I have Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 6GB version. I have useed it carefully & phone has not been damaged physically. For past 2 weeks, I was not satisfied with captured images. Today I dug deep in camera settings & found that max picture size I can set is 5MP. I also loked at proprties of captured images & found that images captured 2 weeks prior have 15.9MP size & recent images have 5MP size. Then I formatted phone hoping it to be software problem, but problem persists. Plz help me in this regard.
PS. Camera is working i.e. capturing images in 5MP size.
Update - I have installed DevCheck Pro app. The app doesn't detect primary rear camera. It only detects secondary 5MP camera. Plz help.
If your phone is within warranty, send it back to asus for RMA.
Ok, Thanks. I was thinking same. Phone is within warranty. I will sent it to customer care.

Hello everybody, I have some strange issues with camera resolution on my Samsung Omnia 7 (7.10.8107.79).
Pictures taken with camera are 1223x1630 pixels, or 1630x1223 pixels depending of orientation, even with 5M (2560x1920) or 3M (2048x1536) option selected. When I take a shot in 2M or VGA mode, everything is as it should be, pictures are at selected resolution, but when I switch to larger resolution (3M or 5M), pictures remain at described resolution. The phone has factory ROM (updated) T-mobile Deutschland. I think this issue started not long ago, because pictures taken earlier are at right resolution. I tried to reset the phone and nothing happened.
Any help is appreciated
I start to think about some custom ROM-s if they are going to fix this issue.
Thanks in advance
Hello everyone!
Since I replaced the broken rear camera of my GT-I9505 the camera doesn't focus properly. First I thought it was a faulty replacement, but the replacement of the replacement as well as the camera from a different seller show the same behaviour:
The google drive widget for scanning docs focusses correctly, but none of the available camera apps work. As soon as the app tries to focus the focus goes into near mode and remains there with no further movement.
I have factory reset the phone, reinstalled all camera apps, flashed other roms, factory reset again, with no change.
Has anyone experienced this as well?
Thanks for any tips

So little rear camera replacements? I guess I am the only fool that managed to crack it

Hello there
I also have this same problem and done all those same things to fix this. 12cam is now useless. Some1 help us out of our misery! :I
I just picked up the i9505 second hand (first smartphone). Same problem here. I went through 3 camera module parts off eBay... first one was the wrong part (i9500), and other two were supposedly i9505 - same results: camera never focuses. *Sometimes* it will temporarily focus if I moderately shake the phone, even then, only if the phone is tilted upright and not facing down.
Is the front camera unaffected for you guys?

Might camera hw problem
Hi,
I have a gionee elife e7 not rooted, and my front camera is not working
A few days ago I ve take some photos with it but now the camera app closes when switching rear to front camera. I ve cleaned all data and cache from apps and rebooted. Nothing changed. I was thinking and installed a app named hardware info to see. My rear camera was detected but unfortunately the front camera was not there. I made the same in another gionee like mine and the front camera was there! What can I do now? I have the print screens if needed. I just want some help.
I'm using amigo 2.0 as OS.
I have my phone since March, 2015.
Some Android fan help me plz
I successfully revived my phone after a brick - had to take it apart at that. I disconnected the camera module when doing so. After finishing and reassembling it, I noticed that the photos from the back camera were no more than 3 or 4 megapixels. i thought it was badly connected or something (which seemed odd since it still shot somewhat nice pictures, i would expect artifacts) and went ahead and took the device apart, then unplugged and replugged both cameras. After booting, I opened the default camera app. The rear camera snapped into place with OIS but the app didn't show image. Tried switching to the front cam, nothing. After some time it simply crashed. OpenCamera says it can't start it and it might be in use by other app (after closing the stock camera).
Now I connected it again after that and it still doesn't want to work. I might've damaged something, which is kinda unlikely since it worked worse, but still worked after the first teardown.
Maybe it is a software issue? There's some camera firmware I've heard of, might be that too. Or I just trashed the cam, possible too. But what's weird is that the front camera also doesn't work...
Edit: it was the BeastMode kernel... Says it is made for A2017U's and my thing is a G
Lol it was BeastMode Kernel. Thanks for all the help
Hi guys, hope all of you are doing fine.
I purchased my Zenfone 3 Zoom in january 1st, 2018, and everything was fine. I'm using the original version of Android 8.0 provided by Asus and never rooted it.
After some updates I noticed that the display resolution changed, it looks like the display loose resolution, it has about three months I noticed the issue. When looking a white area, it shows visible horizontal lines, as if I have a white line and a grey line in sequence from up to the bottom.
A friend and I compared his own Zenfone 3 Zoom yesterday side by side and it is really visible the difference between the two screens.
I thought about wipe data, but when I accessed the menu to do it, I noticed that the wipe data screen shows the same issue. So I supposed it would not solve the issue.
I'm thinking about sending it to Asus to analyse the issue, but I would like to know if it is a known issue before, that I could resolve myself. I reaserch here in the forum and in the internet and found nothing about.
Researching in the internet I found display resolution and size configuration using ADB. I downloaded the Asus driver for my phone and did it. The original configuration is 1080x1920 and density 480. I changed density to 401 but it did not solve the issue.
