Yota development?

Looking at the new Yota phone, will there be any development (root, ROMs, themes etc) for this device?
Has it already begun or are developers waiting?
I am thinking about getting one (the device) so I wanted to know about tweaks I could potentially start with, root being the first.

i have honestly not heard about this device and its looks pretty cool! i cant wait to see what development we might get for it.
I'm also very interested in the Yotaphone
As of now, it is available in Germany.
I really want to get one, I'm just waiting for the first user reviews an especially wheter the phone can be rooted and the reading app FBReader will be re-configured to work with the eink screen.
Hopefully, Framaroot will be able to root the phone and from a comment on FRReader's Facebook page, it seems that the Devs are collaborating with the Yota team to make FBReader compatible.
Good news: FBReader has been updated!
1.9.4:
* Added support for YotaPhone e-ink screen
link to Play Store
hopefully, the first users getting their Yotaphone can try it out and report back
And as FBreader is open source (GitHub), lets hope that more and more devs use their code and calls to the yota library to support the e-ink screen in their apps
Root
According to a Russian Board, the Yotaphone can indeed be rooted throug Framaroot (by using the Gandalf exploit intendet for Qualcomm SoCs)
Source
Lets just hope that the bootloader is unlocked and we can access Fastboot or something similar.
IMO we don't even need full ROMs as the Yotaphone is running vanilla Android that could easily be tweaked throug the Xposed Framework and something like GravityBox
Hello guys, im having my yota phone now!
see attachment,
and i can confirm that i am rooted by gandalf exploit framaroot.
Would def appreciate a review ))

Could U tell me, which version of gandalf exploit framaroot U used to root Yotaphone? I really need this information for my Yotaphone.

Ok, guys! I've just rooted my Yotaphone. android 4.2.2.
I need big favour now. I can choose only MTP and PTP connection. So far I couldn't found any good soft to mass storage connections.
Can I install any additional soft? For Example: "USB Mass Storage Enabler" was really close to connect "Mass storage mode" but after I choose "Mass storage mode" I don't see MTP connection on computer screen and nothing more.
Disable (uncheck) 'USB debug mode' that might bring mtp back.
Alternatively, freeze the enabler app and see if that brings mtp back.

Rooted
I was able to root the yotaphone with Kingo root. Activated Xposed installer and Gravitybox. No problems were encountered during that but after trying for system upgrade, it failed and now phone keeps restarting. Going for factory reset now.

Reboot was because of lazyswipe. As soon as i installed after formatting, it again started rebooting. Uninstalling solved it later on.

me too have installed Root, Xposed with:
Gravitibox
YouTube AdAway
Yotaphone 2 - 4.4.3 KK
no problem no reboot no loop
for Yota 1 i dont know! sorry
i have asked Yota Devices for GPL'd kernel sources and their intention to support Custom ROM development in general, but so far I have not heard a real answer from them, just a link to the developer section on their website. That contains info for app-developers, not ROM development (at least at this moment). Maybe if more people ask, they will release sources, which will help development.
Bootloop after Chainfire 3d driver install
Hello all,
I have successfully rooted my Yotaphone c9660 using Kingo Root. I installed the driver in Chainfire 3d application. After that my phone restarted and entered a bootloop . After reading over forums and got to know that the bootloop happened because of the driver. The solution is to remove the library files using adb on the pc. But that requires a recovery like CWM. I have no CWM because I used Kingo. I dont think the phone also has a default recovery. Can anyone suggest how to fic the issue.
Thanks in advance!

Hellooo.
Is it possible to access the bootloader / download mode in this model? If so then you could attempt to unlock the bootloader, then look around and see if someone made a custom recovery like cwm or twrp. If someone has then you can flash that and attempt what you need to do.
Good luck.

[Q] UK Lg Optimus L3 E400 Rooting Problem

I have searched everywhere and I think this phone is unable to be rooted. I have discovered the UK version of this phone has a locked down bootloader that will not allow me to gain access any way I try. The phone is running Gingerbread 2.3.6, Build No. GRK39F, Kernel Version 2.6.38.6-perf+ and does not have a su.bin on the phone, nor will it allow me access to put one on it. I get permission denied when i try to remount the partition as r/w. When I try to unlock the bootloader, the phone does reboot but not into bootloader mode. This phone only has a hard reset. No other boot modes (just the factory reset). Chmod/chown will not allow me to change permissions. No matter which application I have tried, I am unable to flash anything to the device, since I can not gain root access. The adb root command gives me an error message as well "adbd cannot run as root in production builds." I know I may be a noob, but I have done a ton of research and have not found anything that will help me. Does anyone has any sort of information that will help me root this device? It would be greatly appreciated!
What programs did you use ?

are you trying to just root or flash custom rom too ?
did you try SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse.zip ?
did you try vroot ? in my signature (guide too)
if you install root browser it will install basic commands on your phone busybox sqlite etc
also check this out it might be your firmware does not support root and you might need to install v10b or v10c kdz

Yes, I have tried every app. The apps I use are pretty much irrelevant though, since there isn't a su binary to request permission from. without the su binary, no app can gain root access.

