Hello.
I got my OP6t today. After I set everything up, I realized that I can not get a media sound. Instead, I only hear a clicking from the speaker. Calls and notifications go normally. Only music and videos are neither on loudspeakers, nor on headphones. Ich tried Restart and Cache Wipe with no effect.
The previous owner says everything worked normally with him.
Does anyone have an idea to fix this?

Hello. I just got my mclaren 6t. Out of the box the speaker would make the crackle sound, i would lose system sounds for 10 15 seconds. I did a factory reset , a cache wipe reboot. This is with the phone without even a sim. only charging and doing updates. I did an rma for replacement.

My MyTouch 1.2 is acting really frustratingly stupid. The speaker and mic aren't working right, and the closest solution (and explanation) I could find for this was a post I found on a T-Mobile forum:
A few weeks back I tried to make a call on my phone and I wanted to use the speaker, when I brought up the menu to select "speaker", I noticed that the option was greyed out and so I couldn't enable it. After that I looked at the screen and it said it was dialing, but I heard no sound coming out. Next I clicked the volume control all the way down to mute and then all the way to max volume, still no sound. After ending the call I double-checked to make sure I wasn't connected to any bluetooth device, bluetooth was disabled. So then I tried to change the ringer volume and the speaker emitted its beeps letting me know how loud the ring volume was. That told me the speakers worked as well as the hardware responsible for generating sound. My next idea was to see if the media player had sound, so I played an mp3 from my sd card, no sound, went to youtube and played a few different videos, no sound. Called my friend, who was standing next to me, and when he answered he said he couldn't hear me speaking, I couldn't hear him either.
Something was seriously wrong with my phone so I bit the bullet and reset it to factory settings, the problem persisted. I took the phone to a TMobile store and they got me a replacement phone. The phone was working for 3 days and then the same problem occured. I got another phone (my 3rd phone) and this morning it has stopped working in the exact same way. I don't do any hacks or developer apps. There is no pattern to this except that it always seems like I'm at work when it happens.
UPDATE WITH SOLUTION: After thinking about this issue it occurred to me that the phone was behaving as if it had a bluetooth device connected to it. As an experiment, I went to my car which is paired with my phone and selected the audio source as my phone. At first it couldn't connect to my phone. So I looked at my phone's bluetooth setting and the status for my car's connection was "paired and not connected". I selected the connection on phone and retried with my car and bam, audio now works. I disconnected the phone from the bluetooth and sound was restored! So mytouch 3g has a bug in their bluetooth services. TMobile/HTC, hit me up if you are looking for a top-notch developer to fix your defects.

Unfortunately, this solution didn't work for me, and I've tried pairing it with every device I could possibly pair it with. No dice. Anyone have a fix for this?
I recently had my Galaxy S4 from AT&T JTAG'd, and upon receiving it I've had no sound. I've tried factory reset, clearing partition, going through the sound settings and turning off adapt sound.
When I try to listen to a video or any sound, I play the video, my phone vibrates, then a few seconds later vibrates twice. After, the app crashes. I've tried headphones, and the phone says headphones are plugged in, but no sound and same crash occurs.
When trying to use adapt sound, I plug my headphones in, the message appears, but at the bottom the phone asks me to plug my headphones in.
Since I soft bricked my phone, today the first day I've had my phone in almost a month, and the day I get it back the sound doesn't work.
This is really frustrating, so any and all help is welcomed!

Have you considered sending it back to the people that Jtag'd it so they can fix it correctly? Or at least contacting them?
I am trying to troubleshoot an issue for a user involving the S7 Edge. I have seen some other sound issues here, but not this exact one. Occasionally, sound will come through the earpiece instead of the bottom speaker. YouTube, Google Music etc all seem to demonstrate this. Once the phone is rebooted it seems to fix the issue. However, I had the unit replaced, and the 2nd unit is doing the same thing. I keep scanning to see if maybe something is in range its connecting to, but no devices are listed. Any ideas what could be causing the sound to come out of the ear piece and then be fine after a reboot?
Thanks!
my one does not have the same problem as you but the sound will come from the speaker instead of earpiece when i listening to voice message from line with the earpiece being put right next to ear just like making regular call
*BUMP*
I have almost the same issue as this with a slight difference.
Occasionally my sound in the bottom speakers will stop and go through the ear speaker instead. When this happens Google Music, Youtube and some other apps won't work. For example pressing play in either of those does nothing. However, my alarm app plays through the ear speaker and the sound can't be increased or decreased (it's quiet too).
The only fix that I've found for this is a phone reboot.. Super annoying because I've missed important alarms from this.
Do you by chance use the YouMail app?? I've been having the exact same issue. I recently received my 2nd replacement phone for that and some other issues, but I'm still having the same problem with the audio suddenly playing through the ear speaker. I think I just tied it to YouMail. Everything was fine and I checked a voicemail. 10 minutes later realized my audio was messed up again. I force closed YouMail and the audio is playing through the correct speaker without having to reboot. I'm not sure why it's doing that, but thats what I figured out. Hopefully it'll be the same for you.

