i thought was bad about cyanogen that it was real slow when i tried it once before i dont thats why understand how the KANGS will make a difference plus i want stock similar roms as there are no bugs not even minor ones for example in elite blade in landscape mode in the status bar the peeking android looks weirdly stretched and stuff the small things..are perfect in GSF.. if the KANGS can work faster then im willing to try that but preferably i want to know if there's a way to add the latest kernel patches or the latest kernel to GSF..?
Thanks for the replies guys
(Swedish Snow was nice but for some reason GSF still feels faster )
hmm ok i will help you out a bit after trying a lot of different roms available for the blade including ones not available on these forums since they are only Chinese based (im not chinese i just like to try out there roms).
Overclocking will not damage your phone mate because if you overclock your phone to a limit which is not supported by your phone it will simply reboot and put back the normal CPU settings for your phone to work in a proper manner (Do not tick set CPU settings in boot).
GPU overclocking is nothing to worry about because the GPU will overclock when you overclock the CPU (3D games experience on the ZTE Blade has improved)
As for other saying they find cyanogen mod 7 slow i do not know what version they flashed but i prefer to use CM7 Kangs developed by BurgerZ & Kernel developed by wbaw (both extremely talented devs).
The reason others may find CM7 slow is because they use ADW Launcher (free) by default but burgerz uses stock gingerbread launcher.
if you dont want to use CM7 my second fav rom for performance would be Swedish Snow
@ruckus92
i tried the rom when it was updated last, it was not bad neither good as the libs it uses need updating nowadays.
CyanogenMod is pretty bloated, but some kangs are not as bloated.
I find that Burstlam's kangs are pretty light and fast. I guess he must have gotten used to developing for Chinese blades (they only have 256 mb of ram)
You can find his latest build here.
I have tried the stock-based roms but didn't notice any major difference between them and Burstlam's rom.
And like Kannibalism said, ADW Launcher free is slow as heck. I suggest you switch to ADW Launcher EX, or a different launcher the next time you try a cyanogenmod rom.

nope no trouble mate just restore your backup
follow these steps:
1) take out the battery to turn off the phone
2) power on the phone holding the power button + volume down button (keep holding do not let go of these two buttons till cwm boots)
3) Clockwork recovery will boot up
4) select backup & restore
5) select the backup you want to use
6) wait for it to restore your data could take a few mins
thats all mate
Ah i was scared to death hehe thanks my phone's working fine now stable fast and smooth And what about squadzone's unofficial cm7.2 rc5.6 is that the latest kang?

A lot of thanks for you Dev,...
I always prefer your ROM on my device, especialy for the MIUI 7 version, it's bugless, good battery stat, nice performance, almost fix everything.
But sadly I must say not each time I flash the MIUI 8 builds, may be it's because the source itself, battery drains, and laggy,.
Even several days ago there was an update, I don't really sure if that really stable, but will you soon make an update based on that builds,..
Keep up Devs, waiting for your next update!!

For Pokémon GO:
Use a MIUI8 KK version + Jerrika MK Premier Finale (more RAM friendly. Lollipop ROMs are heavy to 1GB RAM)
A tip: Download GLTools XDA Version, and force on Pokémon GO these options:
- Optimize GSGL shaders
- Downscale textures (0,5x)
It reduces the RAM consumption a lot without much quality difference.
PS: Dont force 16 bit textures (it breaks the detailed vision of Pokémon and dont show CP).
I would like to know what do u prefere . Custom or stock . I can't flash arrise on any custom but stock don't have all the options from custom and don't have omni switch. But stock have 2 gb ram and custom only 1500.........
Any1 help ?
ram is not an issue at all, less is better. the more ram is free, the more apps are forced to close. the more ram is used, the more apps can keep running in the background.
stock is better, because all the custom roms have issues

I know that Huawei doesn't like custom. It will probably make your phone laggy. An example: I've installed the Xposed framework, and it was fine, for a day. After that all my apps started to crash upon opening them. The more I try to upgrade my phone, the worse it gets.

Stock.
But I'm using Vertex too and it has zero lags (except on startup, which is pretty obvious). Try installing Hellsgate kernel?
Also running VertexOS and not experiencing lag or app crashes. Even with extras like Xposed and GravityBox the ROM still runs fine. I'm on the 0918 build. Things are kind of broken on 0919 if I'm not mistaken.
I find Dark ROM to be very good. Quite smooth. Always performed well and don't recall any lag or delayed execution of apps.
There's no fastest ROM or best ROM for that matter. Just too many things that can affect how they run (configuration, kernel, apps, gapps, etc.).
ZTE Axon 7 A2017U, VertexOS Carbide-v3.6 ROM, Tapatalk 4.9.5
As you guys' recommendation, I've tried a lot of custom ROMs for Pxiel2 XL. For instance, Dirty Unicorn, Bootlegger家, Pixel Dust, Havoc and Crdroid.
Honestly, there is little difference between them. But I do believe I can pick the best one as my favourite one.
the most stable ROM: official ROM
the most smoothy ROM: Crdroid ROM
the best battery life ROM: Bootleggers ROM
what's your opinion towards the best ROM? please make comments below~
btw, I do you have the issue with RAM management? the free RAM for me is only below 1G after opening 4-5 apps, 'Android operate system' used the majority of the RAM.
My set up is Hacoc plus Kirisakura Kernel with kernel swap space increased from 512mb to 1024mb to negate most of the Ram problems . I've had this set up for about a month and don't see myself changing until Q is stable.

Can you talk more about "kernel swap space increased from 512mb to 1024mb to negate most of the Ram problems"? That sounds interesting. Is that set through a kernel manager?
Is this the ZRAM size? That's the only thing I see under the Memory Options in EXKM with 512mb.

Yes its under ZRAM. I was googling around for a Ram fix and came across a pixel 3 thread that stated that google patched the pixel 3's ram issue by increasing the swap size top 1024mb and decided to give it a shot. Low and behold my games now stay in memory , youtube, instagram, etc. I have 3 phones with the same chipset and neither device has worse Ram management than the pixel.

Cool, thanks for the info. Can you send screenshots or steps of how you did this? When I try to do it in EX Kernel Manager, it says it may take a while and ZRAM just sits at "stopping", but never gets past that. I'm on Elixr kernel w/ the LKT Magisk Mod installed, so that may have something to do with it.
I found scorpion rom while browsing AFH and it's pretty sweet. I keep going back to bootleggers though

I came across this Magisk Mod that does similar, but adjusts it automatically: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79099714&postcount=680. It's by the developer of LTK. On my Taimen it boosted my ZRAM to 1792MB.

you can carefully read the instruction again, the intro didn't say any about the conflict with custom kernel, one thing you might notice is that substratum is not allowed to use with NFS

I use FK to manage kernel settings. Do keep in mind that it does take time for the settings to get applied because zram turns off, dumps all zram (swap) to 0mb then restarts to apply the new setting, which is why it may seems like zram is hanging with a "stopping " message.
