Please I need F800L stock OREO Modem.img - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Good day everyone. Please I need the Stock Oreo Modem.img for F800L V20. I bought a refurbished LG V20 on Aliexpress and it was At&t branded so I rooted and updated to Oreo using dirtysanta. I lost signal after flashing the oreo modem from at&t and I got signal back from the backed up modem file from the nougat I had before rooting, but I lost fingerprint. I opened the motherboard out of curiosity to find the board was indeed a F800L motherboard. Please I need the oreo modem for F800L to fix the fingerprint issue.
Please anyone who has the F800L firmware should help by uploading the stock OREO Modem file. I dont have much data to download the full firmware.
I have searched but I couldn't find just the modem file as this is all I need to fix my issue. Thank you.

I just happened across this and I actually need a STOCK MISC.img file. I bought a USED LG F800L and it appears they borked it and probably tried to root incorrectly and they blew away the misc partition.
The phone keeps changing MAC address with every reboot; so I need to "fix" it with Autoprime's guide, but I have a misc filled with 0s. Can you share a STOCK misc.img?
I am on NOUGAT, but I do not think it matters. I just need a STOCK misc from an LG F800L and then I can EDIT it to fix the MAC.
The instructions to retrieve the STOCK MISC is here:
Scroll down to Autoprime's Guide
It is not the OP Sticky; but further down in Autoprime's post - #12. If you are ROOTED, then this will be SUPER EASY for you and you can hook up all of us LG F800L owners. THANKS...

How to downgrade ZC520TL from N to M

Hello all,
this is my first post on XDA so I hope I am doing everything according to the rules. If I do something wrong, apologies and I will do better next time.
So, I recently purchased a Zenfone 3 MAX in the US in a hurry out of necessity. So I was quite annoyed to find out that ASUS has hidden the ability to format the SD card as internal memory. However I found out there is a way to un-hide the feature via adb. But the procedure I found is tested to work with Marshmallow, and I had already updated the phone to Nougat. Indeed, the adb command has had no effect on my phone.
So, now I am trying to downgrade back to Marshmallow. I am definitely a newbie to this world, but I have been able to find this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/help/how-to-downgrade-zenfone-3-nougat-to-t3573241) thread, which contains a link to a downgrading procedure (https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-164531-1-3.html). However, it is not for ZC520TL but for ZE520KL.
I was hoping I could use the same procedure for my phone, if I find the right firmware, but I am not sure I have been looking in the right places. The ASUS website has various firmware versions for the US and I assume the oldest one is Marshmallow (Version US-13.1.4.43), but the procedure above requires two different firmware files and I do not know enough to understand what is the difference and where I can find them.
Anyone can shed some light on this for me?
Thank you

Ask for it. A user in Canada obtained the downgrade. Please write in this thread and share it.

Thanks for your reply.
I have looked at the thread you linked, but I could not see any reference to someone successfully getting their phone downgraded to M by Asus. If anything some people in there stress how unhelpful is Asus with the whole thing. So I am not any closer to the solution than I was before.

Thanks for the link. I have looked around and found a firmware for the ZC520TL. However I am not sure it is the right one for me because it is my understanding that I need a firmware whose name starts with UL, rather than WW. I am not sure what would happen if I used firmware of a different zone. Moreover, I have been able to recover the right firmware from the ASUS website. What I need is the "RAW firmware" as defined in the procedure I have linked in my original post. But I don't know how that is different from the firmware. As I said, I am very new to this world.

WW stands for global firmware, however I am not sure what UL is for. You can contact the person in that website asking for your firmware. They will help.

I want to flash back to ls993 firmware after flashing the H873 oreo kdz

Hello everyone, I just got this G6 ls993 with stock firmware Nougat on 29th May.
Then I went through some of the thread and found there is the way to flash different stock kdz to change the model.
And as you know that H873 has released its oreo stock kdz weeks ago, can't wait another day to use the new oreo system.
So I downloaded H873 stock oreo firmware and force flash the h873 kdz to my ls993. So far everything works well.
And of course, my phone model was change from ls993 to H873 with the new oreo firmware as well, then I just realized LG has released its official oreo for ls993 on 31st May...
I regret why I couldn't wait on the Nougat for 1 or 2 more days, otherwise I would be able to just ota to oreo as a "ls993" rather than "H873".
Now the question comes, is there any chance that I can flash ls993's stock Nougat or oreo?
I've been searching for the ls993 stock kdz for a while , but seems LG hasn't released any version of stock kdz for lsd993 yet and not sure if they were already on the way to do this either.
There may be probably no official stock kdz for ls993 , so what should we do to flash back to its stock model?
Hope anyone who is suffering the same problem can help to get it solved.

