Kernel Wakelocks:
1. IPA_CLIENT_APPS_WAN_CONS
2. rmnet_ipa%d
3. IPA_CLIENT_APPS_LAN_CONS
Anyone else getting these 3 wakelocks on their S10+ while on LTE? I know I saw someone else somewhere with these exact three "IPA" wakelocks. Not sure if this is an AT&T thing.
I have tried a clean factory reset without recovering from backup and still get these wakelocks. When I'm on Wifi or airplane they go away.
Tested this AT&T SIM from my S10+ in my unlocked S8 and it did not get these wakelocks on LTE.
How can I block these wakelocks? They are only allowing me ~75% deep sleep while on LTE.

I get them also , tmobile USA. Even when connected to wifi 100%. But I get good deep sleep. Where are you getting your deep sleep and doze figure from?

From accubattery and gsam. Overnight my deep sleep was 80% on wifi... my S8 loaded with apps always got 95% deep sleep. All wake time from kernel.

Always was confused about gsam deep sleep status compared with accubattery. I use both also.
I think gsam breaks the deep sleep further into light and deep sleep lol.

Good afternoon! I am having the same exact issue on my S10 plus from Verizon . I am getting the same exact wakelocks I can't seem to pin down the cause. these wakelocks seem to have something to do with Qualcomm and an internet packet accelerator driver but I'm not sure what triggers it or why. Is it still happening to you?
Yup, still getting the same wakelocks. Recent updates have seemed to help as i dont notice it affecting my deep sleep stats as much.
Any update on these kernel wakelocks? It always happen on LTE. I have the G975U1 unlocked, using Telcel in Mexico.
Did anyone manage to fix this wakelock?

Hello.
I am having problems with the battery because drains a lot (5% per hour without wifi, 3G, screen off, etc). I looked for this problem and I found that other people resolve it installing francokernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36553244). The problem was that the tablet uses the 3G even if no SIM card of 3G off.
But, I have installed the francokernel and the problem keeps and I don't know why The francokernel reduce the problem of 3G but my battery keep draining a lot. Can you help me ? I attach images from betterbatterystats. The test is with wifi off, 3g off and only facebook, twitter and whatsapp installed. The model is Nexus 7 3G
Thank you.

uninstall facebook
It's draining because there is something not allowing it to go to deep sleep. Install cpuspy or similar that will tell you what the CPU is doing.
EDIT: I know there are photos but only a couple are showing up for me.

It's definitely doesn't appear to be Facebook or a lack of deep sleep. Despite not seeing the infamous Google services, you may want to verify your location settings as that can override you turning off wi-fi and mobile network.

I have tested again with CPUSpy (wifi off, 3g off, only I have used 5 min, ...). Now, I see the wakelock PowerManagerService is on 33 min. At any rate, 90% of time the tablet is in deep sleep mode and drains aproximately 6% per hour. I don't know why happen this ... Is it possible that in the deep sleep mode the frequency would be high ?
I attach images of betterbatterystats and CPUSpy. Sorry, I can't upload picture o links (but in the first message I can do it). I put the links below with a "-" behind "http".
Thanks

Try restarting your N7. Every time i have this problem I restart my tablet and the battery draining goes away for about a week
hi guys,
im troubleshooting my battery problem on this phone. just need some thoughts.

the day before i tried this with the network on nfc on, data and wifi off and the consumption was about the same.
i have yet to try flight mode on and nfc off, but i wouldn't think that nfc would use that much.
i use greenify to put a lot of apps to hibernate so they wont wake the phone.
starting to think my battery isnt performing right anymore.

17% in 6.5hrs, airplane mode, no nfc.
the phone is definitely going to sleep.
i could leave the network on and nfc too, difference isnt big at all.
any idea is appreciated. leaning towards bad battery here..

Why not remove all the extra apps, and see if anything changes. Then, you can install one by one when things are clearer.
i would believe if an app cause the drain with the screen off then it is probably causing a wake lock.
which doesnt show at all. is there any otherway an app can drain the battery without wakelock?

I don't really see drain? 2% an hour is not that much. In my opinion it's normal.
If you insist on lowering it, then try the following:
- Different rom
- Different modem
- New battery
And search for some guides to lower your battery usage.
You have to experiment yourself.
it didnt use that much before. in 15 hrs i got a bit over an hour screen time before it hit 0.
anyway, just loaded romswitcher, going to see if it happens with CM too. and airplane mode on.
starting to think the battery is going bad already

I average about 0.5% drain during sleep.
See the link in my signature to find out how. I've got a whole guide.
Have you checked the serial number on your battery? If it starts with BD then it's stuffed Samsung should still swap it for free I think.
thanks for all the replies guys.
yes 0.5 drain should be normal when it sleeps.
just tried this using CM rom and it looks all good there, so its not the battery.
going to remove some experimental settings in greenify to see if that helps.

