I have a few bixby routines set up. When my phone connects to my car bt, do not disturb should be enabled. Sometimes this just does not stick. I have to disable bixby routines and enable it again. After having done this, the routine kicks in and dnd is on. This is especially of importance since the latest update for my Gear S3 mirrors the dnd settings from the phone, which is absolutely great. Another routine (AOD on when charging) works everytime.
Anyone else having these problems? I really like bixby routines, but it defeats the purpose if i have to check everytime if it is actually working or not. I have bixby disabled, but not the routines part. The fact that my other routines do work should indicate that this is not the culprit...
Yeah I have noticed this as well. It's just every once in a while.

I completely removed my bt connection to my car, and set it up again. Seems to be working up until now.

Hi All,
I have been having trouble with the phone.
The screen has been turning on by itself and not turning off. The screen will not turn off until i hit the power button. It will not turn off until the phone is out of battery.
Is anyone else having this problem?
thanks!
Want to bump this up ... having the same issue. I've uninstalled nearly every app (at least the ones I'd think would be problematic) and it's still happening. I've downloaded Spare Parts today to see if I could figure it out but I don't have enough data yet.
Anyone else have this issue? Even when I press the lock button, I sometimes need to press it multiple times to get the screen to turn off.
I too am having this problem and boy does it suck battery lol

Do you guys have power saving mode enabled or disabled? Just curious, since that's one of the only things (in addition to message notifications) that affects the screen.
can it have anything to do with automatic updates?
i never had this issue. before or after root. i just rooted two days ago
I had this problem before and after root. I also did a factory reset and I thought it was fixed ... but now it's doing it again.
Happens w/ Power Saving mode enabled and disabled.
I've figured out a semi-solution to this which seems to be working:
With Advanced Task Killer:
Enable Auto Kill Frequencey "When screen off"
Set Auto Kill Level to "Aggressive"
Set Security Level to "Medium"
Don't forget to put any apps you don't want killed in the ignore list (like WidgetLocker, your music player, etc.)
This seems to keep the screen locked for me ... but I still can't figure out what app/process is the culprit in waking the screen when it goes to sleep.
I've put Do Not Disturb mode on when I'm driving, so that I don't get disturbed by notifications (e.gm whatsapp, Facebook, messages) popping up in bubbles at the top of the screen.
It's simply doesn't work - they still pop up! (albeit it doesn't vibrate).
I've selected the "hide visual notifications" option (see screenshot) but it doesn't work either way.
Anyone else have this issue? Any potential solutions?
Mine still give audible notifications in the night when it should be on do not disturb!
I have a much larger issue. My Galaxy S8+, I will turn on the setting to keep alarms on, one night it will work and the next night it won't so my alarm never goes off in the morning. Therefore I stopped using DND, turned all the setting to off even deleted the days it will operate to none and the setting STILL comes on every night at 1030. I go in to check my settings and they are all back on to the day before. Android is starting to get pretty poor with its updates.
if your display is on and in an app while in dnd calls will still come through if youre display is off they will not come through if youre display is on but not in an app the calls will not come through. No work around i can find as of now
This is so typically Samsung.. They finally fixed it, but only when the screen is off and when on the home screen
Ugh.. My Do Don't Disturb is dysfunctional.
If I'm listening to an audio book, watching Netflix or jamming to my tunes and someone calls what ever I'm listening to/watching pauses while the phone silently rings that's B.S. DND means exactly that DND. All calls should go straight to VM. when DND mode is on. Otherwise I can just turn the darn ringer off. DND is worthless.
For me works well. Only when the screen is off, like iPhone. Have you make the settings propperly? Because you can put if you want that calls don't show on screen.
A similar issue was fixed by hard-reset. Have you tried a factory reset? Factory reset stepMod Edit
Is there still no fix to this?
It seems like a pretty important malfunction and is super frustrating every night.
Anyone manage to get it working properly using Tasker?
On my S4, then S6 Edge I had a Tasker profile to turn on Do Not Disturb automatically when I plug my phone in to charge at night, and it worked a treat.
Not with the S8, no matter what I try, it still vibrates and activates the LED notification, even though it is showing as Do Not Disturb mode on, and in the settings I have ticked all the options to hide notifications when the screen is on, and off, and set no exceptions, or alarms only with the same result.
Any ideas?
This is driving me nuts. I have manually turned off many times but it keeps auto turning on during the day. I am missing important notifications. Is there a way to completely disable or fix this?
Any idea here folks? I have a hard time believing I am the only one.
Maybe Samsung sync is syncing previous settings constantly. Disable sync and see how you go? I've always had DnD on
What is DND?

