Audio output via headphone jack is very loud in PixysOS 9.0 - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Questions & Answers

I recently flashed the PixysOS 9.0. Everything works flawlessly. Only the output via the headphone jack is very very loud.
While watching media it seems adjustable. But it is impossibly loud while calling. I use a BoAt in ear earphone. While calling the sound is very loud even at minimum volume in volume slider.
So is there an app or process to decrease the audio output via the headphone jack?

I am on pixys os too.... But i didn't seem to have that problem?.

Yes it is very loud

I am also facing this issue i am using philips earphone hope that It will be fixed soon

Okay i wasn't facing this problem because till now i was on v2.0.
But when i updated to v2.1 i started facibg this issue.
But its not a big problem
I fixed it through viper4android fx magisk module.
The process may seem long when you're reading it but its very easy and short really.
To fix the issue flash viper4android fx through magisk and reboot
Then plug in your headset and open viper and play a song.
In viper go to headset tab and scrool down to the last option master gate and open it. In there you will see output gain, reduce it to -20dB or -14 dB according to your needs and thats it that will fix it...

Oh, i havent had the chance to see audio on call on headphones but you coul try one thing for that.
There is another module on magisk called audio compatibility patch you could try that.

Replace mixer_paths.xml @ root/system/vendor/etc/
With the stock rom mixer_paths.xml in the download link.

It just kills all audio for me. I followed this https://android.stackexchange.com/q...-changing-the-mixer-paths-xml-increase-volume and it works.
To change the Headphone volume:
Find: <path name="headphones"> Look for these strings below it:
"HPHL Volume" value="15"
"HPHR Volume" value="15"
Again all we are changing is the values (ensure both are set at the same number).

[Q] Audio Hiss and HTC Sound Enhancer

Hi XDA, whenever I play music in Zune or last.fm through my headphones I notice a loud hiss that I have never noticed before. Is this a problem with the ROM?
Also, has anyone else had luck getting the HTC Sound Enhancer app to work? It installs just fine, but when I select another audio setting (like dolby or SRS) I don't hear a difference. )
Thanks!

I'm having exactly the same problem. I can only hear the benefits of the Sound Enhancer when I unplug the earphones during playback and then plug them back and then I only hear the effects for 1 track then it reverts to default sound!
I remember exactly the same problem with Audio Booster on WM6.5 when it would only work for 1 song and there was a reg edit to fix it. Is there anything similar on WP7?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I think that even unpluging headphones and pluging it back isn't solving the problem. I've made some test and it seems that this trick is only changing audio volume to higher, because when I've tried few diffrent EQ stettings like Rock, Pop, Classic or Dolby mode music sound always the same. I've looked a bit in registry and found a key called DSPMODE but since I'm not a dev I have no clue what to do with it values Maybe someone with bigger knowlage could do something whit it.

OPT Volume is just too low!

The speaker volume in my OPT is very low. i cant hear my phone in crowded places.. the notification sound is also very low...so much that i cant even hear it when i keep it just 3metres apart...
I have rooted my phone just to edit the speaker volume...
Can anyone tell me if we can increase the speaker volume through it.!

You can activate the Audio Tuner and try.
I've set the maxxdialog from 0 to 50, and can't save this setting, when I open AudioTuner, this settings are allways 0!

I would second this, use the Audio Tuner, when I just set it to "game" i think the sound is much louder.

This happens when the mixer_path.xml doesn't have the correct permissions or you have disabled one of the audio service or audio tuner app.
try the following:
1. Setting the correct permissions on the mixer_path files rw-r--r--
2. Setting the correct permissions on the mixer_path files mixer_paths_i2s.xml
3. Enable the Audio Tuner service and app.
Audio tuner
How to enable audio tuner in OnePlus two please tell me

Use both speakers for speakerphone?

Recently got a US F3521 and flashed over to the Euro firmware. I've really been liking the phone but noticed today that the in-call speakerphone only uses the bottom speaker on the phone. Does anyone know how to get both speakers working or increase the volume?
Also, the audio sounds great coming from this phone in general. I just wish it could be louder...
I believed the sound from either the bottom speaker or from both speakers is decided by the applications.
In youtube & music, I have both speakers output the sound, but the top one is giving smaller volume, however, Skype can only use bottom speaker.
I also flashed a US version with Euro firmware and updated with the latest Nougot Feb update.
Hmm, on both my Z3 Compact and Z5 Compact that was the stock behavior, but by modifying mixer_paths.xml you could force louder volume overall and dual speaker use always. I never made those modifications myself, so I'm not sure, but I bet the same could be applied to the X Compact for louder audio out of both speakers.
i would give it a try, where is mixer_paths.xml hidden ?
For louder audio you can download speaker boost app from play store. Works quite well!!

