Fingerprint scanner not being detected after update - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

I was using crDroid and when I updated the fingerprint scanner wasn't being detected. I tried formatting, going back to the previous version, and switching to another rom but nothing worked.

Try using the firmware update zip. It might fix the fingerprint. Its on arrow os forum 2nd post.

My fingerprint is not working after I flashed stock Oreo via ADB after using PE 9.0. Someone help.

Hi,
I ve tried everything I know but the OnePlus 2 of a friend no longer boots CM based ROMs and camera and much Sensors wont work anymore....
does anyone know why this is or how to fix it?
I really THANK YOU for answers!
revert back to OOS2.x via TWRP [latest version is 3.0.2.0].
once you have installed OOS2.x reboot to recovery and flash CM13+GApps [download latest one from opengapps.org].

No Stock ROM can not be flashed via twrp, only the OTA zips can be flashed via stock Recovery. This is the link to the fastboot ROM.

As I mentioned above. Moreover you can flash UnSU and then root using Magisk. Magisk allows hiding root detection for Safetynet.

Assuming that you have set up adb/fastboot drivers, extract all the rom files to that folder and type in the commands mentioned here :

I unlocked the bootlader and rooted the phone before giving it to my wife. During that whole process, fastboot had no problems recognizing the phone (obviously). Then my wife tried to update via the OTA which got her stuck in TWRP. I'd like to reflash the stock ROM, but the problem I have is I can't use fastboot to do commands line by line (as shown in the link above) since "fastboot devices" doesn't show my phone anymore. I was able to get her going on a custom ROM for now, but I'd like to put her back on the stock ROM so we won't encounter this problem again. I've reinstalled the Motorola driver several times, but no luck. ADB has no problems recognizing the phone when in recovery. One thing that happened recently was a big update to Windows 10, but I'm not sure if that is the reason for my fastboot issues.
I intend to give it a go on another computer once I get the phone again from the wife, but any advice until then would be appreciated.
Thanks. I've installed a custom ROM but im not happy with the results (specially the poor camera performace). Will this "undo" everything? I mean, stock apps, stock widgets, etc etc? (don't care if the bootloader stays unlocked and the warning moto message while booting). I know this may be a stupid question, but like Homer would say: "it's my first day"

Just a follow up to my previous post, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Motorola driver and ADB on the original computer, but for some reason it still won't "see" the phone in fastboot. I was able to install ADB/Fastboot and the Motorola driver on a separate computer (also Windows 10) to get fastboot to recognize the phone so I could issue commands to reinstall the stock firmware. I noticed, though, that the following commands FAILED when I entered them:
fastboot erase customize
fastboot erase clogo
I'm not sure what those were for, but the phone seems to be working fine on the stock firmware now.
I flashed the one in the retail folder and it says ret-EU in the settings so flash that one

Can't get Resurrection Remix to install

So i wanted to try RR, but can't get it too install for some reason. I've been able to flash LineageOS, but every time I try RR I get an error message in TWRP.
Wondering what steps anyone with success has used. I followed the same steps as if I were installing LineageOS.
Thanks~
When I installed RR on my LG G2 a long time ago, it let me reduce the haptic vibration. Wonder if it would do this on the PH-1 too.

I unlocked the bootloader today, I was trying to install RR with twrp 6 and the other one that is on the root guide section. They won't install it. I tried with the 7 one and bingo. The only issue I'm facing I can't get twrp to stick, is either twrp or wifi gets broken.

Here is what you do.
From your ADB folder
Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
fastboot -w (completely wipes the device)
fastboot flash boot twrp.img (flashes TWRP, I renamed mata7 to twrp to make it easier)
Reboot into TWRP
adb shell twrp sideload (this starts sideload in TWRP)
adb sideload lineage-14.1-20171130_060947-UNOFFICIAL-mata.zip (this flashes the latest RR)
adb sideload magisk_14.3_invisiblekhax.zip (this is magisk that is tweaked properly)
Then reboot. Do no reflash TWRP as you have no reason to, and it breaks stuff.
This will work everytime, I've jumped from RR to Lineage to XenonHD without any issues at all.

Is there a trick to get it working or is it not on RR?

You have to flash the ROM again and magisk the one invisiblek provided. WiFi gets broken because you flashed twrp.

Yes. The steps that Turbojugend posted are just one way of doing it. You can also just download the ROM to ur phone, then wipe, and flash it in TWRP. The only adb step u need is to flash TWRP, if u haven't done that already. If u want root, just make sure u flash Invisiblek's hacked Magisk version, which saves u from having to flash Magisk to the other partition, and keeps the boot.img intact.

So all this can be done from slot A?

So I finally got to Oreo, flashed magisk in twrp and got the black screen

I tried to restored a nandroid backup which didnt work, I then tried to lock and unlock bootloader thinking recovery would reset original image and that didnt work and now its wiped. Any suggestions as I'm looping into bootloader screen and I cant even push an image using adb.

Yes, my phone is wiped and no OS on it either. Thats probably why its going back to fastboot. Is my only choice to unbrick? Which as I'm seeing would require me to go to hydrogen os before even being able to go to oxygen os?

Even with it wiped, if you have TWRP installed and no OS you should still boot back into recovery, not fastboot. I would still try installing TWRP again, use the codeworkx version, seems to work best for most people.