Do Not Disturb (DND) is a feature that prevents notifications, pop ups, sounds during certain times such as at night when you are sleeping or during meetings. In my case, I have explicitly turned it off, yet it keeps turning itself on. I have a Smart Home with dozens of sensors, lights etc that notify me things happen but I am missing a lot because my phone is in a coma.
No solution to your issue but maybe some suggestions :
- you could use a tool like Automagic to log the time when this happens. Could give you some hint.
- you could even program Automagic to switch DND back off instantly when it turns on (dirty work around)
- you could factory reset / reflash the device and start setup from scratch (progressively) to determine if a specific app is responsible.

I stopped using DND because the settings within it were changing on their own. For example it would change from custom to no exceptions. In your case maybe you could use the custom setting to allow everything as an exception. Crappy workaround. I am using an app to control the sounds/notifications. That won't help you at all if DND keeps turning on.
DND keeps turning on
DND keeps turning on without being commanded too. At least twice today, and previously.
I thought at 1st I must have been turning it on by accident. I don't think so anymore. Are there any apps that will turn this on? Maybe I installed something.
I use the "macrodroid" app (similar to Tasker) to automate some things. Basically, the device works as it should. When it is started for the first time, the device boots and Macrodroid loads. But: some macros are executed - others not.
After ignition off, the device goes into sleep mode, then I turn on ignition within a few seconds, macrodroid is still active. If the ignition is switched off for a longer period, macrodroid will no longer be active. This behavior is apparently normal: all unnecessary apps are killed. That would not be a big problem if some system settings were not reset:
All permissions that I have assigned to Macrodroid to perform certain actions are reset. So some macros work, other won't. So I have to manually reset all authorizations every time after a long ignition-off.
In addition, the Google TTS setting for increasing the volume during text output does not survive the sleep mode: this is also reset again and again.
Is there any way to protect these settings and / or set them automatically when restarting / waking up?
Thank you very much
PS: I apologize for the awful English - it's a google translation

hello,
same issue here...accessibility settings turned off after a long ignition-off ??? i have just rooted my head unit and trying the "no-kill" mod but it seems to be the same....
did you found any fix for that ?
thx.
So I have been playing around a lot with bixby routines and thought of creating a thread to share our routines. Share yours. Thank You.
What are your routines, currently i am not using any. Let me know if anything is good.
TIA.
Here are some of my routines, so basically I just want to turn off mobile data, GPS, NFC, bluetooth when I am at the office and at home. Instead of triggering via GPS, I just use wifi connection to trigger this task.
Because of this covid-19 we have to use this govt app and keep it running on the background for contact tracing stuff, it requires bluetooth, data & gps to be turned on. So when I'm outside I need to keep these toggles on, to save some battery I want to turn it off when at the office & at home. For the NFC, I use Google Pay to ride the public bus & train, so I only need it turned on when I'm outside. For my jabra 75t bluetooth, I want its app to automatically open when connected, for the profiles & equalizer to work. During my sleep overnight, I don't want to drain battery, so I set it to medium power saving mode during that period.
I find this bixby routines very useful for me, so I don't need to toggle on/off every feature I need and don't need. My battery drains on standby mode much less especially during overnight because of the medium power saving mode.

Thanks for sharing. Even i am using similar ones. I haven't seen very complicated ones. I don't think they are possible yet.
Here are the ones I use.
Bixby has some great Routine options, but it could still use some improvement.
It would be nice if they add the options of Bluetooth is "not connected", or being able to run Routines in priority (set from 1 to 10).
Here's 2 examples using the options to achieve the same goal.
Example 1: DND (with Bluetooth not connected option)
"IF"
Time: 10pm to 7am
Power: Charging
Connection: Bluetooth not connected to "car"
"THEN"
Turn on DND
Example 2: DND (with priority option)
"IF"
Time: 10pm to 7am
Power: Charging
"THEN"
Turn on DND
"PRIORITY"
2
"IF"
Connection: Bluetooth connected to "car"
"THEN"
WiFI Off
DND Off
NFC Off
"PRIORITY"
1
I would prefer the first example as you would only need to create 1 Routine.
I use a Fold2 and run two routines - one to freeze the cover screen in portrait mode and the other to turn on secure wifi when I'm away from my home router.
What I'd really like is a routine that would change the 'Home App' depending on which screen I'm using - one for when the interior screen is open and another for when the cover screen is in use.
Have people found new good routines worth sharing?
I have a few. Using bixby routines+ extras from Good Lock, I have youtube music buttons to launch specific Playlist and automatically play them in shuffle using touch macros after a simple app launch. So, I just push one button and boom, shuffled chosen playlist playing.
Otherwise I just have a button to silence everything including media, and a button to set screen brightness lower and launch maps for GPS at night because the adaptive is still too bright and I drive a lot at night.
