Sorry beforehand if there is a thread on here about this but I bought a S7 edge on ebay and I thought I was getting the SM-G935U version. I got sent a SM-G935P but here's my problem... The G935P is the sprint version. It even starts the hands free activation all the time but I was trying to get it on tracfone but the sim card is invalid, so I called sprint and had them run the IMEI but they couldn't find it on their system... I ran the IMEI through IMEI info and it came back as as G930F Galaxy S7 (SM-G935P). Which when I google it, I found a thread here that says the G930F is an international unlocked version but the G935P is a sprint. My Question are, (1) what the hell do I have cuz I tried running the IMEI through all the carriers BYOP and all said not able to use. (2) If i have something useable what carrier can I use? Thanks for any help... edit I found that straight talk has the s7 edge on their network so could i get this working on it?
Just put your sim card in and flash the G935U firmware
Sounds like you got a sprint model that had a imei repair done to it
Got the phone unlocked and was wondering if it was safe to flash the SM-G935T firmware variants on the Sprint S7 Edge. Plan on using this phone on T-Mobiles network.
I know people have converted their SM-G935P to SM-G935U but I can only find the 6.01 version of that. SM-G935T has the 7.0 version (nougat variant)
You ever find an answer to this or give it a try? I want to try to move an S7 Edge from Sprint to T-Mobile soon as well.

Depends on your firmware version. If you go to your firmware version and go 5 digits back, this will give you the answer. If it is a 5 or 6, out are out of luck; if you have a 4, you'll be fine.

If your device is original from Sprint, it's impossible to flash any firmware because is a BINARY 6, and is the unique device on that, so... forget it.
Sprint change the binary to avoid users to modify the device, leave or erase their apps. Once your S7 have the May update/compilation, the device will never be able to root or unlock the bootloader again. or at least until the U variant change the binary to 6 also, but probably will never happend, Samsung hate their US products because of the FCC laws and the terrible rules and conditions of the carriers.
You can only install Original Oreo or downgrade to Nougat with May Update/compilation.
Otherwise sell or change your device for a U variant or an Exynos phone.
I recently bought my s7 edge directly from the samsung website at&t version and got it unlocked to be used on the tmobile network. I tried updating the phone to nougat but at&t software update would say that I am on the latest software which was 6.0.1. I even used a working at&t sim card because I thought maybe you need to be on their network but still it gave me the same thing. Finally I just used odin to update to nougat but I wanted to know if anyone knows why I was not able to update ota?

You are on the international version if you bought it directly from Samsung. They haven't released the international N for the S7 Edge. I know this is frustrating but you aren't the only one. If you can put up with ATTs bloat then go flash the Odin files, they have been released for ATT.

Its Verizon.
The model is SM-G935V
I think the only solution is to change the logic board.
I tried almost every 3rd party unlock site, contacted Samsung and Verizon but no luck.
Ummmmmm I think the u firmware is carrier unlocked and nor does Verizon lock there phones so it should be unlocked dude

The "U" model is the newer model that Samsung introduced on June 30 of 2016. It is UNLOCKED for North American carriers. It will run all of the big 4 (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, & T-Mo) based on which carrier's sim card you put in it. Samsung introduced similar to some of the Motorola models or the Nexus/Pixel models that can be taken from carrier to carrier. That is ONLY true of the 935U. If it does not say U, it is not the North American unlocked model. It was sold directly from Samsung, Best Buy, and other online electronics resellers. None of the four US carriers sold this model since they sold their own model. Because it is not carrier locked, there is very little bloatware. Now having said all that, the bootloader for the "U" version is absolutely locked by Samsung so it cannot be rooted or flashed at this point. That is everything I know at this point. Good luck. The product is reaching end of life, so you should pick one up soon if you want, but you can take it to any carrier in the US.

So you are asking about 935U software running on 935A hardware? That doesn't seem to be what the original post says. Everything I told you was about 935U hardware only. In reviewing your original post, it seems you are asking a hardware question. Nevertheless I wish you all the best with whatever device you have. Good luck.

If the motherboard says 935A, you have the AT&T version that was flashed with the unlocked U firmware. The U firmware can be flashed on any of the US carrier versions. Flashing the U firmware removes the carrier bloatware but it won't unlock the phone. If the phone was fully paid for and not blacklisted as lost or stolen, AT&T should unlock it, otherwise a 3rd party unlock service should be able to provided it's not blacklisted and you tell them it's a 935A, not a 935U.
Hi all. its probably T-MOBILE G935, then check out IMEIFIX.com, if not then Sprint G935P check out IMEIGURUS.
Hi guys,
First i need to say my android knowledge is less coz i am a guy who coming to android from iOS backyard. I recently bought a Samsung galaxy S7 in Singapore. I bought it from a generic shop(not from official Samsung shop)
Unfortunately I got to know from Samsung, this phone is a sim unlock phone which is originally belongs to Sprint USA. Currently It's running Android 6.0.1 and I can use my local Singapore sim. When I check the IMEI number from the web it says the model is "Galaxy S7 G930P". But within the phone settings it says the model number is "SM-G930F".
My question is, If i manually update to stock Android 7 by using Odin tool, will the phone is lock again? Help is highly appreciated
Thanks
It shouldn't. I've done a bunch of Odin flashes since having my 930P unlocked. The only thing that's ever re-locked my phone was inserting any Sprint-based SIM card.
