Seems like the hiya service is inbuilt and on by default for the tmobile devices. Is this basically what is used "screen" my inbound calls to notify if possible spam or not?

Anyone with exynos get this working on tmobile usa?
I read it works on the unlocked U1 firmware.
There's also smart call , are they both inactive apps ?
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Yes that is a secondary spam/robo call blocker. There is one built in into samsungs firmware by default, hiya is more like a secondary one. I have both enabled and I am subscribed to hiya premium, they do the job.

I don't want anything to screen my calls.
Was wondering if smart call and hiya was running on the T mobile version by default or not.
I found Hiya and Smart call in apps (show system files). And also if this was a tmobile move or samsung. Either way I think its shady having a third party call screening process running in the background.

If you have 975 U running on TMobile, you can opt out of their spam ID and spam block services in the TMobile app.
If you have the 975 U1 then you can also turn off the Spam ID and protection on the phone app.
I don't think 975 U have that function ( spam ID and protection) in phone app that powered by Samsung using Hiya.
Then I believe you won't be monitored for any of those calls on your phone.

That's the thing , the T Mobile branded one doesn't have the option to enable or disable spam caller screening within the phones dialer setting.
The other option about disabling spam calling on the T mobile website is for the back end monitoring. Which is independant and on t mobiles end.

Just want to share my experiences on my SM-G970F on Tmobile USA.
It came as TPA/TPA/TPA/TPA software/CSC. No Smart Call/ Caller ID. But Volte/videocalling/wifi calling/HD calling worked. Showed LTE and LTE+ in the signal status.
i flashed DTM CSC... No hd call or Samsung pay.
O2u no hd calling
Evr and h3g no volte toggle, also British call ring.
ARO and Smart Call/ Caller ID Spam Protection worked. Volte/Video CAlling/ Wifi calling, HD calling worked. It shows 4G and 4G+ instead of LTE/LTE+ but it works. No Samsung pay.
I believe because my phone original csc was tpa I can't get btu unless I have a UK sim.
The spam likely screening that T Mobile USA have enabled on their end is quirky .
Today I received a call from a contact that has an international country code of +44, T Mobiles system added a +1 to that country code making it +144 and falsely reported it as a scam likely call.

How do you enable these features and what firmware/model do you have? Thanks.
I called 611 in the end, and asked them to turn off spam etc screening on their end off for me.

Hello guys!
I've been looking around for this but I can't get a clue on it.
Is there anyway to confirm if amr-wb is on? My csc has the flags and the operator supports it, but I can't be sure if it's working.
On previous phones (like the S4) the service menu *#0011#* works but on the S5, after inserting the number 1 it takes takes me nowhere.
Thanks for your tips!
I too am interested. Any ideas?

Hi!
I think that it works well on three uk, check it using *#0011# you should see AMR-WB xx.xKb/s. Usualy it only shows up when on hsdpa (H+ network).
Say something!

I'm with Three UK and when i use that code (Service Mode) i see no mention of AMR-WB. Speech version is showing as FR FR FR and occasionally below that it shows AMR Undef but it keeps appearing and disappearing. I've been trying to figure out for ages about the HD Voice as when i call my friend who also has a S5 and is with Three, it definately doesn't sound like HD voice quality like it did on my S3.
Today I found this (here in Portugal)

But I'm flying to the UK today and I'll check that on 3.
Did you check your phone when in the UK?
Right now I'm the UK and both me and my wife have AMR-WB in 3 network...
I'm having exactly the same problem in Portugal with Vodafone... A friend have HD Voice and I don't have... It's somehow related to the SIM Card, or network profile I guess...

When you call your wife does it display a HD symbol on the screen to indicate HD voice?
No, it doesn't... I never saw that symbol even on other phones... But I can tell you that we can ear the difference on the conversation.

Cheers. Maybe it's just me then but it certainly doesn't sound HD voice when im calling and if it is then its nowhere near as good as it was on the S3. Reason i asked about the HD symbol is when i was googling i came across a few reports of t-mobile users who stated that when they were using HD voice, there was a HD symbol on the screen indicating it was on. If this is true it would seem strange that it shows for some networks and not others.
Hi guys just purchased the LG G3 f400k and noticed that there are issues with the smart notice feature whilst used out of Korea. I noticed it uses ''Kweather'' as a weather supplier (Im guessing this is Korean) as apposed to Accuweather like the international model. When the korean model is used overseas, ive noticed this with a few models the smart notice feature does not work at all.. weather alerts will not pop up or anything about your location. It displays the weather however but wont warn you about about alert cards or anything except that your battery is low. Minor issue but just letting people know who decide to buy the Korean model over the International model. Anyone else with this issue?

Not too sure on this one. I am using the F400S on AT&T, and smart notice weather cards are working fine for me... (also joined to kweather, and not accuweather). Warned me that tonight might get chilly and rain... suggested I dress for it. (Thanks G3 )
Yeah me too, I cant add location as it says its already added but is not visible and when trying automatic search it say cant add ... So wanted to use the smart notice. Let see if anything can be done in this regards please share

There you go I wasn't crazy. I sold my korean version and will be buying the international version.. it also has call waiting which the Korean models don't have.. and display has improved apparently. .
I have the f400k and have a option to put the call on hold. In the menu, there is a option to add a caller. Isn't that call waiting.

