I've got a problem with SMS (message) rington. In settings, sound section I've got SMS rington and deafult sound notifictation. In SMS I've got diffrend sound and in deafult sound notifictation I have diffrent. Sound. When I get SMS I hear only a rington from deafult sound notifictation section, not from SMS rington. How to setup SMS sound?
Which SMS program is the "default"? The one that comes with the OP6T, or the one you installed?
Had the same problem...clear data and cache from messages app. Solved it for me.

How can I get my xda to make a sound when a sms message arrives ?
Have ticked the box in sounds and notifications for new sms message but still it remains quiet when a message arrives.
When you select the soundfile for a SMS-message and press the "play-button" to preview it, does it sound then?
If not, the file could be in a format that your PDA can't play.
It sounds absolutely fine using the test button, just doesn't work for an incoming message.

how can i add more sms incoming tones i want to have a personalized tones for my sms.
put your sms tone in the \windows directory. not in the \windows\rings directory.

I installed and have been using the palm threaded sms but i get no notification of new text msg. I have checked under sounds and notifications everything has sounds applied to it. Any ideas?

You're not on Silent Profile are you?
setting-> sound notifcation->text message or messaging (palm threaded)

I dont know when or why this has happened, but suddenly my sms sound was gone. I read some threads that referred to this happening because threaded sms was disabled the wrong way. But i have threaded SMS enabled, aswell in settings as in HD tweak. I turned in settings - sounds & notifications on: Events Programs and Notifications. Although i originally had those switched off because i dont want those sounds. With that turned on now when i get a text message I hear: Boss you have a new message. Like wtf... I just want the original SMS sound back. Can anyone help me? Btw i Run Dutty's rom 1.7

No sound, no vibration on sending/receiving SMS
Yeap, same problem here! No sound, no vibration anymore. I did a hard reset just to have the sound/vibration again. After sending one SMS, same old sh...!
==> Edit: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings and change "SMSAvailable" to dword:0 causes the problem! Setting the d-word to 1 brings back sound as well as vibration!

What is the ringtone you have selected ? Make sure that ringtone file is available under the Windows folder.
By trial and error, I found that SMS ringtones are picked up from Windows folder only, whereas all the other tones (incoming call, reminder etc) are picked up from Windows/Rings or My Documents/My Ringtones folders. I could be wrong - or have a bug in my HD - but this works for me ....

I formatted my phone recently. I am facing a peculiar problem which i was NOT facing before formatting(factory reset by volume down button).
The problem is:
Whenever i send a sms, i get delivery reports as well.
Now the problem is that i get to hear the same sound for the delivery reports as well as the incoming sms notifications. Before formatting, it was just normal notification sound, but now both are same. I have checked all the settings too. Whichever sound i select for incoming sms, i hear same sound for the delivery report.
Help me with this guys.

Have you tried "messages-->menu-->settings-->notifications-->uncheck Sent notification" ? or just set the sent messages notification sound in the same menu...if you had a custom sound for sms it could have been lost with the factory reset..
"Sent notification" is already unchecked. And the incoming sms alert i have set is from HTC sound set only. Still i get the same sound at the time of receving delivery report.

Eg. when i receive the text and i open the message and the ringtone still plays until it finishes. i can't mute/stop it and it get's annoying as i want to quickly silence it at times!
Any info/advice would be great!
