Hi guys, I have a problem with my mi a1. After updating to Android pie, I wanted to downgrade system, so I started flashing with mi flash, but with any system image with Android 8.1 a have boot loop, after installing Android 8.0 mi a1 turn on and works properly but it tells me to insert sim card, which is already in (phone doesnt see sim card). And after updating form 8.0 to 8.1 with November security patch I also get boot loop. What can I do? Will my mi a1 make it? Is there something I can do?

It's written everywhere to not downgrade!
Please read somewhere before doing something!

I rooted my Mi A1 and was on December 1st update.
So I had free time just now and decided to flash stock rom and update to December 2nd update.
As I was using Mi Flash tool to flash the ROM, it somehow stopped working and I don't think it flashed the ROM properly.
My phone has been in bootloop state since then with the bootloader unlocked warning screen.
Been trying to flash the ROM but Mi Flash tool kept stopped working randomly when I flash the ROM.
I tried the following with no outcome:
1) Boot into TWRP and factory reset
2) Boot into stock recovery and wipe data/factory reset
3) Flash stock ROM via Mi Flash tool (stopped working randomly, but it shows success flashing screen, just that the phone doesn't reboot)
4) Tried different version of Mi Flash tool (beta and non-beta), all stopped working randomly
5) Restarted my PC (still Mi Flash problem)
Extra info that might help:
As I am in TWRP, I can see that my phone internal storage is empty with only 1 folder (TWRP)
My bootloader is still unlocked till now
Have you tried flashing Jamflux's fastboot image of the oreo stable ROM?

Anyway, good to see that you figured it out
Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my redmi 3s after the weekly update. The system doesn't boot up properly and stops. Is there any way to get help directly from xiaomi? How could I bring back my phone to live? If i connect the phone with MIAssistant it could update the phone with an OTA file. How could I get this OTA file and can I update the system with it without delete the userdata?
Thanks.
Same problem here... any update on this?
I know simple answer is just flash it with mi flash tool but i have problem with that tooo.
My Mia1 was rooted with @JamFlux prerooted system image and i was on oreo 8.1.10
now after availability of stock fastboot files i just flashed and locked my bootloader and i intend to keep it that way.
problem is after flashing new image through mi flash tool and locking bootloader i started from scratch without restore option.
i installed BHIM app, and that app still says my device is rooted
i dont know what is problem but my guess is that old rooted oreo build is still there.
so how do i find that which partition is active and how do i proceed that everything is formatted and i dont have to deal with that error again.
Please have a look here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/how-to/ota-official-fastboot-image-n2g47h-7-12-t3728929
i know that and even i checked .bat file from official image which flashes both partition. but i am still not able to solved device rooted prompt that is coming from app best part is no other app is able to detect root.
Hi all,
Last week i received my new MI A1. IT worked perfectly during 3 days, with 2 OTA updates to Android 8. (December and January OTA i remember)
Then, one night my MI A1 just shutdown itself without doing anything (i was sleeping)
And in the morning i tryed to reboot it but i had everytime a freeze and reboot when it asked to enter my PIN CODE. (i tryed without my SIM it was the same, big freeze and reboot)
Si i went to the MI website (xiaomifirmware.com/roms/download-official-roms-xiaomi-mi-a1/) to download the XiaoMiFlash Tools and the ROM (Android 8.0.0 Oreo (OPR1.170623.026.8.1.10) | Fastboot)
It worked to flash the MI A1 but i cannot start the phone, i had the Screen ENCRYPTION UNSUCCESFULL
When i clicked to Resert the phone, it reboot and came to the same screen. (I can host a video if ou want to see)
I've tryed to use FASTBOOT Unlock / TWRP 3.1 to wipe the system but still the same.
Do you have any idea please ?
Thank you in advance for your help
Mathieu

Can you try with a different firmware? Android Nougat?
Hi,
I've tested with Nougat (tissot_images_7.8.23_20170823.0000.00_7.1_61cf97d794) as flash and lock.
and that doesn't work. Still in like a bootloop.
i've tried also to go through twrp 3.2.1 but a a little bit lost.
Which FULL ROM do i need to take as ZIP file in TWRP ?
Also, do i need a SD CARD to completly reinstall Android ?
thanks in advance.

Can you repeat your question about twrp?
You can try to flash lineage os 15.1 with latest twrp-oreo and see if that works.

Nope. Lineage ROM can be stored in internal storage and flashed. Also, if you aren't able to solve the encryption issue, I suggest you to go to your nearest service center and get help. They do it for free, even if you're rooted or modified the system.

Thanks for the answer.
I cannot go to service center because i'm in France.
I've tryed to flash Lineage15.1 but doesnt work.
May be an idea, i've seen in TWRP that i don't have a cache partition. Is that normal ? If not, how do i create it ?
Flash your device from edl mode
If doesnt work it seems that your emmc is faulty
Many huawei phones with faulty emmc shows such this encryption failed message and by changing emmc become functional
Managed to brick my A1. The only screen its able to go to is either fastbook, or recovery. And even then, doesn't always necessarily boot into recovery, have to plug into computer and go into command prompt (fastboot boot oreo_3.2.2_recovery.img) to get it into TWRP.
Currently can't seem to flash *any* roms, I have a stock rom ("tissot_100108_stock" cant remember where i got it from). Which successfully flashes, but then on reboot gets stuck on the Android One screen. Longest i have waited before giving up is an hour. Even when i flash this rom and reboot, i get a message on TWRP saying "No OS installed"
Tried doing this: [wont let me post link] (MiFlash) method and got an error, basically does not work.
Super frustrated, at my wits end, would just like to flash stock rom and sell this thing or let it sit in a drawer at this point. Thanks in advance.
same problem here...
I have the exact same issue and also came here for that to ask for help.
Xiaomi Mi A1 was running 8.1 OTA updated and then I tried to flash Lineage, but it did not work. I wiped my phone and now it can't install anything, not via TWRP nor with Mi Flash.
I hope we can find a solution.

hopefully! i posted on the xiaomi subreddit but no help. i was on 8.0 when i started this whole misadventure.
I got somewhere, I think.
I went into TWRP, switched from B to A booting. It then starts Android but gets stuck in the boot screen of Android one with the colored bar.
I then tried MiFlash again, going directly to the folder which containts the .bat files. It started flashing it finally.
I am back to a working system.
Let me know if it works for you.
you guys should try flashing the latest stock rom 8.1 July running the bat file of your choice located in the factory image through fastboot
the different custom recoveries and miflash are sometimes buggy
run the script directly on fastboot
