Phones with synaptic display - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

Okay so this is an issue that needs to be addressed.
It is to be noted that some of the zenfone devices have synaptic displays (whatever that means ) .
This means that normal twrp and roms doesnt work on these devices.
Well i need help cause only batik recovery works for me now.
Here are the issues i have faced so far:
1.cant boot to twrp after flashing (blank screen)
2.stock recovery flashes itself automatically .
3.i was able to flash pixel experience rom using batik recovery but the setup screen was unresponsive(only buttons seemed to work)
4.the above mentioned working recoveries work only if i turn screen off and on.
Help?

Flashing S7E Exynos - Used Odin + TWRP, can't get any further.

Hi everyone, I tried to use this guide to root my phone.
Can confirm it's International, so Exynos.
Used Odin 3.12 and TWRP image 3.1.1 for hero2lte, which is the correct version.
Everything flashed perfectly - Got the OK from Odin, so can't see any problems that side.
Now the problem I'm getting:
When booting into recovery, I get installing updates... then 'No command' screen, like in this thread
I have factory reset via the recovery I DO have (I don't think this is TWRP, there's no touch interface, and it's all controlled via volume + power keys). This allows me to boot into the OS.
I have the option to boot into bootloader, and this takes a little while to do, but seems to fail and boot into the OS anyway.
I have no way of trying to reflash TWRP that I'm aware of, and I'm kinda stuck... could anyone help me from this point on please? Thank you!
EDIT: I'm trying to install custom ROMs and tweaks (Not sure if things like busybox/gravitybox/xPosed framework etc. exist anymore - haven't touched custom stuff for 3 years now! If you know, please let me know too!) So are there OTHER steps I should be aware of/know if I wanna proceed?
(just posting reply so I can see this thread later on, gonna do the same thing after exams, if I get same issue, this will be helpful)
P.S: By the way, when flashing TWRP, deselect auto reboot and see if you can go to recovery without booting it first. Sorry can't think of more options :S
after disabled auto reboot, then holding vol up and home and boot it booted to twrp.
Flash each of the checkboxes individually or it will send you back to download mode
Only one checkbox at a time also make sure ur oem unlock is enabled

Can't boot TWRP after screen replacement

After a screen replacement i tried booting TWRP, everything looks good in cmd screen but after "OKAY/finished" screen turns black.
Other than that phone works fine.
I'm on stock rom May 2020 update.
I also tried booting TWRP with "Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tools", same result.
Is there anything i can try?
which one recovery r u using
have u tried any another recovery.img if not then try mohancm recovery or Giovix92 recovery
or u can try Official TWRP
I tried official TWRP and unofficial OrangeFox.
Will try the other recoveries now, thank you.
I have a same problem. Have you fixed it?

Can't install twrp and pixel experience

Hello. I install the official twrp tissot via twrp-3.2.1-2-oreo, boot into twrp, but get a black screen, but twrp tissot works
through twrp -3.2.1-2-oreo I install pixel expirience, but I also get a black screen, but pixel expirience works
It is possible to install the stock firmware without any problems (android 9)
What is the problem? pixel expirience and twrp tissot is responsive to clicks but just black screen
I changed the screen before, it was broken, after that the screen stopped working for twpr and pixel expirience, but it works for stock firmware (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/help/custom-roms-result-black-screen-t4034279)
Please help
I solved this problem by flashing it to voidKernel_custom for PE, but USB does not work

I have the same problem as you. I couldn't enter to latest TWRP only black screen. I got a screen replacement before this happens and the solution was change the screen again. For my luck, the first screen was malfunctioning so I got another screen, with the new one I could enter to TWRP again
Same problem
