Hey guys,we know M8 is an old device and lots of users have issues with battery life.
Now the good news: You can refurbish your m8 with only 20dollars in China.
since I don't know how to put a link here
you can just search 联强数码城 on taobao dot com
screen is only 120 RMB(17 dollars)
battery 40 RMB(5.6 dollars) and also battery for m9 with bigger capacity is available on m8
metal body of all colors for 60 RMB(8.6 dollars)
You can also ship your phone to China and have the shop owner fix it for you.
I had my M9 refurbished there. It is like the phone is resurrected.
If you enjoy my info, please give it a thumbsup

Ship the phone, let them do who knows what inside it and pray they send it back?
No thanks, I like my scratched phone better.

It's really not that difficult to replace the battery or for that matter anything else on the M8.
Just a bit of care and time.
I have done it several times with no damage.
All parts are still available.

Also one can order the cheap parts from china and find a local shop to change it for him. I am sure there would be plenty that will gladly help for reasonable amount of money.

Getting my screen replaced in Europe

Hi all!
I managed to crack the digitizer of my HD2 some while back. It's working but I'd like to have it replaced, and I really think I'll screw it up if I try it myself. However, the official HTC repair service here in Norway wants the equivalent of 370€ to do it, and most unofficial ones are only slightly under that price.
I'm wondering if you know of any reliable repair services elsewhere in Europe would be cheaper, and in that case, which ones?
I've seen digitizers & glass being sold online, but they say it's pretty hard to separete from the LCD.
There are also complete sets of displays for hd2, LCD+digitizer+glass going for around 85$ or more.

Indeed, but I want to avoid replacing it myself, just not at any price.
quick consideration: I bought my hd2, second hand, for 440€ in february. Up to a 200€ expense for repairs (lower than which I think it would be really hard to find anything) I would seriously consider buying ANOTHER hd2 which now, being almost august, maybe can be found for less than 350€. I am not following the market.
At thjat point you could sell yours as defective for 200€ and still have paied 150€, lower than repairs
Thanks for the tip, that's not a bad idea at all..
However these guys says they'll fix it for 150£, so I think I'll just take a vacation in London and pay them a visit while I'm at it.

[Q] Glass cracked on my Galaxy Note 3

Hey guys i have been a bit busy in the last 3 to 4 months because of my job therefore wasn't as active on XDA as i always have been but today i have been forced to come on XDA again due to an unfortunate accident which my Galaxy Note 3 faced in the morning.
The glass on my Galaxy Note 3 has cracked..........it fell from a height of just 4 inches and bam! the glass has cracked, the screen is working fine and the touch response is fine as well but the glass has cracked.......i am surprised(infact shocked that it cracked after falling from a height of just 4 inches where as on the other hand my good old HTC One X has fallen from a height of 6+ feet 5 to 6 times and it is still working fine).
So my questions are(especially who are living in Pakistan):
1.What can i do now..........where and how can i replace the glass?
2.What will be the estimated cost of replacing the glass?
3. Has anyone else faced this unfortunate accident?
Your feedback will be highly appreciated and i'll be grateful if you guys reply me ASAP.
Regards.
1- Samsung Service Centre? At least here in my place they replace the glass/LCD/digitizer.
2- As you are from Pakistan I am not going for that conversion route. Here it costs around ₹9000. They won't change the glass only, the digitizer will also be changed.
3- No, and don't have plan to face this type of accident either I have a bumper case however.
You can't really compare a phone's fall incident with another phone's, cause the falls itself are different. The corners are the most important place of a phone, and maybe your phone dropped on one of its corner, thus causing the glass/LCD to break. Note 3's overall build quality is more than good, so you are pretty unfortunate here

Thanks for replying bro.
WOA....9000 INR which means 14500 PKR that's quite a lot btw my model is N9005 so obviously it is not under warranty will that matter?
And also tell me which case u r talking about? Can u provide any link or photos of the case?
Anytime bro.
Yeah, it's costly. Because of the high quality LCD (or AMOLED in this case) panel used in Note 3. Also you might want to add another 1000 INR with that as my colleague who replaced his Note 3's glass has very good contact and all with the local Samsung SC, so he might have got it for slightly less than normal charge. You just visit your nearest SC and ask, see how much they ask for it.
And yeah, he also has a N9005, no official warranty here either for that, but AFAIK all the SC here in Calcutta accepts N9005 and do what's necessary. For software troubles they ask ₹500 fixed, and for hardware depends on the material which needs to be changed or replaced.
If they don't want to accept the phone as it's the N9005 just tell them you ARE going to pay for it, they will take it instantly
PS: One more thing, I have no idea how the SC people are in your place, but here they are a bunch of muppets. They handle all products like ****, so do WARN them beforehand that to make sure not to scratch anything else, like the camera lens cover, the frames etc. I have had to visit SC twice, once for my S2 and once for my Note 2, and believe it or not both times they scratched the camera lens cover and for S2 they even scratched the display! However they had to replace it for free because of my continuous offending statements, but a hassle is a hassle, so kindly remember that.
I always say, stay away from Service Centres at any cost. But your problem is severe and there's no option but to visit a SC anyway.
Best of luck. And don't forget to inform here what happened.

