My S8 was bootlooping because I flashed the oldest version of TWRP instead of the newest. Since I could still access download mode I asked for help on this forum and started downloading the stock rom. I had a throttled download from sammobile (took 3 hours on 100mbit connection) and at about 2am (80%in) I fell asleep on my desk. The next morning the S8 was empty. I put it on the charger for a few hours but it wouldn't turn back on. I've contacted samsung support but no replies yet, thinking about going to my nearest service center (2 hours away) if none of you can help.
Thanks for any help in advance!
Update: Samsung replied to my ticket and advised me to send it in, and one of you guys has reached out to me via pm. I'll try to follow that person's help first, and if that doesn't work, I'll send it in.

Hi Guys (and possibly even Gals)
I haven't been on in quite some time so forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I would also like to apologise in advance for the length of this post.
I really hope somebody can help. I used to have a branded Vodafone SE X10i which I debranded for obvious reasons (I'm not bloody waiting for a lifetime for updates because vodafone and there customer service are ****e) and everything was fine and dandy in the world. However I then lost my phone and had to have another issued which of course was branded but that didn't bother me because at the time it had the latest software on it. When SE sent me an email to say that 2.1 was here I was of course over joyed, that is until I found out that vodafone were once again with holding it for "testing" purposes for an apparently undeterminable amount of time. Naturally my "Voda-rage" came back with a vengance and I immediately set out to de-brand my handset once again only to find that with recent updates SE had made to PC suite and SEUS the old method I had discovered no longer worked. I tried a different method involving switching files during the update download (using SEUS) of which there is a tutorial which I have put the link to in my signature. I was unable to get this method to work for me and after 10 attempts gave up and went to "www.fastgsm.com" after reading a comment from someone having similar problems.
Now this is where I have the problem.
I paid for the debranding and they let me download a client that was supposed to flash the phone for me and put the generic uk software onto it. Everything went fine and when the program has finished it told me to unplug my phone and start it up, the only problem is that I can't, the phone will no longer switch on. The screen clearly illuminates slightly but the phone never actually starts. I did this last night and thought that perhaps I just needed to wait a while but after leaving it all night the battery just drained and the phone never started up. The phone also doesn't charge anymore, it charges enough power to try and switch the phone on, pauses to switch the phone on and of course never starts up and just sits there till the battery drains again and the cycle continues. I have e-mailed the site but have not heard anything back and I'm just hoping that somone out there is able to come up with a solution that doesn't include claiming on my insurance again!
Any and all help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated (apart from the dumb ones....only kidding please help LoL)
Kind Regards
John Murchie
Aaaahh you should have read all the threads here first! The old method for debranding using SEUS doesn't work anymore.
You could have used the flash tool (free) method to flash the X10i 2.1 Global firmware or another X10i version, just do a quick search here and you'll find different files to download.
Now it may be too late because you need your battery to be at least 50% charged when you flash a phone, might be worth a try, but remember, the X10 won't charge in flash mode (when you boot holding "Back").
I hope someone else has a solution for the battery problem, if you can get it charged, using flash tool your problem is solved.
Thanks for you input. I did look around here briefly for a solution but after trying to sort it out myself I eventually gave in and just went with the easy option of paying. only cost me £6 as well so it wasn't all that bad! I'm not really sure how I can charge the battery up either as I don't know anyone who has the phone that I could get to charge it or swap batteries. Could try Vodafone but I don't see them being all that helpful really LoL
Kind Regards
John Murchie
When you plug the charger in do you get the charge light ?
Sent from my spectrum zx
When I plug it into the charger I get a flashing red light and then after a few minutes it becomes a constant green light and then a few minutes later the light goes out and it tried to switch itself on. A few minutes later ( I assumes because the battery gives out) the screens goes dark again and the red light starts flshing and the process starts again!

