Turn T550 to P550? S-pen capable? - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Hi!
So i cracked the digitizer of my Samsung Tab A 9.7 SM-T550, and Im going to order a new digitizer for it.
However, while looking i was wondering - can i order a digitizer from th P-550 and all of a sudden turn it to a Active Pen tablet? Is the pressure technology in the digitizer or in the display?
If not, is there any way to turn a non S-pen tablet to a S-pen tablet? Like; "you have to order the whole display with the digitizer to be able to get the features"
Thankful for quick answers

Here is the T550 and P550 side by side. P550 is on the left with two flex cables: touchscreen and SPen. T550 has only touchscreen flex cable.
-T550 doesn't have S Pen connection.
-P550 has Spen connector and the SPen flex cable is embed in LCD, not on the touchscreen.
Both have similar other components but built differently: LCD frame and assembly ,USB sub connector, speakers.
P550 has the LCD and touchscreen glued together with LOCA ( Liquid Optical Crystal Adhesive ), so it's hard or impossible to change the touchscreen without breaking the LCD . Even successfully , the LCD will be ugly without LOCA.
So in short, they built differently, you cannot change T550 to P550 or vice versa. However. other Samsung tablets can change a P to T model by left the SPen flex cable alone by using a T model mainboard. Downgrade is possible, not the upgrade.

He is correct if it is not a spen model it has a regular digitizer. The spen models have a secondary layer imbedded in the glue called a Wacom digitizer and they are made to detect a specific resistance the spen resonates...

White Screen? Is it FLEX or LCD?

My less than 4 month old unit experienced the white screen syndrome (blank white screen with some occasional orange lines)
the unit has been opened by a technician and he is pointing the problem to FLEX cable but they dont have much experience repairing HTCs, only NOKIAs.
Biggest problem is the flex cable cost like US$100-150 on ebay now.. after reading thru XDA-Devs, i noticed some indication of LCD problems..
can anyone give me insight if this is more of a LCD problem or FLEX problem.. some symtoms includes:
GREEN ON light on top is active, but CALL D Pad and HANG UP buttons are not lighting up and fuctioning.. the unit still starts Windows Mobile and still beeps and buzzs without any problems..
Heres the photo of the unit.. Any insights would be greatly appreciated.. thanks!

There are existing threads on this, here for example:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=303872
Very briefly on this complex issue:
1
Not likely to be the LCD
2
Could be the flex cable between screen and D-Pad
3
Can be the actual connector not seated well at the D-Pad. It has two screws (tiny) and MUST be seated absolutely flat and must be neither loose nor over tightened.
4
It can also be components on the D/Pad board that are faulty
5
Recent reports also suggest that in some cases it may be faulty capacitors on M/Board.
So NOT an easy one to track down.
Closing this thread as threads exist - but don't expect a definitive answer - some suggestions here and there MIGHT work for you.

The bad news is the bezel it actually part of the frame so it can't be replaced with completely disassembling the phone down to the digitizer. You can however buy a broken phone from eBay in good condition and just swap boards. I just bought a flawless phone for $50 which had been in an otterbox but it had a dead board. I swapped the board from the old phone with a cracked screen and it now looks new. The bad news is most broken phones from eBay have broken screens or digitizers. If they have a dead board as the one I found, you have no way of knowing for sure if the phone will even power on after swapping boards.
Another option would be to buy an aluminum bumper frame which will cover the bezel up so you won't see the scuffs and dings. These don't add much size to the phone like a full case does. They also come in pretty much any color

Nexus 7 LCD replacement or Digitizer?

Hi guys, I just want to ask a question. My nexus 7 screen has been cracked when I was on a vacation, the screen has a large crack on bottom right part and there are some line cracks from that bottom right to the other parts of the screen. The LCD is working perfectly, but the touch (tapping on screen) is not responding. I'm planning to buy only a screen digitizer to change the digitizer, and I'd still reuse the outer screen (Outer screen glass). Does buying a digitizer will solve my problem, or should I buy a new LCD replacement (LCD + Screen Digitizer)? A reply will be appreciated

Hey! I have the same problem and I'd like to suggest you buying the Screen+Digitizer+Frame as it is way MORE easier than installing the screen separately (you'll have to mess up with heating gun/ glue and some other processes). BTW this bundle is just 3-5 bucks more expensive than the usual screen.
Here's an example of what I'm talking about: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111737972261

[Share] Hardware fix lag remote Shield TV

I have Shield TV 2017 16GB. i have been fix lag with hardware fix. now i can use it about ~5.4m without problem, faster response.
i use antenna GPRS but better with Wifi antenna (because shield tv use bluetooth 2.4Ghz).
here english instruction of member "iR3M" in shield tv forum
"
Here a quick recap of all steps done and things used:
- very small cross tip screwdriver, to open the 2 screws left and right at the back
- a nylon pry tool, to open the box, without scratching or cracking it, you need to insert it in the back top- left, center and right, afterwards you can slide the top cover away
- a small knife, I used a scalpel to carefully scratch the board, where the antenna needs to solder
- a little pice of copper or brass wire, which on one end you need to rasp with an file
- solder iron, to solder and finally a hot glue pistol, to fix the antenna inside of the case
I've fixed the antenna first to the case with hot glue and solder it afterwards, this way its much easier.

Phone fell, green horizontal line on the bottom half of the screen

As title says.
My phone fell from around a metre, and now there is a thin green line going from the side of the phone (which also has a little black spot (mostly dead pixels or burn-in) where the line begins
What are my choices to fix the phone ? If i replace the screen, what panel do you replace ? digitizer ? lcd ? I'm not an expert in screens so any help is immensely appreciated.

Gree
It could be the the display or possible the mobo.
In the future use a good case; high G loads can internally damage chipsets, and certainly fracture solder joints. A case reduces and helps spread the G spike out making impacts survivable.
Use ESD protocols when handling out of circuit subassemblies especially the mobo and display.
Their inputs are not ESD harden and can be easily damaged by ESD. Wear all cotton and have room humidity at 50%, a earth grounded ESD mat and strap are recommended. Beyond that watch some tear down vids, have the proper tools... and take your time.
It's probably the display but if the mobo was damaged you're sort of boned. It may be easier and more cost efficient to let a good repair service sort it out.
First, go to boot screen or bootloader or recovery mode (what ever excpet OS) for sure its hardware problem.
If its, go to repair shop, open phone to check the screen flex cable.
If the problem still at the screen, its Amoled panel damaged, and this phone is curved edge display, so you better replace both combo (glass touch screen and amoled panel).
The screen is the most expensive of this phone's part.
