Same thing happened to me few weeks ago..
This is what i do..
Try check your storage availability via PC to USB connection on your PC..
If it shows your memory card is full,do this..
(via PC) find DCIM folder inside your SD card..there is this folder called thumbnail..
check the size of that folder..SUPRISE? mine was 3GB!
So i deleted the folder..
Next,as i try to explore the content of my SD card on ES File Explorer, the app still didnt recognise my SD card!
So this is what i did..
Using TITANIUM BACKUP,i wipe the data of ES File Explorer..
and...TADAAAA...ES file Explorer working just fine..
Hi,
I'm trying to rename some files on my SD Card using ES File Explorer on my M9+. When the new window pop-up to give write permission access to SD Card, it was not shown even I selected the option to Show SD card. Instead, It only detects my Internal Storage.
This is the same process I'm doing in my M8 previously and working fine as expected.
Please help. My device is not rooted.
im having issues in moving obb folder to the internal sd card, sort of stops at 98 percent
my nvidia is rooted so i would like to play some games from the external sd but in the mean time i am trying to copy them to the internal sd... anyone know a good way of moving files
i am using es file explorer
i was thinking ssh but i am having issue doing that, not sure which app works effectively...
I am unable to transfer files from my phone memory to my sd card.
I am also unable to transfer files from my pc to sd card in the phone. I have no issue transferring files from pc to phone memory.
I can view and open files on the sd card and the phone is able to play music and movies stored on the sd card.
Can anyone help me fix this issue?
Thanks!
I don't have such problem at all.
Try different file browsers like ES File Explorer and Astro.
If those do not work, try and factory reset your phone and ask for a replacement if the problem still persists after that.

Does the phone read the sd card? Do you have anything on it to access? If not I would suggest formatting the sd card.

The phone reads all the files on the sd card. I get an error that says Access denied when i copy a file from the phone memory to any folder on the SD card...however I get no error when I copy the files to the root SD card. It's weird...not sure whats going on.
You need to use the stock file manager to copy to the sd card or from the sd to internal as this is a "security feature" since Android lollipop. If you wish to use any other file explorer you MUST be rooted...

I use ES File Explorer and it works - and I won't root until ZTE posts full factory roms for the US version.
I still think there is some issue with the sd card that can be solved by formatting it - if the phone won't move files to it and the pc recognizes the phone but not the sd card how did you get files on it in the first place?

Not true. I just used Solid Explorer to copy files from internal memory to the SD card. There was an extra procedure of selecting the sd card in what looks like the stock storage selection menu thing (that also has Drive, Downloads etc) which was apparently necessary for Solid Explorer to get the necessary permission. Maybe it doesn't work with old file explorer apps that haven't implemented this solution, but it definitely works with Solid Explorer without root.
This is a very small post as you can see..
I have observed that many of the users are having trouble while flashing most of the custom ROMs available for K3 note.
I myself was facing this problem.
After any Android KitKat update system doesn't allow the SD card to be used as default storage.
Most of the apps required permission to read write and edit files.
For example if you have encrypted any files on your SD card using ES Explorer then you cannot decrypt it unless you give it permission to write on SD card and sometimes it doesn't even ask for permission.
Well there is a simple solution to this thing.
What I did is I install Xposed installer for nogat.
And there is an Xposed module called XinternalSD which allows external SD card to be used as internal SD, basically it provides a false path to the internal SD.
Hope this helps..
can i use magisk instead of xposed?
