Hi,
My girlfriend has a Samsung s8 and the screen has gone black and we can not see the screen. We are still getting notifications but no screen.
The thing is she needs to access the phone to retrieve images and videos of our 5 month old. Also to access texts to access her bank account and Facebook gmail etc.
I have looked on net and been told to put in debugging mode and connect to pc but I can't see the screen so I can't do that, I have been told to put it in download mode to use some software to do it but I can't put in download mode.
Anyone any ideas to wither mirror the phone to pc and use on pc or put in download mode without using the buttons or screen of the phone.
Thanks
Sounds like the digitiser is broken.
Don't think there's a way to mirror the screen without downloading an app or changing system settings I'm afraid. Your girlfriend should still have warranty on the phone though, so I'd say send it to Samsung for them to fix it. Unless the device was dropped or tampered with and/or there's visible damage that's the way to go I guess.

If somebody wants access to your device, a lock screen will not stop them. Especially if they have a lot of time with your phone.
My advice, make a backup of your stuff, and do a factory reset.
You can do it through recovery. You don't need to touch, use the screen. Just watch some guide on YouTube.
Hello All,
I recently had an accident with my phone and the screen broke into a 1000 pieces but is still together in the mobile.
I am trying to recover the pictures in the internal memory of the S4, and then the insurance will give me an exchange phone.
The problem I am currently having is one that I havnt been able to find on any post on any website, The screen is broke so the touch screen doesnt work, the start button seems to not be working or does work but nothing is shown on the screen or on the LCD light to indicate its on. I am trying to plug the phone into KIES 3, But the phone is not found/recognised so dosnt appear on the screen, I try to press the start button but nothing happens to make it recognise the phone. So seems Kies is a dead end here as it dosnt pick it up, and I also know that USB debugging is not enabled, as I found out by trying to use DR FONE FOR ANDROID, I manage to get to the 2nd option screen but says the USB debugging has to be enabled to work, but without being able to see the screen I cannot enable it. Is there any programme to view the phones screen on the laptop/computer and be able to access the system and enable the USB dbug?
I am currently downloading the ANDROID SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT KIT as I read in some post, but will this resolve my problem or am I gonna hit a dead end???
I am hoping that the ROM/software of the computer hasnt broken or got corrupted as then the phone would be dead.....
Can someone please help me asap, as meanwhile I am without any phone till I am able to repair this one....
May I add that the PC dosnt recognsise it either, no new item appears in MY PC....
Mobile version is: GT-I9505 with the carrier being Orange Spain
So my Note 3 went into the toilet few days ago.
It was unfortunate, but that stuff happens, and it was a company phone anyway.
What is more important are the pictures and the videos on it.
Here is the deal.
The phone boots obviously. My pc discovers it as a samsung galaxy note media player. If i try to browse, it says there is nothing on it.
I can see the ip adress of the phone on my home router, and i can ping that ip adress. So the phone boots, connects to the wifi, but the screen is dead.
It lights up white, i can get the vibrating response when i press where i think the keys are , but i do it blind. I dont know if it only vibrates on touch, or i am actually doing something.
Is there any way to force myself into the memory and pull the files off, the phone is only pin protected at the start, no encryption or anything like that.
Did you enable USB Debugging at some point before this happened? If so, you can try to use adb to copy the entire internal memory to your pc.

Install Kies 3 and see if it can recognize your phone? If it does, you can copy all data using Kies 3.

Why didnt i think of that. Since the phone was locked it wouldnt display anything in Keys either, took me a few times to remember the positioning of the keys. Luckily the touch still works.
I have downloaded everything to my pc
Waiting now for Nexus 6.
Thank you sir.
I dropped my phone, and the LCD broke-NOT the glass or digitizer! I need to get all of my stuff off of there, and I tried using [email protected] to do it, but it keeps saying "REJECTED." I suspect I need to hit some sort of confirmation on the screen of the phone to allow ADB to access it-thankfully Debugging Mode was already on when it stopped working. There is very important text logs on it that I need by Tuesday, because I'm sending this phone back to Sprint as part of the replacement process. I can obviously not see what is going on and that's why I needed to get some way to view it on my PC.
Long and short of it is a company replaced a shattered screen. Then, the new screen began to peel away and then the connection became so bad that the screen is not functional. I just get a blank screen. I need to rip all of that data off the old phone so I can back it up and put it on a new phone (courtesy of the company that replaced the screen).
Here's where it gets tricky. The USB connection mode is charge only. I need to set it to MTP, but can't because the screen has lost all functionality. Without MTP, neither Android File Transfer nor Smart switch can't connect to the phone. I think Sidesync would work, but I can't install it on my phone.
An MHL cable won't help because it mirrors what is on the screen, but I can't select anything....
Are there any tricks out there that can help me before I have to send the old phone back in?
Thanks in advance!
You'll have to try fixing it temporarily . youtube has some good info

You can try and take a phone with the same os. If you have 2 computers its best (maybe one laptop or something). Turn both the phones off and connect them both to the computers and turn them both on. Look at the one that you see his screen and press the same places on your phone..
Sent from my OnePlus3 using XDA Labs
I'm in the same boat, have you found a way?
