My screen turn off! but the phone is booting. - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A couple of weeks ago my phone was on and the screen went off, I could hear incoming calls, sms, and whatsapp messages, I pressed the buttons but nothing happened, I let the battery run out. Two or three days later the screen came on and worked without problems. Yesterday the same thing happened again, but this time it seemed to be doing something because it vibrated every so often. I connected the USB cable to the PC and sometimes an ADB Fastboot Clark S device appears, and sometimes incoming calls and messages are heard again. The screen heats up a bit. I hope you can help me.

No incoming phonecalls or messages while in standby

Hi guys,
i received my 2nd hand T-Mobile MDAII 2 days ago. When i powered it on, i saw that the WM2005 rom came from this site. Since i have a small "issue" with my phone i thought i would ask here (since google does not know the answer)
I love my new device, that's for sure. There's only 1 slight problem. To save some battery life, i turn on the setting to go in standby mode after 1 minute of not touching it. But when the phone goes in standby, i completly miss all incoming phone calls and text messages.
I tested this last night :
I send an text message to a friend of mine, asking him to send one back after 10 minutes. My phone goed into standby, and i wait. Half an hour later, no vibration (i hate ringtones) from an incoming message or call. When i pull my phone out of standby it suddenly vibrates because i have an incoming text message.
Is there a way that i can turn my phone into standby mode, but still receive incoming phonecalls and messages ? I now keep it on all the time, just letting the backlight go off but this consumes to much power i'm affraid.

My Wizard has BSE or somesuch. Anyone have a cure?

Hi all
My Wizard has been acting very strangely for the last 24 hours. Without any obvious trigger evet, it has started doing the followig things:
- GSM notification light has started blinking amber without any associated problem or warning. Normally this means GSM disabled, but I can still place and receive calls fine.
- Refusal to sync with desktop. When I plug it in, both the computer and phone make studdery 'hardware connected' noises but nothing else. Whatever I try, I cannot coaxe them to talk.
- Worst of all, at seemingly random times, in perhaps 1-minute intervals, the phone vibrates briefly and makes the notification noise, as if an appointment was coming up. But there are no appointments, all system alarms have been turned off and I can't for the life of me tell what's triggering it - there's nothing in the task manager list, so it seems to be a system fault. This is making it an extremely annoying device to be around.
I tried a soft reset, nothing. I'm reluctant to do a hard reset beacuse I have some data which I mustn't lose (but I can't back it up). The only thing that I can think of is an application I installed a while back SMS Threader, which was pretty parasitic. I removed it, but apparently the uninstallation wasn't clean. The buzzes and noises sound a bit like what the phone would do when I received a message while I had SMS Threader installed.
Any ideas?
Thanks...

[BUG] Random Alerts

I didn't notice this before
but now that i actually use the phone (rather than play with it )
I noticed the phone will automatically do a short alert every now and then, if you are on bluetooth you'll hear it
if bluetooth is not ON, then it will just do a short vibrate
but there is no email, no missing calls, no missing SMS, no nothing of anything, yet every 30min give or take does a random wake up? alerts, then goes back to sleep.
perhaps it's some of the software that i've setup to check for update/refresh every 30 min
but if there are no changes, the Alert tone/music shouldn't go off, right?
Hey AG
I have not had experience of this. I am using chomp and not have had any strange alerts.
Pull a logcat and see if you can see what's going on.
Sometimes it's helpful for me to have the phone plugged to usb and running logcat (via adb) full time to my terminal, then I have it open and ready to see what's scrolled on the screen when the odd thing happens.

Mysterious vibrating once a second

I saw some very strange behavior from my Verizon Galaxy S5 (running OptimalROM) this morning. I was watching a video at my computer with the phone (screen off) sitting on my thigh, when I start hearing something about once a second -- I pause the video, and figure out it is my phone -- I pick up my phone and discover the noise is actually the phone vibrating. It is vibrating for a full second, then nothing for a second, then it vibrates again for a full second, and this kept repeating. I turned the screen on, thinking there was an incoming call or an emergency alert, or something, but there's no phone call and no notifications of any sort. After the vibrating continued for about a minute, I finally decided to reboot the phone to see if that would stop it -- which it did, and it has yet to reoccur.
I've never seen this behavior from any Android phone, so I thought I would ask the community if they've seen it and know why it was doing it.

Screen randomly stays blank after hitting power button N900

I've got a strange problem with my Sprint Galaxy Note 3.
What's happening is that randomly when I hit the power to turn the screen back on, it will do nothing then the screen will stay blank. The phone clearly still works because if I'm on a call or listening to music it will still keep playing and the volume and other buttons continue to work.
When that happens I hold down the power to turn the phone off and then on and it boots up normally.
Rarely what will happen is the same behavior except the screen will go strangely green after I hit the power button, making the phone unusable until an off/on.
This happens sometimes multiple times a day, sometimes days without happening.
Phone is rooted, running OC5 on Android 5.0. Problem has been happening for months. Haven't made any system upgrades or installed any major apps so that isn't it. I'm thinking it is some kind of loose pin/wire but don't want to crack the phone open without a plan.
Any help appreciated!