Are you able to make video calls?
If so how did you do it?
So according to the article.
http://www.androidheadlines.com/201...d-spam-detection-is-built-into-galaxy-s7.html
The Samsung S7 partner up with Whitepages, a caller identification and phone scam detection, on top of all that, you’ll be able to find nearby businesses whilst searching through the dialer.
My phone is Australian, which is one of the 16 countries involved with the S7 and whitepages.
So what gives,
When I make a call, I get "identifying caller info" then the number comes up with no caller id.
I go into the dialler search for a place nearby, it just searches my contacts.
Absolutely nothing works as promised...or am I missing something..
Exynos version - SM-G935F
It works, sort of, but it's very slow. Also, I suspect it needs a data connection, so if you're on Verizon or Sprint and don't have voice+data, it probably won't work unless you're on Wifi. I used True Caller on my last phone, and I'm going to disable White Pages and install True Caller on this one, too.
I'm in Australia and actually use both Truecaller and Samsung version which utlisizes whitepages. I'm assuming you've granted the appropriate permissions for Samsung to access your contacts/dialler etc. They both work hand in hand for me and I usually get a listing for most phone numbers that are listed in either source.

Tmobile and no whitepages. so i tried whitepages app in play store. assuming they are the same? if not then i guess thats why when i get a call whitepages is giving me wrong information. truecaller is a bit more accurate for me

Appropriate permissions = settings >privacy and safety > app permissions > Contacts - Contacts turned on

Any other permissions needed ?
Can you search for nearby places through your dialer. ?

I think you also need to grant permissions for >Telephone Permissions
I'm not sure what application is utilizing this service but check whether contacts and glalaxy apps have permissions granted. When I turned mine on I can't remember what permissions it asked for if any. Perhaps even grant permissions for everything in the list and then work out a process of elimination.
Also it only works when actually dialling the call for me. So for example if I dial 131888 and Dial it will perform a search and then display dominos.

This is a quick guide to show how to enable the smart call feature included in some versions of the Note 7, according to the website. Learn more about smart call feature here: http://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/smart-call/
First download quick shortcut maker from the Play Store.

Second navigate to the third phone setting.
Third scroll all the way down to the circled setting. This sitting right here will get you where you need to be to enable Smart call feature.

Turned it on. Why is there no way to turn this on without downloading another app?
Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
Mine was on by default due to the 10 day trial and then it was switched to the off after a notification saying I could pay for the service, trial expired. I enabled it again with apex shortcut and it works great. We will see if I get charged premium charge.
Oh snap this is a paid feature...
Not sure where you found the trial. I searched and nothing came up on my phone
Sent from my SM-N930P using Tapatalk
The trial popped up when I activated the phone. I didn't accept the agreement, but it started anyways. After I reenabled it, I checked my account and I don't see any charges yet. It doesn't work for all numbers though (not the phones fault, number probably masking info)
I have it on and it seems like it doesn't work. I got a few bogus calls that it didn't filter.
This did not work for me. Then today I was poking around in the settings and got it to work. I went into Applications in settings and then in the top right enabled system apps. I scrolled down to smart caller ID and clicked it. I went to permissions and enabled contacts.
Anyway an hour later I got a call from a family member from their home phone. I do not have this persons name saved in my phone. It said their first, last, and middle initial right on the screen. I was like wow it's working. So naturally I went into package disable pro and turned it off LOL. I tested it again with the same caller and this time it didn't show their caller ID, only their phone number. I tried to re enable the feature and have not been able to get it back since. If someone can try these steps and see how it works, maybe we can figure it out.
Kept messing with settings and it started working again. Rebooted and it went away.
Yeah this is definitely not working. The option to identify unsaved number Era is on but when I get a call from a unsaved number it doesn't identify the number.
Not working for me either.

I was able to turn on the feature. I'll watch to see if it works. This is after the update....
Mines turned on but not working...

That's not an easy thing to do without root, but possible I guess. You think we should flash the csc from the international version? The only way I know how do it is with Odin.

Good morning
My wife owns a samsung A5 2017 and she can place video calls directly from the contact app, which is samsung proprietary (rom stock)
She has no third party app, so its a built in feature.
A friend with a galaxy S7 can receive those video calls, with my ZTE Axon 7 I can't, so I'm digging to know why.
Do anybody know how these video calls work? What protocol? Any piece of software to install? Does it work only between samsung phones? If so, is it portable to other brands?
Thanks very much.

Hi!
The video calling feature requires the Wifi calling setting to be ticked on, which is under the phone app when you tap the three dots on the right-hand corner --- settings --- then scroll all the way down and tick wifi calling on. If you're on Marshmallow still, go into your phone settings, tap connections --- mobile networks --- wifi calling, and turn that on. **NOTE** You're carrier must support your phone for wifi calling to work, if not, you won't have an option for wifi calling, and the video call feature cannot work. Worst case scenario, download a third party app for video calls Hope this helped, and if you have anymore questions, please ask!
There is no need setting or install any apps
My A7 (even on my previous Tab 2 7.0) default dailer have native videk call using 3G line.
But i can only call to phone that have native video calling feature.
If i calling phone that not support video call calling will fail.

thank you so much.
Nope, no wifi calling setting in my phone app parameters.
Are you sure that this "wifi calling" refers to the "visio calling" option you find in samsung phone dialers?
I'm asking because I'd like to know what is exactly the mechanism of this, so I can investigate.

Yes, you need "wifi calling" for the video calls to dial out. It doesn't work over phone service, so yes, wifi calling is what is needed to use the integrated video call feature on your phone. May I ask what phone and what carrier the phone is on? Your carrier has a list for supported wifi calling devices if you want to see if your phone is supported.
**EDIT** Apparently mobile networks work with video call as well... Take advantage of this if you have an unlimited data plan