So, obviously, you are pretty much scr3wed right now. Flashing different model's .kdz was HIGHLY unrecommended.
First of all, you can try repairing software using LG Bridge on your PC. I don't know how this works but that piece of crap reflashed my phone with branded carrier software that was originally installed on my phone and I had totally different firmware flashed... it still managed to recognize my device and punish me for debranding my device.
So try this in the first place, LS993 firmwares weren't released by LG as stated here down in the comment section.

I don't think they don't wanna help.
All ls993 users are in the same situation,
1. There is no kdz for ls993, so no one can do a fresh restore to the stock firmware.
2. No root or TWRP, there is no simple way to restore the system.img to ls993
Let wait for LG to release the kdz for ls993...

I have some new findings at https://www.needrom.com/download/ls993-7-0-tot/
As shown in the page, it is a LS993 tot file, however, seems current instruction only work on kdz file and there is no instruction for tot.
I know that tot file is also an img file with all the system partitions, it was used for flashing the stock firmware as well as kdz file.
I've successfully downloaded the file from mega and its size is about 6G after extracting it from the zip file.
So looking forward if anyone is familiar with tot file flash and seems this should be the possible way that we can flash back to ls993.
Thanks.

Please Help for me.How to force flash H870 firmware in Ls993
How I force flash H870 firmware in LS993 help me Now.
I am in the same boat. I ordered my phone on Amazon used because it was selling cheap. Curious i wanted to see what the modding community was doing for this phone so i looked into the phone itself. I checked to imei and it said my H873 was actually an LS993. It is running the H873 Oreo rom H87320c rom. Can i do the i update or am i screwed for now?
I bought one of the Amazon AS993 phones as well (was labelled H872 on site). Will H872 kdz flash successfully on this and give me the Volte calling with Metro/T-Mobile? I have the phone online with metro now but the firmware is set up for Brightpoint network without Volte calling and native video calling. I do understand the imei will conflict with OTA updates, but will H872 flash and work like it should on this hardware - all components appear the same.

H910 (ATT V20) oreo update manually, help needed

Can you please guide me how to manually update my AT&T v20 to be stock not rooted oreo, my h910 is stock never touched, not rooted of version h91010m which can't get updates as it is unlocked and am not in US.
All i want is just to update it manually to the stock oreo software.
Thanks a lot

Instead of flashing the 10v att image like the last step suggests, use the 20g Oreo image instead

is there a way to update in future? Also is there a way to change the software from h910 to h915 so that i can recieve ota updates normally in future?and is it safe as am afraid to loose signal or brick phone etc...
Thanks a lot in advance.

After you flashed the 20g Oreo image, it will be stock as if you took the ota update itself. You'll be able to accept ota updates after words. Follow the root thread, amd you'll be fine

The problem is i can't recieve ota updates even i am stock, it is AT&T restriction because my phone is unlocked am using other network (am not in us)
ota updates need to have a working AT&T SIM inserted in phone. It is very stupid policy for AT&T.
So my question now is, is there a way to convert h910 to h915 safely? Because Canadian operators allow ota to unlocked phones...
Or is there a way to manually upgrade in future after i upgrade to stock oreo?

why are you worried about updates when you can't take them now ?
Yes you can convert your phone to 915 it's the first step in the rooting process
if you want to stay 915 use the H915 Oreo KDZ > https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/h915-oreo-kdz-link-t3826812
If you want a H910 on Oreo use my zip. If another update comes along their will always be another zip (provided we get root and TWRP for Oreo)
In case i will just flash the h915 oreo kdz, should i flash all partitions? Including modem, bootloader, etc...
Is it safe? Because in the guide it say i will loose the signal after flashing h915...
Also Should i still root first or can just flash directly?
Also is it safe to get future ota updates when software is for h915 and treat my phone as if it is h915 from the beginning?
Many thanks in advance.

You flash all partitions for non rooted stock which should work like normal with everything working.
My guide is for those trying to keep root intact so to preserve the dirtysanta eng aboot so there are problems with data at the moment.

I'm in the same situation as the creator of this thread, I can not update my phone from OTA
Assuming I do this to update. Would Android Oreo be rooted? Could I enter TWRP ?.
Since If I do this procedure and update my phone to Oreo and I don't have root or chance to get into TWRP . I would be stuck until there is some way to root the phone (if it comes into existence)
PS: I bought an AT&T sim card from eBay, but I couldn't activate it. Do you guys have any idea if the sim being activated I could update my phone despite not being in an AT&T network?

Just to clarify this statement a little. If you want to run Oreo now, you can't have root. However, you CAN downgrade back to Nougat and root when we finally have the Oreo + engineering bootloader issues worked out.
The US996 will be getting Oreo eventually, and that firmware is what is going to allow us to have rooted Oreo on models that use the engineering bootloader.
If the US996 wasn't getting Oreo, then I would waste the time trying to get things sorted out -- but that is just a waste of time.
We have waited for Oreo this long, waiting another couple of weeks isn't going to hurt.
As a final statement, I have had a chance to play with Oreo on my H910, and I am NOT impressed. What a ****poor, crap job that LG has done. It may get better with future updates, but I wouldn't bank on it.

