Hardware issue or software ? - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

Hey guys so right from the stock rom latest update I've been experiencing a bug where the touch screen doesn't respond for like 2 minutes if the phone is kept unused for like 12 hours. No touch input is registered during that time but the fingerprint and other buttons work fine. It's the same for me on custom roms. Using the 3gb variant here. Anyone experience this?

I am using the 6 GB variant and never experienced this. Do gestures/zenmotion work or are they not responsive too?

[Q] touchscreen sensitivity

Hi all,
would like to ask for advice. I've been on my N4 for close to a year, but recently I've been having some touchscreen issues. on occasion, my nav bar alone does not respond to touch and would require a reboot. On other occasions, the whole screen does not respond and requires also a reboot. Most of the time, a single reboot would solve the issue, but sometimes it requires 2 or 3. Also, there is a particular area on the screen where the touchscreen sensitivity is essentially non-existent (i.e. any button at that area cannot be activated). has anyone ever encountered a similar issue and whats your fix? I'm rooted on PSX and hellscore.
thanks!
I had have had problems with the sensitivity. I flashed another rom and it was fixed. So it was a rom related issue.

Random touchscreen after 4.4 update

Hi,
I've just updated to 4.4.2 and my screen is acting crazy, when I touch in one point the screen reacts in a bigger area somewhere else. For example it presses all three bottom buttons at the same time, while i aim totally different area ;/
Any one has/had the same issue ?
While I don't have the exact same issue as you, I do have some random ghost touches and gestures being"interrupted" so to speak. It's pretty annoying cleaning the screen up a bit and lock/unlock it kind of goes away temporarily only to return. I had this issue with stock 4.2.2 as well though. For whatever reason I don't exhibit the same issues on aosp based Roms. I know others have had issues with touch as well with varying degrees. Perhaps the touch screen driver in the stock kernels just don't like me. Lol. Sorry nothing that really helps but take it fwiw. Yours sounds pretty extreme. Did you have any issues with it prior to the update?

Part of my Nexus 4 touchscreen unresponsive

I have originally asked the same question in purity rom thread but the issue comes again after half month.
Part of my touchscreen suddenly becomes unresponsive.
I have to swipe hardly on the screen in order to unlock my phone by pattern.
For the past few occurrence, the issue is gone when I charge my phone for a short period of time and the touchscreen is OK.
I am not sure if it is a rom (latest purity 4.4.2 rom 14/04), kernel (hellscore b46t4), app (touch control, nova launcher, LMT launcher) or hardware issues. I also have my SGP screen protector used over a year. Not sure what really happened.
I have flashed also franco and matr1x kernel but the issue persists.
I am charging my phone and hope the issue will be gone:crying:
My warranty is over and I really hope that was just a software problem.
I am with latest 4.4.2 purity rom, hellscore b46t4.
I have attached 2 screenshot from YAMTT and here is a screen recording video.

If anyone experienced anything similar, please help.:fingers-crossed:
Thanks everyone
The problem comes again today.
I locked and unlocked the screen and sometimes the phone is have problems like nexus 7 2013 ghost touch problem.
Really furious
Hardware problem. Touchscreen partial failure, maybe due to overheating. Replace touchscreen.
Mine started doing this in the same area last month. I was able to enable autorotation under accessability, so now if I need to select something in a dead spot I rotate it and its no longer in a dead spot, well, usually.

Display problem

Hello there.
I'm proud new user of Nexus 6p but I already have a problem. I updated it to 7.1.1 and rooted the device. Now chrome constantly crashes (Aw snap problem) and also facebook sometimes show strange image.
Screenshots attached.
Anybody else have this problem?
i love my 6p and am also a proud owner of this beast.
but i also have troubles with my display, it is abit similar to yours, i have occasional graphical glitches and it always freaks the hell outta me.
i hate those glitches , i had a split screen bug on my Moto Nexus 6 as well and using a specific custom kernel called Lean kernel always solved that problem for me.
but currently nothing fixes this on my nexus 6p , except the 6p of mine thankfully does not have that split screen bug but instead it has some other occasional hiccups with graphic glitches.
and i think it is because of the cold temperatures, but i am not so sure.
Cold temperatures can't be a problem with mine couse i work inside so there is no cold
I tried with elementalX kernel and the problem is still here.
chrome gives me the most graphical glitches , but it does not happen often.
it can still get annoying , and i also have a keyboard issue with chrome (been months now) the keyboard issue is, i cant delete characters i have enetered in the search fields of whatever website i am at.
like when i press backspace to wanting to delete words it just wont do it, annoying bug with chrome i am sure of it, as i have tried other browsers and they dont do that with the keyboard backspace not deleting characters.
maybe we should both switch browsers, but the thing is i always go back to chrome :l
hope your issue gets solved too, maybe try a custom based nougat rom and you wont see that issue with chrome anymore (as for the fb app, it is a battery killer i would advice to just use the chrome app to open up your fb account).
Tried with firefox but the problem is still there.
Will try and get myself different rom for weekend and test it.
So you say that facebook is battery killer. Thanks for the info.
Update:
Installed Pure nexus rom - problem still there
Installed CM 14.1 - problem still there
I have no idea what is cousing this problem. Is it possible that the problem is hardware related and not software?

Navigate to Settings/Developer Options/Webview Implementation then switch to "Chrome." See if you still notice these issues.

Problem with Moto G 5 Plus Haptic Feedback

Hello everybody. I'm having an annoying issue with my Moto G 5 Plus wich started recently.
Sometimes when I'm using the keyboard, the low vibration every key does instantly deactivates, including the response of the fingertrip sensor (it still works but it wont vibrate too). After a couple of minutes or hours it starts working again as it should be.
I have the Amazon Ads & Offers version, so I cannot root it yet, I think, and I'm pretty sure its a software issue, as I've seen more posts of the same problem in the Lenovo forums.
Using the phone on secure mode havent presented this problem yet.
Any advice or solution?
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. It restarts working if I use one of the Moto Action, for example camera gesture. Sometimes also restart working randomly, as you said. But I've searched some fix, but I didn't found nothing. I'm on potter_n (European model with NFC) so it should be a software bug, but it happens too randomly to say this :/
The only probable cause could be the hot weather of these days.
Did you found something?
Same issue, rooted .
It's probably an issue with the haptic motor. I've had this issue for the past several months, both on stock and custom ROMs. From what I know, it's not an uncommon issue on Potter.
