stop sending emails to car audio via bluetooth - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

I have an unlocked S10+ paired to my 2017 toyota 86. I like having my texts go to the car stereo when i'm driving, I hate when emails do. on top of that this email app is constantly sending the same email to the car over and over every few minutes. Sometimes this phone shows new mail notifications for an email that's already been read and possibly even deleted off the phone;. I really hate Samsung's email app.
Is there any way to stop the car getting emails but not stop the texts?
I'm almost willing to stop the texts just to stop the effing email notifications.

Dunno. But I’m running gmail-app and have no such issues. Don’t like Samsungs app.

Mu suggestion is unpaired the phone and remove from car. Then pair again and when the phone gives you.the pop ups of download contact, accept text, if you.get one for email notice say no. Or you can stop email notifications on phone but.you wont get any notice you have mail. But you can just make it a habit to check email once in a while on phone.

Have you tried disabling notifications for your email app? That should stop email notifications both on car and on S10+. Not ideal but at least your car experience will be improved

Is there a reason why my phone doesn't report my voice mail messages?

One day, I was using my phone as usual, until it had one of those phone-frozen spells that it goes through (the one where the phone refuses to hang up). Ever since then, my phone refuses to report new voice mail messages, even as I checked options from the voice mail and notification options in settings.
It's very odd that I get this. I'm only asking to see if I'm not the only person with such a horrible problem.

Turning off data connection + speaker question

Hi guys, the Touch HD is making me poor since it likes to eat my credit away.
Whenever i turn off Data Connection in the Communication tab, it keeps turning on after a while. So it seems like something is turning it on.
I have checked everything including any email settings but i cannot see any Automatic Retrieval turned on unless you can point me to that direction.
So i don't know whats turning it on, but it is rather annoying because Vodafone charge heaps for Data.
I was with $150 credit last week, now i'm on $45 with not much calls.
First day i got my Touch, i didn't how much they charge so i was amazed at the Weather tab so i kept updating to see other cities.. in the morning i had no more credit.
EDIT: I tried the NoData program but i'm starting to think that i don't actually want to turn the whole thing off, only to use it whenever i want to use like when i want to retrieve an email. Any other alternatives.
EDIT: I found out i was on auto retrieve email every 5 minutes so i guess that may have been the problem.

Now my speaker question. Is it me or whenever i make a call i press the speaker button, the sound sounds distorted. It seems like the sound is peaking. i can still hear them but it seems to peak at parts and makes it hard to understand.
Whenever i play music, it seems fine but with calls it distorts through the speaker. Holding it to my ear is fine.
Anyone know what the issue might be?
Thanks in advance
Could be the weather update tab, sometimes it is set to automatic update, and also, as you said the email refresh set to five minutes are the main culprits. If you have set up exchange email in the active sync "configure server" then that also must be set to manual.
About NoData.
I disabled my data connection with it, but i can still start them manually through the communication tab.

Bluetooth Issues with EVO

I have a 2010 Volkswagen CC with factory Bluetooth. The EVO pairs fine and I can make/receive calls. However there are a few issues that are bugging me to no end and keeping me from loving this phone.
First, I'm randomly missing phonebook contacts. The car downloads the phonebook so I can browse it on my nav screen or on the instrument cluster display. I have around 250 contacts, most with multiple numbers, so the total visible in the car display should be around 550. With the EVO, many are missing. This never happened with any of my iPhones or BlackBerries. In fact, I even did a test with Gmail sync and deleted a bunch of contacts, leaving only a few important ones. They were still missing.
Second, when I dial a number from the phonebook the call fails. It appears that the phone doesn't like receiving any numbers with punctuation, like dashes. So if I pick a contact with number 123-456-7890 and dial it, the phone actually dials 123569, etc. If I change the entry to remove the dashes or dial it with the car manually it works just fine.
I'm always on the phone in my car. It's against the law where I live (DC) to hold it up to my face and they've been pretty aggressive about it lately. My iPhone 3GS never had a problem with this... I don't know why the EVO does.
Is this Android in general or HTC's implementation of Bluetooth stack? I see a Nexus One user with a similar issue in thread 629677 here.
Fortunately I didn't port to Sprint and am just taking advantage of the 30 days. I've already been through 4 EVO's due to substandard build quality and display issues. I love this phone and the screen but am hesitant to keep it because of the BT issues and the unknown release schedule for 2.2.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Bluetooth connect disconnect notification sound

On the 2.2 roms the bluetooth now triggers my notification sound when connecting and disconnecting. Is there a fix to kill that undesired new feature in the 2.2 roms?
Sent from my Vibrant using the XDA app.
I would also like to know a fix for this. It's really annoying every time I get into my car and out of my car, the phone notifies me of bluetooth connect/disconnect and I am tempted to check if it was a text or the bluetooth.
There's a workaround, but it's kinda irritating... Set the default notification sound to "Silent" then set the various apps you want to notify you to something else. I only really care about GV, MMS, Gmail, and Gtalk, so it's not much. For people with a lot of them it would get annoying fast.
That's actually not irritating for me because the only notification I need is SMS. Thanks man!!
Thanks, that's awesome!

It worked perfectly today. Got text message notification but none of that annoying bluetooth connect/disconnect

Recurring Notification Alert when Screen Off?

Hi, I thought Sidelight would do the trick, and it works great, EXCEPT for the fact that it only alerts once and then stops. Often I'm out of the work vehicle and I won't see that notification alert and will end up not knowing anything came through.
Is there an alternative option for this phone that will simply give a recurring visual alert on the screen for calls and texts that I've missed?
