Hi folks, I recently searched for some root guides for Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 & noticed that all of them tell us to flash decrypt.zip & completely disable Android's automatic encryption feature. On my previous phone The Redmi Note 3, I was using a custom ROM named SlimROM because I wanted stock experience & whenever I wanted to mount the encrypted data partition in TWRP, all I had to do was enter the password in TWRP. But on Zenfone Max Pro M1, the unofficial TWRP that i installed refuses to mount the encrypted partition even if I input the right password. This means I'm forced to disable encryption altogether to flash stuff on data partition which was not the case on Redmi Note 3. Is there a recovery that can mount encrypted data partition with correct password? Also, is there a way to disable the "bootloader unlocked" warning? I remember my old motorola phone also had that warning but there was a hack on XDA I flashed to disable it, can't find something similar for Zenfone Max Pro M1
I don't think anyone has compiled a TWRP that can decrypt Android Pie; for some reason nobody thinks it's important to encrypt their phone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ For stock, a Taiwanese used to compile one with every ota that breaks decryption and upload to the MEGA folder here but he hasn't done so for the latest firmware .338 yet. I'd advise you stay with .337 if you need to decrypt your data in TWRP.

Hi there. I am a proud user of the 910F and i am looking for a TWRP recovery able to decrypt data partitions. Is there any? Found none, till now...
To do what?

I want to encrypt my data partition and i want to access it via twrp. This is totally normal for so many other devices. I do not know why the note 4 community is always wondering about...
Kind regards
I've been curious as to whether or not I can use device encryption (root '/' filesystem encryption + SD card encryption via dm / luks / whatever android uses) and still be able to use TWRP, custom ROMs (I am using RR 6 w/ tuned kernel for s5 based on los 15)? When I boot into recovery TWRP, do I just simply enter my passphrase to unlock the partitions on the device such as root and sd card, or is there some other trick to it?
I don't want to encrypt to find out I screwed the pooch. I have searched various forums but for one reason or another been unable to find a good answer.
Thanks in advance,

Any rom that fully supports selinux is able to use encryption and the latest version of twrp can decrypt it
It will ask for you to enter your decrypt key to decrypt data
Lineage 15.1 (and roms based on it) support encryption
The test versions of lineage 16 currently at time of writing don't support selinux (but will once they become official)
Thanks, I will perform a TWRP full system backup, copy it to computer, and then give the full encryption a try.
Hi guys
I currently have stock encryption on my phone and running lineageos 16. I want to trebleize my phone. On one thread it says that I should format data to remove encryption but on others it doesn't say to.
Can anyone confirm that I have to remove my encryption?
Thanks
Yes, you should format data via TWRP to remove encryption
Device Encryption
good afternoon guys I need help with my redmi note 7, I already did the unlock but I can not install twrp, when I do the installation and boot, go to the encryption password screen, so that does not recognize my password and can not undo The encryption, my note 7 was with version 10.3.6 EEA, I installed the Global version 10.3.10 and still did not remove the encryption, already updated to the latest version and does not work.
I can't undo device encryption and install twrp .. I did all the procedures I found and it didn't work.
It seems like even if it says not enough space, data has been transferred to SD though
i think you have to format data partition
u need to factory reset from twrp NOTE , there is a difference between formating the data partition and factory reseting to remove encryption
I have following files
Decrypt
Firmware
Rom
Gapps
Magisk
SuperSU
In which order I must flash it
What is use of those files
What if I miss any of that file flashing
If I want to take back up from TWRP which section I should take backup
What to do to backup IMEI and other important stuff, can we get it back if we do not have back up
bump !
same issue.
after flashing havoc pie and gapps
it goes into blank screen and nothing happens.
Don't know why is this happening and seems like max pro m1 xda threads are dead, nobody replies anymore.
made big mistake buying this device in this flipkart sale

Decrypt is only required for stock rom, unless otherwise mentioned.
1) firmware
2) rom
3) magisk/SuperSU
4) gapps
5) decrypt
To flash decrypt, go back and mount vendor then flash decrypt otherwise your data will be encrypted and the only way to decrypt is to delete all of your data.
Having a backup of efs partition (imei) is always a good idea.

do you know anything about f2fs partition ? is it recommend to use in 2019 ?
Heard good things about it and want to use it but some bad things like quicker data corruption and slower data transfer speed after year or so makes me worried, share if you know anything.

I am currently using f2fs on havoc. Personally, I don't see much of a difference compared to ext4. Gamers will know better.