I share the same experience as Allycat. Starting with 2 updates ago, YouMail has redirected media sound to the ear speaker. I use Better YouMail to avoid this problem.

My phone started doing this a few weeks ago. Some apps won't work, I see a message that says there is a call in progress, but I am not making a call at that time. When I am listening to music, the volume switches to the ear piece and when I turn the volume up or down, the display says "Call Volume." When it connects to Bluetooth, I have the same issue. The display says I am making a call but I am playing music or listening to an audiobook.
I spoke with AT&T and Samsung, they said it was an app issue.
Any suggestions?
This has just started happening for me. I'm using the stock samsung rom, but I have rooted and am using Xposed. It was working fine, but now all notifications from the default Samsung messenger app result in no sound through the speaker. I am able to hear notifications from other applications like Inbox, Whatsapp etc. I downloaded Google Messenger and I can hear the notification tone when receiving an SMS. Upon switching back to Samsung messenger, I can't hear it. I've tried rebooting, clearing the caches etc. Nothing seems to fix it.
Has anyone else seen this? I may have to just either factory reset or reflash.

I resolved my issue. There was a rule setup in the XNotifications Xposed framwork module which was muting messages to the Samsung Messenger app. I'm assuming this was user error on my count. I disabled the rule and it's now working

Have you find the problem?
Force stop the app you used for calling
Had the same issue. Just go to settings and force stop the app you recently used for calling like Messenger, Whatsapp, etc.
I am running the Verizon S7e with the rooted Nougat from post #68 here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-method-nougat-t3566978/page7
After completing this, I noticed a couple issues with my sound.
On the handset, while on speaker, the volume is so low you can not hear the caller. Talking with the speaker off is just fine. Music and notifications are fine.
While connected to the Bluetooth in my car, When I am on a call the volume always is extremely low. I can turn the volume up to hear the caller, but the vol must be turned all the way up. Notifications and music a a little lower then they used to be but still good.
This only started after updating to nougat from the above mentioned post. I have searched and found a few suggestions, none of which has worked for me. I have tried:
deleting the Bluetooth connections and reconnect... nothing
Clearing app data for bluetooth and phone.... nothing
In recovery, cleared cache.... nothing
Factory reset.... nothing
The installation of the nougat went flawlessly with no errors..
Any thoughts, ideas and suggestions would be appreciated.
When you turn the volume all the way up, there are some issues. Try having the volume just one step down from maximum.

That did not fix it. It is just as low.

active non-LG or Google apps: Nova Launcher, AccuBattery, WhatsApp, Instagram, two banking apps. that's it!
missed a bunch of phone calls and texts today, discovered all ringtones and notifications were dead. in Settings, confirmed that all volumes were up, Airplane mode was off, etc. the crazy thing: on the ringtones / notifications screens, clicking on any/all of them produced no sound. none of them worked. and strangely, playing music or videos or youtube still worked fine.
rebooted and everything is working again, for now.
ugh. it happened again. missed a bunch of calls in the last two hours, and also the courier at my front door.
but it's unpredictable: earlier this morning i got a text message notification. but after that ... nothing. phone did not ring, but when i checked the ringtones and notifications and contacts, they all seemed to work.
anyone else have this happen?

smart settings have not been activated. but Gestures > Silence incoming call / Flip phone to silence incoming call was ON. turned it off, will see if there's any change ...
something definitely wonky. might try another reset. again, this issue is intermittent / unpredictable:
took phone calls this morning at 7:53am and 8:00am. when i checked the call log, i saw that i missed an incoming call at 7:47am -- and the voicemail notification -- before these other calls.
concerning ...

I'm facing the same issue. Miss a lot of calls/text/alarms every day. I don't know when it's going to happen. A restart fixes it. I'll tell you what I've observed till now:
1. Can happen anytime. The sound will stop coming from speakers/headphones.
2. A reboot will fix it
3. Phone not on silent. Face down silent setting Off. Answer incoming call setting Off.
4. Notification/ringtone/system volume at max
5. No sounds, except for music, will come from the speakers
6. I put the phone on vibrate. Connected headphones. Called myself. There was a very very faint ringtone coming through the headphones.
Reverted to sound mode. Called again. No sound anywhere. Not from the speaker. Not from headphones.
7. Called LG customer care. They couldn't fix it.
I'm 100% sure that this is a software issue as a reboot fixes it. It might be because of a third party app. I've put my phone in safe mode to check if the issue resurfaces. Will inform on it after 24 hours of testing.
If anyone gets any solution please report.

And I tried the factory reset also... Didn't work.
probably related to one of the 26 apps you debloated...
