I have noticed that my 6T doesn't display dark grey colors properly. The left side of the screen is darker than the right. This is noticable when using dark mode in apps like youtube or twitter and in the pull down menu.
On 5% grey the pixels on the left side turn off completely, while there is a brighter stripe in the middle. Should I request a replacement for the phone or is this a common issue? It would suck if the replacemnt turns out to be worse.
Sounds faulty, I'd get it RMA'd. My screen is beautiful with no such imperfections.
The usual amoled lottery. Sometimes you get lucky other times not. This time around I got lucky and scored a jackpot. You can request a replacement but it's not guaranteed they will accept. Just cancel the purchase then and buy a new one instead. You might get a worse one though if you are unlucky. It's just the way it is with amoled.

It doesn't seem my PM gets through to you? I can't see my reply anyway. I'll post the image here also. The camera makes it look a tiny bit uneven nothing like yours though but I can't really see that with my own eyes it looks pretty much perfect in real life.

My display is progressively showing a mostly white, "washed out" display. It goes from completely normal to the washed out screen you can see in the attached pictures. (two "washed out" screens, followed by two normal) It happens much more frequently in portrait mode. When it first started happening, if I would open the keyboard just a little bit, the "white" would go away and the display would be nice and bright like it should be. At the time, it made me suspect the flex cable, so I disassembled the Hermes and made sure all connections are tight. That did not fix it and it is getting worse. Applying pressure to certain parts of the outside of the device can sometimes cause this to happen, other times it's completely random. Can anyone confirm if it is the LCD or flex cable? I don't mind replacing a part if I can be sure of the problem, but I don't want to waste my time and money if I can't be SURE it will fix the problem.
NO, I can not send it back to AT&T for warranty repair.

I thought the screen looked pretty good until I played this video and noticed the grass didn't look right. Then I played it on my XYBoard 8.2 and WOW what a difference! The XYBoard has an IPS screen just like the N7, so I'm not comparing it to a Super AMOLED, just another screen of the same technology.
I should mention that both are at max brightness. And it's not that the N7's screen is just brighter, because the whites on the XYBoard's screen are actually brighter than the whites on the N7's screen.
I'm wondering if there is some way to adjust the contrast and saturation...
XYBoard is top, N7 is bottom:

Happens after HD playback. There's a script you run to fix it. Also I would love some contrast and color control as well...

I too find that my nexus lacks contest and- to a lesser extent- saturation.

as per the other thread on this , if you are rooted and dont mind paying for the app here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.widgets.big.tegra.prism.toggle
it fixes it.. i noticed quite a difference..
Try a test-card image and you'll probably see that yellows, green and cyan are really weak. I'm pretty sure this relates to the badly calibrated screens mentioned here: http://www.displaymate.com/news.html#8 and all devices have it.
So my N10 replacement arrived due to my first N10 (haven't returned it yet) having some minor light leakage. Right after the first boot on the new N10, there's a single pernament blackline across the screen. Checked if there was light leakage, and found it to be much worst than my first N10.
Anyways, I decided to take a photo of the black line with my DSLR. After a few shots, and then looking back at the screen, there were now 2 black lines. I decided to take a few more shots, and while I was looking at the screen, a 3rd line popped up before my eyes.
Lines are predominately black, but sometimes, depending on the background, the lines will have some brighter colors.

Gona send the replacement back. Just to be on the safe side, keeping the first N10 since its working perfectly fine and the light leakage is easily tolerable. What do you guys think caused this to happen?
Strange! Maybe it was damaged during shipping.

Google may track via serial number the devices they send, so you may want to let them know first in case they realize you sent the replacement back.

So it finally happened, i've only had the device for 2 weeks and this morning I watched it plummet towards the pavement..
Fortunately, the phone has very minor cosmetic damage. Just a few scuffs around the metal band but for the past few hours the screen has been acting weird. All of the "black" on the screen seems to have grey vertical lines in random places, i've ran some colour testing apps and every other colour is perfect, all but black.
What do I do? Is there a ribbon loose inside of it or does it look like I need to replace the whole screen?
EDIT: Looks to be the same sort of situation as this:

Unfortuanly I don't gave a way of taking a picture, it looks like some of the colour is just leaking vertically. But yet everything on the screen still seems pretty good, which leads me to think I might not need to replace the whole screen?
So guys I'm kinda worried, I just got an s8 today and check this picture from contacts:
https://ibb.co/nLKobQ
As you see, the most left part (that is usually all black on most applications) is darker than the rest. Is your s8 like this as well or just mine? Not sure if its supposed to be like this or I should have it replaced. Thanks!

It's supposed to be that way. You can choose what color you want the navigation bar to be and the default is off-white.

Thanks! Was gettin worried...
That's normal though. As tharghan mentioned the navigation bar is off-white by default (which is sort of like a VERY light gray) and this helps prevent burn-in.
It's most likely not going to become an issue as soon as on other phones like the 6P and Pixel since the navigation bar and buttons consistently change color when you switch apps. If you notice the navigation buttons are white on the home screen but they turn dark gray once you go into an app.