To be fair, it doesn't come much easier than putting the phone in flash mode and running a flash tool. Have you taken your battery out for at least 10 seconds?, if not do so, put it back in and turn the phone on.
Evidentely I'm more dense then most people then, aren't I. I have tried removing my battery for periods of time but unfortunately to no avail. Thanks for you input!
If the battery is so drained that it can't last the few seconds that is needed to boot to the charging mode then I would suggest you go the store and ask if you can charge the battery in their display phone. 10 minutes will do to get you going.
Yes I was thinking that, only problem is the phone shops around here can be rather ****ty to say the least LoL. I'm going to pop into town and give it a go though. Be a shame to have to claim on my insurance!
I have heard back from the site that supplied the program and they asked me to send the log file and then got back to me saying that everything worked fine on there end!
Obviously it didn't or I wouldn't be having this issue >_< LoL
Hi Fellows,
Wandering around for hours and hours to find a solution with no luck and finally decided to ask it from experts here, I have faced same problem twice in different phones during same time (+/- 10 days ) in 1 year ,here is my story,
last year during the same days , my S3 went dead without a warning , kept it on table around 5am with more than 80% of the battery , checked it at around 10:30 in the morning and it was dead with email notification blinking ,it did not wake up after hours and hours of troubleshooting , went completely dead after removal of the battery and had to send it for warranty and came back after 2+ months with changed board and tear on the mid-right strip, later i sold it for way cheaper and bought note2 which worked perfectly fine for 4-5 months and then i swapped it for a note3 ,
today , after almost exactly 1 year later , my note 3 went dead and last thing i heard was an email notification ring before 5 minutes of it going dead, i am totally out of actions, last time i checked my phone around 20 minutes before that email notification and 81% of the battery ,
i am pretty sure that there is no solution which i can try as i have already tried all 4 chargers which i could collect at this time of the night including original SIII/NoteIII/Ipad/iphone5s chargers and USB pc charging too but no response, PC connectivity shows nothing , ODIN/KIES nor windows doesn't detect anything at all and there's nothing i could try to bring it back to life , tried battery removal for 1-10 minutes on different intervals but yielded nothing, checked it with ..some help would be greatly appreciated,
S3 was on unmodified stock with warranty
note3 was rooted but it was working great for almost 2 months and didn't face a single problem after root and NO WARRANTY
Did u try to boot into Recovery mode (volume up+home+power button) or download mode (volume down+home+power button)? U said your device is rooted. Did u flash any rom or are u on stock? And at least which firmware do u have 4.4.2 or 4.3?
@4aces ..i tried recovery and download modes , didnt work
device was rooted but no custom roms , it was on stock 4.3 , i was using root for blackmart and freedom

Just focus on the first link as the seccond one is used for soft bricks.
i didnt have osx or linux with me so i took it to a warranty repair center ..they didnt ask for warranty as i told them i was willing to pay repair charges ....to my surprise they fixed it in around 2 hours but it worked for no more than a minute and i took it back to them ..they have called me back after two hours....except SuperSU everything was gone and within a minute or two it was dead again
Hi,
I have bought new Samsung galaxy note 3 last month and my first samsung product.
Within 3 days it started to trouble... When plugin for charging, it is automatically started to reboot continuously and only after unplugging the charger it will restart to normal. Tried with couple of other chargers and the same issue persists during charing.
So far I have been using apple products and my brother also used to go for apple products. My brother insists to go with iPhone 5S and I want to try a new product with samsung which gone in vain though everyone might won't have this issue.
Okay..patiently packed the 2 days old..sorry should be new phone and went to samsung authorized service center traveling for 1 hr and waited for 2 hrs. I have took the video of the reboot problem and explained the issue. They got the phone and it will take 1-2 days or collection .Gave the phone to them and travelled back for another 1 hr and half a day gone.
After 2 days got the call from service center to collect the phone...during office hours with lot of excitement to use new phone took permission and travelled again for 1 hr and waited for 2 hrs for collection.asked for the problem and they have told some charging unit has been replaced.
happy back to home...put it for charger and after 20 mins I have gone out and came to room to see the same rebooting issue continuously.
no time to go to the service center due to office work as it will waste my 4-5 hours. waited for Saturday and almost for 6 days it has it been not used and inside the box..my brother started to tease me and so far using iPhone for 6 years with different models and for at least 1 year no issues... ok patience...
gone again to service center and blasted them but what use and they got the paper waiter ( that's note 3) and this time they told it will 1 week for complete checking... what to do gave them and returned back for the 2nd time.
new phone for $900 and used only 2 days...after 4 days got the call for collection and I have asked what is the problem with the phone and they have told they have replaced the mother board itself...great..I have asked to write it clearly what has been replaced in the service request form and it is what written "RPL PBA (4.4.2)"
at last started to use the new phone after 10 days and I am happy the issue is not happened again...but now after 20 days it started to have different issue... this time the Samsung logo displayed and you can't to anything...once tried with pressing the power button and it is rebooted... happened again after5 days and this time even pressing the power button didn't helped...after 30 mins I have tried again to press the power button thought of trying it before going to recovery mode and this time restarted...
this is not rooted and don't have any SD card and installed only minimum apps...and suggestion why this note 3 stuck with Samsung logo? do I need to go to service center again....
it is still with samsung official OS..below is the details
already having 1 yr warranty and thinking for paying for 1 more year...

