Hi all.
My Nexus 7 is flashed with DU 5.0.2 and charging is very slow. This was also the same when I had XenonHD flashed. It charges so slow that it discharges faster than it charges. I do not know what to do. I heard about flashing a fast charge kernel but heard flash charge was only for usb devices like laptops.
All we need a basic feature to be enabled / developed by developers to kernel i.e Charge rate control.
Other features can be focused after this.
The most wanted feature we want from kernel is fast charge support.
Option to enable 2.1 or 2. 4 Amp charge input.
All other features are secondary.
To fully charge redmi 3s takes 3hrs. with input of 1.4 Amp.
Please work specially over this feature.
Whats your opinion?

Use Eximious Kernel ,Its capable with fast charge ,took 1hr45min from 30-100, You have to turn on usb fast charge by Kernel auditor . But dnt try to flash any custom kernel with miui base rom.

usb fast charge and quick charge are two different things. usb fast charge let you charge from pc like with regular charger and quick charge let you charge faster using fast charge charger.... stock charger is limited to 2A and no kernel implementation can change it....
Hi, guys, I'm facing with low charging rate problem, everytime it says that it's charging over USB, even when I'm charging over AC. The charging rate is always under 500 mA. I've tried a lots of ROMs (Pixel Experience, AEX, RR, Nougat-based MIUI, stock MIUI 9.2.2.0) no difference, plz help.
Change u r charging adapter
It gives better result for u
Use "Anker PowerPort+ 1 Quick Charge 3.0" it's currently not available but i used this charger from last 6-7 months. Its fast!

I hv't use yet. But yes I hv seen it on YouTube that with Franko kernel mi A1 take 30 minutes less time to charge from 0 to 100% compare to official stock kernel.

The MiA1 wasn't designed for fast charge so the battery will probably fail sooner.

This is not true at all. There's no special "quick charge battery" installed in phones that support quick charge. The SD625 supports QC 3.0 (it's listed right on the official qualcomm website), Xiaomi just decided to exclude the functionality in their kernel. That being said, I would make sure the phone is placed in an open area to make sure heat is dissipated well while quick charging. I would also only use quick charging on an as need basis. Putting it on a quick charger at the end of the day, every single day, just to sit at 100% most of the night is kinda pointless. A slower charger would be a better choice for over night charging if you're really concerned about battery health. These same tips would also apply to phones with QC support OOB.

Wrong. Fast charging is not just a function of the SOC but requires a different battery chemistry and improved charging algorithms built into the battery and charger itself. Heat is not the only problem with fast charging as you are alluding. Hammering the battery with a 'forced' fast charge is a good recipe for killing the battery prematurely.
I have pixel experience on my mi A1 and moun kernel .. and charging speed is really slow .. is there any fix for that ?