Premise:
idle battery drain in LP is much worse than in KK (1% per 1 hour vs. 3 hours.)
Personal experience : after disabling most of background apps in both OS's, the battery drain in LP is about 1% per hour, while it was 1% per 3 hours in KK.
New information:
I did a new test. I restarted the phone and charged it full. I then left it idle for about 6 hours.
Here are the results after 6 hours of a charged idle phone.

}
Conclusions:
1) The constant wakelocks in idle state are due to S-Health app. They are not responsible for the battery drain.
2) Cleanly after restart, the phone drains the battery in idle mode at a rate of 1% per 3 hours, even in LP.
3) Something else is responsible for draining the battery at 3x the rate (of 1% per 1 hour.) This new culprit is only introduced on using the phone for a while.
I will continue testing this.
Any new ideas are appreciated.
The single biggest reason that I miss root is to figure out wakelocks on these things.

Someone posted a way to get Wakelock Detector working w/o root:
1) Connect phone to usb.
2) Do "adb devices" then do "adb tcpip 5555"
3) Open Terminal Emulator and do "adb kill-server" and "adb devices"
4) At this point, Wakelock Detector works.
Thanks for that info. I'll have to give that a try.

You can use wakelock detector without root, over usb adb

I have been seeing the same awake vs screen on behaviour, my fiance isn't seeing that trend as much and her battery life is better. I'm not complaining much about mine, but it could be better. I've tried clearing cache, battery pull, uninstalling apps, and changing sync settings.
Android Central published an article about the bad battery life on the S6. Samsung just updated the push service that affects the S6, S5 and Note series. Might be worth looking into.
http://www.androidcentral.com/galaxy-s6-battery-life-bad-update-might-help
I got wakelock detector set up with the instructions in this thread. It sort of works. It shows no Kernel wakelocks, and I think that it's very unlikely that my phone has had no Kernel wakelocks in the last 18 hours.
Yes I have been tracking this Note 4 with WLD for a couple months now and I haven't been able to pinpoit the issue of battery/wakelocks. It seems to be something very fundamental inside android itself. My wife's Note 3 absolutely does not have these problems. She can get 8 hours of screen time in a day. I am lucky to hit 4
Hi everyone,
So I've had my 6P for a bit over a month now. However I never got it to Doze much (maybe once a night, but I lost 4% for a 6h night so I'm not sure).
The day before yesterday I installed Greenify to try to use Aggressive Doze. No result. Today I rooted and installed Naptime, and no Doze either in Aggressive mode.
Is there something I've missed? I've noticed my Awake graph is weird, phone always waking up.. (see screenshots).
Should I clean flash? I already wiped cache.

By the way I'm not getting terribly bad battery life either but still. I think I can squeeze a bit more. I am always between 2 and 3h of screen off.
Thanks a lot!

Maybe check to see if WiFi and BT scanning is on? Also I read somewhere that the gasbuddy app has bad wakelocks
Same problem here. It's wifi. As a test, turn off wifi scanning in location and then wifi itself. Leave overnight and then observe phone is no where near as awake as much.

I purchased my 6P roughly 2 weeks ago and I'm not seeing this amazing battery life of everyone else's.. The best I've gotten was 4hrs screen on time with 25% battery remaining. I've tried tons of ROM and kernel combinations, as well as being on stock with locked bootloader, the battery life seems worse with kernels, and the same with stock based Roms. Below is my current SOT with stock rooted, stock kernel. Is there something wrong with my battery? Considering calling huawei for a new battery? This is pretty **** battery. My galaxy S5 had better. I constantly check my CPU States, it does deep sleep perfectly fine. No abnormal wakelocks, I don't even have Facebook installed. The 4 hr SOT I did achieve was with greenify and amplify, which I don't think I need for a phone with this kind of battery...

Depends on a few things. Could be a rogue app, wifi wakelock, or really poor signal.
You could try stock and no apps for a day and see how it performs then.

the apps i use are twitter, whatsapp, tapatalk, slide for reddit, snapchat, instagram, open camera, and neko atsume. thats pretty much it. Of course cpu spy for monitoring, and sometimes i do notice wifi taking up a bit of battery, but even if i disable it and it goes away, the battery life is still poor. I have a moto 360 and I usually have it paired via bluetooth. I also use google now but i set the GPS mode to either device only or battery saving mode. reverting to bone stock google images locked bootloader to see if it makes a difference, again.. even if the wifi isnt draining.. still is poor. I did monitor my signal and i get very good LTE signal all over my city, so I can rule that out. Would huawei honour this request? I am located in Canada if it matters. Also i dont think its app related because i use the same apps on my S5 and the battery is better on it, which doesnt make sense.
Have you tried turning off WiFi scanning and Bluetooth scanning? They're pretty much useless but consumes battery.
Go to Settings > Location > Menu > Scanning > toggle both settings off

So I have had my phone on for two days now and charged back to 100 of course. Total screen on time over that period is 3 hrs.. This is brutal. Phones at 58% right now. I'm noticing this (screen shot) is this the culprit and does huawei do warranty in Canada?
