I only just saw this thread so you have probably already figured it out so for anyone else out there here is the answer. once you re flash stock firmware through oden there is a security feature where the oem stays locked for 7 days. To bypass this you need to turn off auto date and time, then change your phone's date to 8 days ago. Then go into software update and check for an update, it will now say the last time you checked for an update is the date you set on your phone (8 days ago). Now restart your phone turn auto date and time back on and you will be able to unlock oem.

Yeah I completely read it wrong. Pretty sure you can't relock the bootloader though so I'm not sure if turning the oem option off will do to much?

A week ago I bought a used s7 edge. The original owner had done a factory reset. My first thing was to flash the latest local stock rom, bootloader, and modem. Then I installed TWRP and then rooted. All great. After a few days, I got tempted by the new Nougat betas.
OK, so now I've got a huge mess. I updated to the Minotaur 7.0 beta (nice rom) and got it nicely set up. I'm quite sure that I enabled OEM Updates in Developer Options. I was trying a manual setup of the APN and it wasn't working. So I thought a reboot might solve it. When I rebooted, I got a black screen with a little red message at the top - Custom binary blocked by FRP lock.
So I have spent the afternoon on the Internet only to learn that Google and Samsung created that lock so that stolen phones cannot be easily put into service. If OEM updates are checked, that disables the lock. I don't know what happened but I have a phone with a black screen that won't boot. It will go into download mode so I will try to flash a stock rom.
OK, that worked. I lost 2 days set up but the rom is booting.

Hi.
Download the official firmware for your S7 and flash it with Odin. That should solve the problem.

Yes it did! I was very worried that the stock rom was MM and so I was going backward. But it worked! And now I am all set up again. Just wish I knew what triggered that so I could avoid it in the future....

Did you tilt the option about OEM unlock in develop settings? Also try to flash without setting any PIN or fingerprint in the official rom
How do I do this process with a Claro brand phone? I do not know what firmware to select, the list has every country but Unites States.

You can use the European firmware on it.
Hi guys,
I got a Pixel replacement for my Nexus 6P, love the phone but missed the larger screen so selling it and bought second hand Pixel XL with 2 year warranty from CeX.
I noticed when it booted it said something about not running the initial Firmware. I asked the shop as was sold as the "unlocked" version. They told me was ee but genuine firmware that unlocked the phone and will function no differently and receive all updates without delay.
Having set up the phone, it's still running 7.1 and not detecting anything newer. Plus security patches are 05/10/16. This seems like a problem.
Do I need to return it?
EDIT: just started WhatsApp which told me I have a custom ROM which child cause issues. I bought the pixel to have native android.
Many thanks,
Max
Just flash the latest firmware

Thanks for the reply. But will I have to do this for every update and also to get security patches?
Just realised I'm in the wing sub forum. Can I ask to have it move?

No, you shouldn't have to flash every update once you are on official images. Just flash the stock Google images and you should be good to go. https://developers.google.com/android/images

I noticed in the FAQ about meeting through boot loader unlocked and not relocking it. Presumably it must have been unlocked to change the original Firmware, but I don't get that message "Your device software can't be checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader".
Is this going to be a problem in fishing the firmware? Sorry, I bought the Pixel as I really have no idea about the things, want exciting this.
The sign is just shown that your bootloader is unlocked.
Hi XDA-Community.
I want to root my Galaxy S8 Plus based on the new Android 9.0.
In Download-Mode it shows me
OEM Lock: On
FRP Lock: On
KG-State is not shown anymore.
Means that im in "Jail" and had to wait those 168 hours before flashing TWRP etc? Or it's a new Samsung Thing?
Thanks in advance! And sorry for bad English, im from Germany!

Can't say for sure if your kgstate is missing that it's turned off/disabled as this is a new issue.
In your post from 2 days ago from this thread look back about 9 posts the OP has some updated news regarding this.

As for the OEM lock you can wait for it to show up or try the date method ( or variations of it ) to get the option in developer menu. Note: Rebooting your phone resets your up time.
If you do try it I would recommend downloading your firmware first if you come across the official binary error you can re-flash and start from scratch again.
Just for reference on my S8 I flashed UK (BTU) firmware and updated to pie beta and had TWRP and root in about 5 min.
This update just came out today. Patch notes state April security patch and "general" improvements. I installed it and surprise surprise, STILL no Always-On Display (AOD) 6 months after unlocked version got it. Lesson learned, never buying a carrier branded device again.
No issues with the update otherwise I take it?
This is why I finally did a bootloader unlock and flashed the international software. Now I'm on the beta have a more up to date security update and all the features.

It's as stable as any of the other Android 11 updates. Rarely it loses bluetooth connection to my car but it's been like that for me since the first Android 11 update. Launcher still stops responding for 15 seconds if I try to lock the screen right after disabling work profile. That's been a problem since the first Android 11 update too though.

hi..
i recently got a 950F, but it seems i can't update it as it says "your current software version isn't supported current version G950FXXU3DSC7"
more importantly it doesn't seem to detect my hardware keyboard.
so my question is, what kind of rom can i use to install on it, that would detect the keyboard correctly

Via an xda post on Google.
open the Settings, Go to General management, Date and time, Untick Automatic date and time.
New options should appear. Tap Set date and select any date from the last month, so that you can trick the system into thinking you've had the device for more than 7 days.
Back out. In Settings, go to About phone >Software information,Tap on Build number 7 times to activate Developer options. Back out. In Settings, go to the newly added Developer options;Untick Auto update system.
Back out. Go to Software update, Untick Download updates automatically.
Tap on ‘Download updates manually. An error may appear... Disregard if one does. Reboot your device. OEM unlock should be available in the Developer options.
Links posted below should help you. Start with the first one.