superoneclick does not work as it requests permission from the su binary, which does not exist. root browser does not work either, as it does not allow me to change permissions or ownership either. chmod and chown in linux don't work either. I get "permission denied" when attempting those commands. I an currently running on v10c, but I can not flash anything, including firmware, to this device either. There's no way to downgrade or upgrade. I get a parameter error when attempting to and then the kdz updater crashes and forces itself closed every time I have tried.
My phone model is LG Optimus L3 E400. I could fix this by change the default.prop file ro.secure=1 to ro.secure=0, but I can't write to that file. It's read-only and I can't figure out a way to change that.
I'm really about to just throw this phone out. I had no clue that some phones can not be rooted and would have no further research before buying this one.
try this

I don't know what vroot did, but it actually worked. you don't know how long I have spent trying to get this done. so many other programs told me that rooting was complete and didn't actually do anything, that when vroot did, I didn't believe it. I thought i was just stuck with a p.o.s. that I couldn't customize. I really appreciate your hep. Thank you so much!
i did but glad i could help

root your go prime
Go to youtube and type in how to root android with kingroot. Very easy, no computr nreded and it works great. Comes with purify which allows you to get rid of all that nasty bloatware. And a little trick for that phone, if you go into settings then to about phone then find where is says build number and click it 7 times youll activate developer mode. So if you go back to settings youll have a new setting called developer options, in their you can turn on and off usb debugging and even factory unlock your phone for any gsm. Oh yeah one more thing kingroot is completly reversable so it wont void phone warranty.
root your go prime
If you go to google search and search kingroot, one of the links that come up says (all versions) thats yhe one you want. Go to that link and find the download that says latest next to or under the download prompt and download that one. Once its downloaded go to your apps and open it and, then its as simple as clicking the root option. You might have to go in to your accesibility settings and turn on the option that allows you to download app from other places than the play store. I have the same phone and it works great on mine, ive checked root access using a root check app and its legit and its worked on every android phone ive tried it on. So enjoy. And keep me in mind after you root your phone cause im new at this and would like to download a custom rom for nouget 7.0 which i know they have out their for our phone im just not that tech savy so if you figure it out let me know, will greatly appreciate it.

Trouble rooting SM-T537V (Complete Noob!)

Hello everyone,
I am trying to root a SM-T537V, and I am having no success. My end goal is to attempt to run a linux distro on my tablet for fun and to use for my school assignments. I tried KingRoot, which achieved root, but lost it upon reboot. Some more research said this was because the bootloader was locked. I also tried towelroot, and the app seemed to do nothing. I don't mind doing it manually, but I just cant find any steps or information on the process.

Hi there I also have a SM T537 but mine is the AT&T Variant (the other overbearing service provider), I wish I had some advice for you, But I too have only had success in getting temporary root with Kingroot. No other one click rooter has had any success.
My device in question :
Samsung Tab 4
SM-T5337A
Running Android 5.1.1
BUILD # LMY47X.537AUCU1BOJ3
Has any one been able to get permanent root?, or able to point us to the proper thread, or even a “search phrase” to get us on the right path.

S6 Edge+ SM-G928A Root [Q]

HI Everyone ,
I have been trying for a while to Root the device, no hope yet.
I'll let you know what I have tried so far, also I wanted to include some refrences "new here, sorry"
First off I tried with Z3X "Samsung Tool Pro"
to do anything on it but flashing stock Rom not gonna work without Rooting.
the app actually roots some devices automatically and for sure mine is not included
so I tried to manualy root it using other methods:
1- normal well known way flashing auto root file using "Odin3" flashing auto root file downloaded through "chainfire" same issue auto root file is not there.
2- downloaded and installed one click root "website uses just the name, easily found on google" that one is so easy to use!
* just enable debugging mode, connect the phone and click Root. (no Root available now)
3- Downloaded and installed kingOroot "website uses just the name, easily found on google" same steps exactly. and same issue
4- Flashing TWRP;
Download TWRP for S6 edge plus: (I mean Compatible)
dl.twrp.me/zenlte for me flashing fails.
also made sure that OEM is enabled and track phone is diabled.
and definitely USB Debugging mode also enabled.
I've tried some other files "G928A_Root.md5, twrp-3.0.0-0-zenlte-zenlte.img.tar, CF-Auto-Root-zenlte-zenlteub-smg928g.tar.md5, CF-Auto-Root-zenltekx-zenltekx-smg928n0.tar.md5 " also no luck at all.

change the version of twrp?you can download"official twrp app",then choose your device type, it will show the last compatible version for your phone
Is TWRP installed or not? if so, theres a nougat supersu root without kernel install for s6e+
Find any way?
Anyone??!!??
Any updates on this? I've done all the above that op has done as well before stumbling on this post. twrp doesnt have an exact flash for g928a at&t version. only thing that popped up recently is some guy on youtube showing he did it but thats it for his 2 minute video no description and no replies in comments. hoping someone is willing to spill the goods for this specific device to root. Thanks in advance