You can find it in root/system/etc, and if you end up modifying the file or replacing it, you must then set permissions back to rw-r--r--
Arjun in this forum had offered to modify the file (as I'm not sure what changes to make in it), but I haven't rooted and setup my new X Compact yet to pull the file and upload it:

Speakerphone (loudness, clarity)

Proper etiquette aside (hint: don't use speakerphone while doing your "business" in a public bathroom), rate this thread to express how you think the Xiaomi Poco F1's speakerphone performs. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it's loud and it's clear.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Frankly, I'm disappointed by speakerphone
I can barely here what the other person is saying if I'm in noisy room.
Btw, it's just the call output through speakerphone that I'm unimpressed with, songs play pretty loud through speaker. One more thing I'd like to mention is, system ringtones sound louder than local files set as ringtones. This doesn't mean their sound is inadequate, it's just lower than system ringtones.
Is you facing discord mic issue while using earphone after recent update?
Is you are facing discord mic issue while using earphone after recent update of Miui 9.6.18.0
i am facinf 2 issues mainly
1- sound via pubg game is very unclear and broken and ofcourse very low after update while using earphone.
2-Mic is not working only with discord while using earphone its working fine with other applications.
Note- Earphone is not broken and i also tried other earphone same earphone working fine while calls and other stuff except this two.
Thanks.

The way the stereo speaker setup is implemented is so poor. For a stereo audio, there are two channels, left and right. One comes via the bottom firing speaker and the other comes via the earpiece. Just play a song where stereo content is significantly visible. You'll note that the channel that's played via earpiece is not at all audible, say 10% of the main speaker. It makes like an entire channel is missing. This is so disappointing.
Now, the dev team could do two things.
1) Increase the gain in the earpiece such that it becomes significantly louder. (But there is a risk of damaging the earpiece though)
2) We don't need stereo speakers at all! Disable the earpiece speaker and use just the bottom firing speaker for both right and left channels. (This is somewhat practical I guess)
Hope the stereo speaker issue is resolved soon.

Mono uses both speakers but they don't have any specific channels, ie both will play same mono audio so your channel issue should've been fixed.

yes. I just felt like the quality is better when in stereo than when in mono.
The earpiece is very unclear unlike Samsung which the earpiece is very clear.
The sound is very good, i don't know why people doesn't like it. The sound is strong and well balanced.
Don't imagine you will get a premium hi-fi audio quality with a smartphone
Audio in STEREO mode CAUSES serious issues (not only in FM Radio)
The FM Radio have issue which PREVENT the using the radio! :crying: The volume drops down up to be absolutely silent every ~10-12 seconds.
But not only the FM Radio suffers, the NEUTRON player too.
The problems exists only when the MIUI plays\operate with audio in STEREO mode. If you set audio to be MONO (System&Device --> Additional settings --> Accessibility --> AUDIO & ON-SCREEN-TEXT --> Mono audio) then the radio will not silent periodically.
Please tell this to the developers!
(The Neutron player have the issues when plugging the headphones - it stops to play streamed audio and not play it after the player restarts only once, but start to play the streams after two restarts only.
An addition issue when Neutron player used: when 3.5 plug disconnected, then the Pocophone plays short part of streamed audio after ~0.5 sec delay and then it can not be used without two restarts of the player.
The Neutron player work well when the MIUI converts (as this was described before) the audio to MONO)
NOTE:The issue with STEREO MODE AUDIO is manifesting on the genuine Pocophone Device which is managed by the LAST OFFICIAL GLOBAL MIUI ROM 10.2.3.0, as all this is stated on the following Screenshot:

Speaker Crackling
Since past 2-3 days my device POCO F1 showed up the loudspeaker Crackling issue.
Whenever I play some music the Crackling sounds occurs and when the device is on Silent mode, low crackling sound also occurs when I lock/unlock the screen, when app notification comes up, etc. Is it a hardware issue??
disappointed by the stereo speakers as the one of them used while calling is not loud ..... sound looks missing that extra punch compared to my late LG v20, and of course the microphone and noise cancelling is absolutely terrible on this phone especially when its on speaker mode in calls ( phone calls, duo calls, messenger telegram and whatsapp calls are have the same $hitty problem with echo and loud voices )

You could do that if you have PowerAmp Beta. Just go to Settings> Audio> Output and tweak the High res output settings. You could change the Bit-rate to a higher value for wired headset and bam, you're done.

ya I did that procedure but it shows Open SL ES Output active and not HiRes
Volume is low on apps like Google Play Music, Wynk etc where you have subscriptions. I have subscribed to Google Music and since the Audio is comparatively low, cannot listen to music while I am traveling. It'll be great if there is a way to enhance the volue level from the device itself and not from 3rd party music apps. Just like how XDA team did with "Google Camera".
This is what I am asking in many forum but no good solution yet