If u want easy, bring to service center and blast them
Uf u want to test urself first, try to go into recovery and do factory reset nd wipe cache. Why?
Ur phone might did an auto update, and might did an auto reboot after that.
If still cannot, u may want to try to reflash stock official firmware.
If still fail, try to send back to service center.

Hi..Thanks for your reply. But I haven't checked for auto update. May be I will monitor for some more days if this issues happens again or not..when I am in between the office work...this type of issue is very irritating. . Unable to call or message. .. Such a pain....Doing all kind of repairing in office. ..

So last week my N910F (rooted) ran down to 20% battery and so i put it on charge, thought nothing of it, A couple hours later the phone was dead, extremely hot to touch and just a blank screen with no charging lights, So i unplugged the charger removed the battery and let it cool for about 10 mins, when i put it back together it refused to turn on, tried both recovery and download modes but still nothing tried different chargers and still no lights, nothing. took it back to my local O2 shop to see if i could send it off for repair.
Got home this evening and O2 had kindly returned my phone to my home address, with a letter saying the following -
Thank you for sending us your phone to be fixed.
One of our engineers, has tested your phone and found that unauthorised rework has been carried out on the phone. Unfortunately, this prevents us from repairing it and we are, therefore returning your phone un-repaired.
well after reading this my heart sank and i was guessing i would have to make a insurance claim and hope my insurance would somehow replace it.
I then noticed on inspection of the phone, there was for some reason a new charging cable included with the phone!!!?. I looked a bit further and noticed they had taken the phone apart and it seems they have replaced the charging port, the battery also looks brand new and there isnt a scratch on it (I had previously marked it) So it seems they have indeed carried out some work, So i plugged it into the charger and guess what, it now works fine!!!!!!!!
So thank you very much O2 repair centre!! Im guessing they had to fix it first before they could test if it was rooted or not!!! their letter was a bit confusing though!!
Congratulations

Does anybody find it weird that o2 would fix mjw2k11's Note 4 only to send it back to him saying that they couldn't fix it because he had messed around with the firmware? Anyway I'm glad that you managed to get your Note 4 fixed.
i dont find it weird. It wont turn on right. but 'O2' wont repair if anyone modify's their phone. So they want to turn it on to see if it has been modified & unofficial but they cant even do that yet. The logical thing for them is to try to get it to boot up, which they did by changing a battery or fixing inside. (which solved the OP's problem). O2 then see's that Knox counters been tripped & they dont do anything further & send it back to the owner. Happy & lucky he is
Good afternoon, here me again, this time with a different Motorola model :silly:
Well, this case is a bit... stupid, but still worry me a bit.
Short question: Is it possible what after a battery replacement, the phone could be in bootloop?
Explanation + question:
My mother's phone is currently a couple states away (I'm in Caracas, the phone is in Valencia... 200 Km away). Her phone had the battery completely dead, even turning on only connected to wall charger, and when disconnected, turning off just seconds after. The battery replacement is sold by only a single seller all across the country, located in Valencia.
I sent them the phone for they being able to install the battery. Yes, there's a high risk of they not wanting to send me the phone back, but... it's better than nothing, as the technicians in Caracas asked me to also bring the LCD+Digitizer as there were no warranty the screen surviving the replacement
They reported me on Thursday the phone was ready and set to send to Caracas. Sadly, Valencia suffered an electricity cutoff for almost 24 hours and they needed to wait until yesterday afternoon.
Finally, today they wrote me the phone is in a bootloop. Supposedly, the phone gets stuck on Lenovo logo and doesn't move forward.
I asked them to send it even with that bootloop and what I would solve it when it arrives. I need to wait until Monday for the shipping.
However... Is it possible the phone to get into a bootloop after a battery replacement? It isn't rooted or anything. All is stock with no tweaks, and was sent with a working ROM.
And if the answer is yes... Is there a way to recover things on Internal Memory? You know, Moto RAZR M had stock flashable ROMs without the CFC thing, (just 1FF), so the internal memory was left without changes and able to keep working.
Also, if someone can help me with how-to flash a ROM on this phone, I'll be very glad... On the XT907 it was just downloading the .ZIP file, getting into RSD Lite, and just select the .xml file So I'm completely new to this phone.
Oh, and side note:
It isn't even rooted. It's 100% original.