As it is your colleague have you seen yourself(or can u ask him if you have not)the screen after the replacement.......someone told me that once you replace it(be it any local shop or Samsung Service Center)a gap occurs between the display and glass due to which dust can pass in the gap after some time......is that really true?
And once again thanks bro coz you are the only one who bothered to reply and help me.

Yeah, course I have seen it myself. I meet him once every week.
There is NO gap whatsoever, none at all. It looks one hundred percent same as before, if I didn't know the panel has been replaced I would not be able to tell something was changed at all.
I guess people reply by depending on locations, especially when it's about servicing and stuffs. We use all non contract phones, but in EU and US mostly all are contracted phones, and their service process is somewhat different. However I reply, and will continue to do so, if the query is known subject to me, doesn't matter if it's midnight or I am in middle of sleep. Helping others IS the true purpose of a community
Oh I was talking about the Amzer bumper case by the way. It's a very cheap case actually, just 700 INR, but for small drops it will be more than enough, but if you want real protection then you shall aim for UAG or Otterbox cases, yeah they look awful, especially the latter one, but compromise has to be made one way or another.

Bothering me? LOL, not at all.
It took them three days to get the job done. That's because the display was not available in their possession, it came from Bangalore or some place, that's why three days. They clearly said if they had the panel by themselves they would do the job within one day.

Protential ebay Buyer of Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935U Beware (It's a SM-G935P)

I recently purchased 3 S7 edge G375U from ebay seller "cellitems" and my experience is far from acceptable.
Only 1 out of 3 looked new. 2 out of 3 were scratched up especially on the flash and sensor lens on the back. All 3 came with the box seals broken. When I contacted them they assured me they were new and only opened for unlocking. I was thinking what? These are factory unlocked to begin with!
I started looking more closely to these phones and it turned out all them are Sprint version G375P with G375U ROM installed. Although it works fine but I surely don't like being lied to.
If admin see this, please move this thread to the discussion. Posted here by mistake
"Although it works fine but I surely don't like being lied to."
For the principal, I'd go for a refund, or more assertive resolution that failing... and look elsewhere
Asking for a refund on 2. Keeping one for personal reason. I think ebay should have a better system in place to punish these sellers. It's said that most customer didn't know they got tricked. 1 star feedback will be given. I wish ebay can notify other buyers of this scam.

That's not true. Im buying 3 phones in the past and not one was a fake.
I think the buyer should be more careful and reading the ratings for example. Not reading the positive ratings.. Read the negativ ratings. I didnt say its his fault... I dont like it too and hate them sellers.
To the op :
Did you Pay via Paypal? So u can Open an issue on Paypal. Until its not solved the seller didnt get his money

Naive
Ratings and feedback mean nothing, I bought a PS3 controller from a guy with thousands of 100% positive feedback, controller was a fake
Bought iPad charger from someone with very high 100% positive feedback, also fake
You want to know how they keep their 100% positive feedback? The same way they tried to get me to reverse my negative rating by refunding me under the agreement that I could keep the item as long as I changed my feedback from negative to positive (I did not change my feedback)
eBay ratings = Nothing
You got lucky

Yep, you can find hidden honest gems shops, but like I say, you have to sift through the 90% of fakes to find that 10% pot of gold
I'd rather pay the extra to buy from a real online shop than use eBay these days

