Hello how are you? with your permission I come to make a query that has to do with android what happens is that I'm trying to do some interesting things with some applications but I need to install touchwiz samsung s5 in android emulator but I have unfortunately tested and does not bring genymotion touchwiz if not the stock android my questions are three:
1. Touchwiz no way to run (maybe the apk without problem) with all applications installed on genymotion.
Two. Maybe you could emulate with touchwiz android files with one out of samobile (where samsung roms saved)
Three., Or could tell me if there is any emulator other than that you can install stock rom
Thanks and sorry if it is not in this forum is that I did not find any roms only development in general
Srorry for my bad english actually i speak spanish
I had the same problem. Helped me to completely reinstall the Genymotion.
Hey there, I've recently bought a Nexus 7 with the latest os already installed on it, which has made it run slower with every passing day.
I did a bit of googling and found that a lot of people had issues with their Nexus 7s after they upgraded to the latest os.
So now I'm wanting to downgrade to the previous os and I read in an article on Androidcentral that said getting a custom rom would be the best way to go to (I'm guessing) either get a previous os or get a streamlined version of the one I already have.
So I need help finding the best rom for my purposes, I'm very new to this sort of thing, in terms of roms, flashing and downgrading os and such so any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'd love to be able to use this tablet St something other than the speed of smell lol.
@EddieHades welcome to the community. First of all it's always the best method using a custom ROM, but make sure you have unlocked bootloader. If you don't have unlock bootloader then you've to do it first, make sure you've backed up all your data. Second choice if you want to stick with stock rom. Then just go to this link and download your preffered stock ROM as per your device, make sure you've downloaded proper images. Then download Nexus Root Toolkit and flash that image and you're good to go.
Hi there i have successfully installed Pixel Dust Rom with newest DFkReborn kernel on my Nokia 6.1 Plus. For some reason i cant root my mobile (cant instal magisk). Another problem is with OTA updates(not working). Does this rom gets OTA from rom developers or i have to wait for next build? Can any one write instruction how to proper instal magisk on this rom? cheers
I'm sorry, I can't answer your questions, I just wondered where you found that ROM. It doesn't show in the list of ROMs on this forum when I searched through.
I don't think that GSI's support OTA. And the XDA post for that GSI doesn't mention anything about OTA.

It isn't a rom for our device, it is a treble generic system image (GSI) which can be installed on any device with treble support (like ours).

Wow, this frees up a whole new world of ROMS for me to try and destroy my phone with! Thanks!
Hi,
I have not yet done so, but I plan on installing e.foundation's OS to my Essential Phone. Before I start, I would like to ensure that I can reinstall or switch back to Android, in case I muck it up. Is there a way to backup the installed Android or switch back?
I've heard of Nandroid (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459830), but I'm not sure if it will do what I need (A full backup and restore over another ROM). For example, if on Linux, I could use "dd" to copy an entire partition, and write it back later.
Also, as I understand it from (https://mata.readthedocs.io/en/latest/), the phone contains two sets of partitions (slots). If I install the custom ROM to one slot, can I switch back to Android by executing the adb command to change the active slot?
Thanks in advance for help on this. I would very much like to avoid bricking my phone.
Cheers.

I would HIGHLY recommend not installing /e/
It is old... And unsupported.. and unless your tinfoil hat is itchy...
It's just LineageOS and MicroG...

It is not unsupported. It is not old (though it is Nougat). Constantly updated. Is more than just LineageOS and microG.
Do not spread FUD. Seriously.
@neXussT, I would suggest downloading the latest various stock ROMs, Pie, Oreo, Nougat, whichever or all. Have them at the ready on your PC/laptop. You could always fastboot flash the originals if things don't work out.

[STOCK][DUMPS][FIRMWARE] Essential stock firmware and rom dumps
You'll have to downgrade to Nougat firmware first before trying /e/OS anyway so I doubt you can have Pie or Oreo on one slot and /e/OS on the other.
I have /e/OS on the Essential and Axon 7 (multiboot with other ROMs). Last update was about a day ago.
Essential PH-1, /e/OS 0.7-n ROM, microG (NoGapps), XDA Legacy
Thanks marcdw. Those are good tips. I would never have thought of a version difference causing issues. Cheers.

I see your definition of old (3 versions behind) is different than mine...
Also... Merging 2 year old security patches and updating that which even CAF has moved on from... Is what I would call unsupported...
Alrighty then.
I personally don't adhere to the notion that folks must run the latest and (not so) greatest because it's there. Let folks run what they want to run, be it old or new. Discouraging folks doesn't seem too cool. IMNSHO of course.
Moto G5s Plus XT1806, OmniROM 8.1.0, NanoDroid, MultiROM, XDA Legacy
After some digging around, trying to find a working ROM to use as a daily driver for a family member, I found a lot of links no longer work. I was able to find a CyanogenMod 12 ROM and other versions by doing a search for expressatt.zip on Google. Searching for expressatt.img might get you some other files as well. I tried several ROMs and am using cm-12-20150424-UNOFFICIAL-expressatt.zip and it seems to work ok. I was looking for an Android 5.0 Lollipop ROM or higher so I could install Trebuchet 8.1.0.16 from apkmirror. This is the launcher that used in LineageOS 15.1 Oreo and it makes this old phone feel more modern. Hope this helps you keep finding ROM files for this phone.
