I tried a couple of different apps for recording video streams and I've run into the same problem with both. They won't run if I don't allow them permission to access the microphone. But if I allow that access I get background noise from the mic that makes it impossible to hear the audio from the stream. I also tried apps from the Play Store to control the mic volume but it seems all them just want to boost the mic volume. Also, apps to mute the mic only disable permission, which again keeps the recording apps from running. Help!!!

Hi, i don't know if it's just my surround but whenever i try recording a video, it is always set to noise cancellation mode and i have no control to change it.
do you guys have the ability to change it from noise cancellation to stereo? i was reading about the ability to change it at phonearena's htc surround review but can't find it in my own device.
I have that option...Audio Recording Options...and it shows me Normal, Noise Reduction, and Stereo. Then again...I am having other issues with my phone like the market crashing all the time. Ringtones not working until I reboot the phone...you know the normal crap.
hi to all
I have buy the SGS2 from a few days...I don't know what I've do but I haven't no more audio when I rec a video and when I receive a call and I press the "speakerphone mode"! for normal calls without speakerphone mode the people listen me, when I press speakerphone the people don't listen me and today when I've rec a video with the camera and I've replay the video the sound there isn't, only a noise/whispering sound.
I've tried to make a echo test call with skype app and the sound registered is ok, I've also tried another rec audio app and the sound registered is ok.
The problem is only on the calls in speakerphone mode on and in the videocamera mode.
Please anybody can help me to resolve? thanx
anybody know if there's an hidden menu that's possible to reach via # and * where there are all volume settings? with videocamera volume and speakerphone volume? (I don't know if is the correct word..I talk about the "live calls sound")
The SGS2 has two microphones (one is used for example for cutting out wind noise when filming). The secondary mic is placed right next to the 3.5mm headphone jack.
It could be that the speakerphone and the camera app both use the secondary mic to record audio (since it's easy to block the main mic at the bottom when holding the phone using both these apps), while Skype on the other hand uses the main mic (so that wouldn't be affected).
If I had to guess then I would say that the secondary mic is not working on your phone
I've noticed that when I play a recorded video the 5.1 icon is in grey and if I try to activate it I receive the message "the 5.1 is available only with speakphones". If I play a normal song with the player and I try again to activate the 5.1 I receive the message "this effect isn't supported for this speaker".
I remember when was all ok, in the video player for recorded video the 5.1 icon was in white and activated
is there a secret menu where is possible to check the status of the speakers?
All of a sudden i cannot control volume of the headphones. At first i could still play music from it but after a restart no music comes out....
In both cases a message appeared that system ui had stopped.
I can still play music from internal speakers and control that volume.
I cannot recall updating or installing anny apps so i see no reason how this could happen.
I'm on CM 132160819
Hello, I noticed a issue when using my Nothing Phone.
When using my phone's speakers to play music or a media, and opening apps like banking, the bottom speaker of my phone turns off and music plays through the top speaker in a low quality (similar to how voice calls audio are managed). I have to manually pause and resume the music/media after leaving the app to make the bottom speaker work again.
Anyone has noticed a similar issue?
What could be a way to fix it?
The 2 things that could cause this in my mileage would be the biometric prompt or the flag-secure element of the app, but I don't see why it would affect audio.
I set the output to -15dB, and my car doesn't have an internal amp.
the volume is set to 2 and it is still too loud, but at 1 I hear nothing.
Then I check the Android's sound control, on my new HU, the Android's sound control is locked and hidden. I can only find the setting by using some software.
But seems the control is locked, if I lower the sound, then it reset itself again.
I think the topologic is:
android system output sound → HU's AMP → Speaker
Normally I'm changing the gain of the HU's AMP, if the system output sound is too loud then everything will be too loud.
So Is there any software that can unlock the volume control in android system?
Look on google playstore. They have several volume control programs. One might work for you.