For my personal use, I ended up buying it from Bestbuy. Even Items directly from China operated store was good. Got one of those Lenovo's fastest tablet for cheap!
Recent experience of buying new phone on eBay (all local USA sellers) is horrible. Aside from S7 edge, I bought a LG G5 in the summer and ended up returning them all, 5 times total. Again, the phone was installed with unofficial ROMs.
I would like to add, buying from individual ebay sellers (not one with a store) is mostly safe.
I would like to add never buy parts from FixEZ on ebay as they claim oem quality And most def is not...
I bought a lcd and frame assembly from them and its made of reg glass not gorilla and there cust service rep cussed me out when I sent the screen shots of the website as he told me they never claimed oem.
Which they most def did...
The screen cracked in my pocket when i sat down just from the pressure in a front pocket of fairly baggy pants might i add
This was for a LG G4
There is one advantage to there being so many fakes on eBay, so long as the seller advertises them as genuine, and they are not, you can usually get a full refund along with them letting you keep the item if you complain they are breaking eBays Ts&Cs by false advertising
They'll usually try to get you to accept 50% refund & keep the item, but if you push them and tell them you want them to send you a pre-pay box to return the item for full refund & will contact eBay about their false advert, 90% of the time they refund in full and you get an automated message from eBay saying you do not need to do anything else nor return the item
And tbh, I feel no sorrow for them losing any money considering they know they're scamming so many people with fakes

Everything is possible on eBay, easy enough to buy shrink-wrap and claim it is factory sealed
Stickers have often been faked
Firmware on the phone has been faked
Model number on the back of the actual phone has been faked
Model number on the box has been faked / wrong box used
Buy new if you want 100% guarantee it is what you are buying, or make sure you have a good and sure way of being refunded if you still go the eBay route
ok so I went the ebay route. I found an individual seller, not one of those cell phone stores. I got 2 of the 930FD for $460 each. Not a great price but not too bad I thought. They were factory sealed and brand new. Thankyou all for the tips and suggestions.

(UPDATED) HELP NEEDED!!! Nexus 6p Dead all of a sudden

Update 9 Feb 2018: So i sent this dead piece of brick to a third party repair centre amd they have confirmed that motherboard is faulty and it will cost 12000 or ~200$ to replace (down from 22k quoted by Huawei service centre). I am seriously repenting my decision of buying this phone against my instinct. I was initially skeptical about huawei now it has proven to be true. This has never happened to any of my earlier phones, it couldn’t even last two full years.
Now question is what should i do next? Spending 200$ isnt a wise decision as this phone doesnt have this much resale value and no certainty that it wont show any other issue after this repair.
If i dont go for repair what can i do with this dead phone, no exchange or buyback available
I am really disheartened. Guys Please suggest what should i do, need your opinion.
Yesterday my nexus 6p turned off abruptly and never booted up. Battery was more than 90% , tried plugging-in again for an hour but it shows no signs of life.
Today i visited Huawei's service center, they told me that its either PCB or battery issue. Battery replacement will cost 11k and PCB will cost 22k.
I am very disappointed with huawei quality, highly unreliable and substandard. within 2 year device shows such major issues. Cant believe Google chose this brand to malign their own brand value. never experienced this with any other brand, have used almost all brands including Xiaomi.
Now can anyone guide me on how to bring this piece of brick back to life? I wont bear 22k as it doesnt worth it for this device should i go for third party repair?
please suggest!
I would take the least expensive route and replace the battery yourself. If that doesn't work invest in a new phone. It is a great phone but to risky with the BLOD to invest too much money into.

how do i figure out if its a battery or pcb fault?
when my phone started to do this, I literally had to press the power button for like a minute before it showed signs of life....
Heat it up with a hair dryer and it may start.

Well if you did the work yourself could change that and the battery for under $40. If your paying to have it done that's a much bigger expense. Do you take the chance and hopefully get another couple years out of it? I mean even if you get the BLOD there is a fix for it though your phone gets slowed down quite a bit. I like the phone and would say go for it but let's see what others think. ?

Decent Replacement FX30 Battery (Europe)

Yes, I know.. another battery thread. This is, however, for european users.
Does anyone knows where to buy decent replacement FX30 battery in europe (or china). Tried those fake ones off ebay but capacity below 2k mAh and they die after 2 months of use - waste of time and money. No one from US will ship batteries to europe due to federal law regulations.
Motorola/Lenovo are not helping either. Was willing to pay them to replace the battery in authorised service but no one in Lenovo/Moto knew the cost. They asked to send device in for a week for their, so called, 'engineers' to investigate and then they would give the quote. Really? ..just to find out that the price is.. say £100 or more. No, thank you.
Well, I'm still on the hunt for half decent replacement that won't crap on me within 2 months. (Or even burn my house in the process). Anyone had good experience with non-original FX30 batteries long term? Original battery would be preferred option though.
Thanks
I got luckly and was able to buy this on eBay. Maybe they can ship this to you.