I remember reading earlier this year about how LG was going to reform their mobile division, getting better at software updates and halting/slowing down the typical release schedule of phones.
Seems none of that has happened as far as I can tell, especially the software part. What a farce.
finally i updated my H910
i managed to updated my H910 by simply flashing the oreo H915 KDZ file with patched LGUP and it seems very good... signal is ok no errors so far except one after rebooting phone
ARB is still zero.
thanks a lot for all of you

Why do you think US996 getting Oreo helps? What if the eng aboot can't initialize the oreo modem properly (maybe intentional change)? I have a thought, maybe we can try if the stock nougat aboot, say H910, can boot the Oreo with data? We could flash everything Oreo stock and just leave the aboot nougat. Since signatures are still LG, it should boot up? And if it still can't have data, maybe eng aboot can never initialize properly, I don't know.
Questions about the H910 --> H915 Conversion
I have read several different postings on how to change the H910 to H915
I read the posting by runningnak3d and I am bit confused.
Sorry for the noob questions
1) If I flash H910 to the H915 v10e kdz, do I have to continue the steps to flash to oreo or can the phone be updated from OTA?
I really don't want the AT&T logos on my phone and I don't need my phone to be rooted or need dirtysanta.
2) Would flashing it with LG UP be enough to get Oreo?
3) I'm confused with the steps after downloading terminal emulator? - Do I need to do these steps if I want to keep the H915 Rom?
Sorry if my questions are dumb.
Thank you in advance.
Much appreciated

1) If I flash H910 to the H915 v10e kdz, do I have to continue the steps to flash to oreo or can the phone be updated from OTA?
I really don't want the AT&T logos on my phone and I don't need my phone to be rooted or need dirtysanta.
2) Would flashing it with LG UP be enough to get Oreo?
3) I'm confused with the steps after downloading terminal emulator? - Do I need to do these steps if I want to keep the H915 Rom?
Sorry if my questions are dumb.
Thank you in advance.
Much appreciated

you can do as i did, just flash H915 KDZ Oreo file directly using patched LGUP and select to Partition DL all partitions.
you will have stock oreo H915 fully functional phone, there is only 1 error message that will appear every reboot of phone but will not make any harm.
there is no any issues or problems i have noticed so far, also the software seems more stock than AT&T version.

you can simply use lgup to backup your current setup (not userdata)
and use lgup to flash the 915 Oreo kdz
Note: someone said that converting to 915 caused google now to stop working but everything else was ok
if you want to return to 910 stock you'll have to do the root procedure and flash h910 10q or 20g back to stock rom from TWRP

Rooted H990DS. Can it be upgraded to oreo? Development is still going on?

I've been looking out in the forums for info about H990DS development. But I find much less info than other models that got their updates earlier.
Last year I rooted with DirtySanta and updated to the lastest kdz available for my region (twn) with help of KDZ Writer by @emdroidle. Who seems unactive since april.
There was also this H990DS info bank thread that has a bunch of information about H990DS development. Like kdz merging for updates & much more stuff.
But the OP got mad because someone implied that was other developer's work and not his. He made a tantrum and deleted all the information to never be seen again.
I know how to follow instructions, but sadly, I am not a developer myself. Also I don't own many smartphones so I could just change devices if I screw this one up.
But I want to know if there is someone still working on this or if it can be done already. Maybe set a bounty or donations if needed?
Is there a way to upgrade rooted stock rom devices to Oreo without making the device unusable in process?
Would it be possible to keep root when upgrading to Oreo? Maybe flashing certain partitions or files?
Or does it has to be a modified stock rom that is root enabled?
I hope at least get a clear answer about if it can or can't be done. Thanks.

Time to move on...

Hi Brian, so sorry for you loss. I lost my dad in Feb so I know how hard it can be. I just have one final request regarding the LG AS993 root project. Can I get the links to these items so I can attempt your method. I know if technically was an unfinished project but I wanna give it a go before I completely give up on this phone once and for all. If you don't mind could you email them to me @ [email protected]. I would really appreciate it! Thanks and again I am so sorry for your loss. Patched LG UP (link)
FWUL 2.7 or later (link)
H870 KDZ (link)
H918 KDZ (link)
Zip with partitions to be flashed (link) *move to FWUL instructions*
TWRP (link) *move to FWUL instructions an use wget*
Sorry for your loss Brian.
And thank you so much for all your work and help to us LG users.
Godbless and Enjoy your new device.
