My device is fine and working and have the modified twrp. Just been busy with work.
Just want to know the scoop.. Why are we using a modified recovery IMG?

cant root my op2

Presently i'm running on stock oos 3.1
1.Unlocked bootloader
2.flashed hybrid recovery
3.flashing super.su-2.78.
After flashing it stucks at boot logo...it doesnt show up...how to root???
facing same problem here
Since OS 3.** you need to flash SuperSU when systemless...If you have no idea how, simply flash the below SuperSU and you'll be root..Cheers !

Edit: No need to reinstall your OS, simply flash it on top of the one that's boot looping on TWRP or Hybrid recoveries

Where to get twrp installer.. on official twrp site there is only .IMG file for 3.1.1-0 available
The procedure you have explained is for twrp by Mohan 3.1.1-1 which doesn't seem to work fine for me

twrp 3.1.1-1 (by mohan) working perfect. Use twrp installer from this thread. First ensure that boot image is unmodified . Flash stock boot for your build number and then install twrp as stated above. Unmodified boot image must to install twrp. Then root with magisk to retain ota.

Need help to remove TWRP to install the latest oreo rom patch with the fixes

Basically I currently Have TWRP and MAGISK in the first version of the stock oreo rom now i have no idea how to update via ota because i have twrp as my recovery right now.
Any thoughts on how i could remove twrp and go back to stock recovery... long story short i needed twrp before because i was stuck in a boot loop and had to flash magisk via twrp to fix the loop. Thanks in advance.

It provides link to all roms (stable, beta & incremental) & Mi flash tool. Download the latest platform tools zip for windows & update your .net framework. You should also make sure you've installed your adb & fastboot drivers correctly.

Samsung fastboot confirmed

I have successfully used fastboot to flash TWRP to my Tab S5e. Android 10 moved fastboot to userspace as fastbootd and if you have the right recovery it works on Samsung. I used Lineage recovery from local 17.1 build on my machine. Got curious about fastboot options in recovery and it works. Check this to better understand https://source.android.com/devices/bootloader/fastbootd Yep that is source.android link no joke. Device codename can be seen in screenshots.
Does this mean we can flash TWRP Recovery and then just root it with flashing Magisk via TWRP recovery? Thanks.

Sort of, if you already have LineageOS or another custom ROM that supports it. Stock samsung does not support fastbootd. AOSP based roms should have it as of android 10. It also requires the recovery be compatable. Lineage recovery provides access current TWRP did not. It is explained here https://source.android.com/devices/bootloader/fastbootd . It's a neat trick but not for initial root or custom recovery, still same as always you have to have it before you can get it. It does not replace Odin and the same steps are required as always to root or install twrp on stock Samsung. But once you have access it works to flash magisk_patched.img on LOS which can be good since Lineage 17.1 does not have official su support.
