Lowering screen brightness - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

I'm on a stock kernel. I want to lower my screen brightness below minimum that's offered by stock kernel. I know the name of the feature used in custom kernel is backlight dimmer. I don't want to use a custom kernel because for me stock kernel is far superior than any custom kernel. I'm rooted. Is it possible by magisk module or terminal

[Q] Reflashing Stock Kernal...

Hello Guys
Need your help,
I have rooted my nexus 4 and have reflashed stock 4.2.2 rom, and i also have flashed Enhanced Stock 4.2.2 Kernel (STOCK + UV + HSIC Fixes + Gamma + Speaker)
I used Faux display app to calibrate the display
My main motive behind rooting was to get better colours and display..Now my main dilemma is that if i flash back the stock kernal and unroot my Nexus, will it go back to the original colour settings..?? or modified colours will be there
Please answer
You will not, of course, have the modified colors.
Sent from my iPad 4
Nope you will not have the modified colors. Thats the whole point of flashing custom ROMs and kernels to have additional features that the stock ROM/kernel cannot offer.

STOCK NOUGaT BaSED ROM

which is best stock based rom in terms of battery performance JX's series or Revivior rom or any other ??
Only they both are available which are stock based. and none of them are updated to the latest Security patch.
You better choose the latest one. i suppose it's by JX
I don't see any real differences battery wise between the original stock rom and any mods like JX's series. Personally I'm using the standard rom with ElementalX kernel, rooted with Magisk and disabled some annoying services/apps myself. If you really want to noticeable save battery power, I would suggest to lower the CPU cores count and/or lower the frequencies of it with tools like EX Kernel Manager/Kernel Auditor.

stock kernel

I was wondering if anyone could change the stock kernel for QI2 from enforcing mode to permissive mode, and also add all the governors to it for speed and performance. Somehow i tried every custom kernel you could possibly use and each one has its problems. beast mode kernel soon as i get down to 30% it dies and no its not my battery bought 2 extra batteries off ebay and it does it with each battery. ram kernel when i use it somehow causes all my calls to reboot during call no matter if its speaker or on my ear and it dies around 25-30%. Using flashpoint kernel now and it does the same as ram kernel. Only kernel ive used with no issues was stock kernel but i have xposed installed and rooted and alot of my rooted apps dont work because the kernel is enforcing.please if anyone who deals with making kernels point me to the right direction or if i can pay you too do this i would be a happy camper.

Best kernel for stock rom

What is the best kernel for tw rom?
I need performance and battery life.
I don't use fingerprint.
stock kernel
For me it's Boeffla Kernel.
What about Sparkplug?
At the moment i'm, using smartpack kernel. Working stable. You can un dervolt and set the RGB Level. Useful for Nightviewing.
But if you don't need any extgras i would prefer stock kernel. Good Battery, performance and stability.
I use stock kernel with Superlite stock rom. I noticed that phone is very hot sometime
Thread moved to Q&A
I flashed the last stock CRA2 with stock kernel and it is very good

Question about custom kernels, and whether I actually need one

Hey guys
So I've been rocking Franco Kernel since I first rooted, but now I'm considering rooting without a custom kernel after updating to OOS 10. However, there are a few settings I want to be able to tweak and I'm wondering if I can do that on a stock OOS kernel
Basically, on Franco Kernel Manager the things I tweak most depending on my needs are:
1) CPU / GPU governor, to interactive, conservative, powersave or performance
2) CPU / GPU maximum frequency
3) Cores, sometimes I disable some when in a low battery emergency
Is it possible to change these settings with FK Manager on OOS's stock kernel? While being rooted of course
