If anyone is having trouble with stock roms in odin lz4 extension. - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

I spend best part of 2 days (40 hours at it with porn breaks) trying different stock roms and they all passed in 4 seconds but nothing changed on the phone. Apparently the odin i had was the latest 3.12 but it doesn't support the lz4 extension which i kept seeing in odin.
There's an update 3.13 that wasn't there yesterday and it supports lz4.
I downloaded the roms from sam and updato both had this lz4 extension.
So don't suffer like i did, screaming at the dog and pulling my hair out!

[Q] Soft Bricked S5 Need Lolipop Firmware Download

Hello, about 30-40 days ago, I updated my android to lolipop. I was having alot of problems so I decided to Flash my phone back to kitkat 4.4.2. Long story short this didnt work and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop with no firmware on it. I've spent about 12 hours trying to fix it, doing things such as a factory reset (wont work b/c no firmware) and yet again flashing kitkat, which fails in odin every time. I recently heard from my carrier and a samsung rep that I cant downgrade. However I've scoured the internet and cannot find a .tar file for lolipop. I found a Rom .zip file with an assortment of folders and files but I cant flash that with odin. I have a Galaxy S5 from AT&T, (sm-g900a). Im unsure the specific version of lolipop, as I said I updated about 30-40 days ago. If someone could provide help and a download link For a .tar file of the lolipop firmware for g900a, I would appreciate it immensely. I don't have a micro sd card atm, but can get one if theres no other way to fix. also, what version of of odin should I use, I have 1.85, 3.09, and 3.10.

Sorry can't link because each of those sites are banned here due to not adhering to XDA rules, but they are legitimate ROM source sites
Both of those sites only have kitkat 4.4.2, downgrading wont work, it fails every time, I need a download link for lolipop 5.0 if you cant post here, please email it to me at meowmix226(AT)gmail(DOT)COM

VZN S5 rooting issue with NK2 - corrupt kernel file - need help!

Hello all,
I have an S5 running 4.4.4 and the (G900VVRU1A)NK2 build and need to root it (I have been delaying the Lollipop OTA each morning for months and am sick and tired of it).
I have read multiple threads and found a lot of step-by-step and YouTube videos on how to do it by reverting back to the older NCG kernel, running several apps (tr_v2.apk, BusyBox.apk, Safestrap-G900V-3.75-KitKat.apk and SuperSU) , then going back to the NK2 kernel, but each one points to a bad G900V_NK2_Stock_Kernel.tar file or no file at all.
I have searched for and downloaded over twenty G900V_NK2_Stock_Kernel.tar files from various sites without success. Every time I find one, then try and load it in Odin, it will show the file to be invalid including the one on this forum at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784880 (actually, it will hang Odin, but if I try the NCG kernel, it validates it fine).
Does anyone know where to find a good NK2 file?
I have found several good NI2 kernel files but worry that since my phone is at NK2, there could be an issue. Is this correct (and I should NOT use the NI2 kernel file in place of the NK2 one)?
Thanks for any help.

UPDATE: NEVER MIND - FOUND A GOOD NK2. ROOTING PROCESS WORKED FINE.

N910F (CSC: AMO) firmware flashing issues and Reboots?

Good day!!!
Newb to firmware flashing here - a little back story first
Some days ago (before the holidays so more or less 2 weeks ago) my Note 4 started to turn off or reboot into download mode indicating mmc read fail (at the moment I was running CM12.1 under the N910FXXU1ANIE baseband) so I went and googled this and that and general data found was --> FLASH STOCK FIRMWARE (then do you custom stuff)
So after some more searching and asking around here (thank God for XDA) I found out which firmware I had to flash... here is where my problems started
The CSC:AMO firmwares I found always return error due to partition size errors
I found and downloaded the following files
AMO/N910FXXU1ANIE/N910FAMO1ANI4/ I was more intent on this one since its CSC is AMO & it was showing the same baseban name as I had before
AMO/N910FXXU1COI3/N910FAMO1COI1/ It was the only other AMO file on the site for the N910F....
So I recalled that on other Samsung phones I had to flash the Pit with the recovery and so else since the pit has the partition values and etc... so I tried using the default PIT file found here (in XDA) but I have the same partition size error (just different size number error?)
So after staying up till morning I was told by a user @ G+ to try with the N910FXXU1COJ3/N910FBTUCOI1.... and it worked!!!! but the thing is I want to try and get my phone as it was before (AMO/N910FXXU1ANIE) or at least with the "latest" (AMO/N910FXXU1COI3/N910FAMO1COI1) any way you could help me out with the pit file???

Did you still have the PIT file for AMO?
i need it man

Flashing stock ROM

I've had various ROMs on my Note 4 SM-N910F the latest being Lineage. I've now decided to return to stock but after a couple of days of tearing my hair out trying to do this I came up against a brick wall. I'm in the UK and my Note 4 is locked to Vodafone so I sourced the following ROMs from Sammobile and Updato:
N910FXXU1DRI2_N910FVFR1DRI1_VOD
SM-N910F_1_20181022224027_54aed38d3j
I used Odin versions 3.12.3, 3.07, 3.13.1 to flash the above ROMs and TWRP BUT this keeps happening every single time I use Odin to flash anything..... (see attachment)
What I hadn't realised (normally I'm more careful) and what I'd forgotten to check was the battery had run down completely so Odin kept on failing. The phone was coming on alright but it was only being powered by the USB connection to the PC. So as a result I wasted hours. I mention this here in case someone else has the same issue. After a charge I finally and successfully flashed the stock ROM and after clearing the caches managed to boot into a perfect stock Note 4.
Moral of the story is check and double check your battery before flashing and clear your caches.
is everything going fine with your N910FXXU1DRI2?
I am thinking about upgrading N910FXXU1DQL2 to PDA N910FXXU1DRI2

GALAXY S10+ (beyond2lte?) Cannot Install Magisk Stuck During Odin Flashing

I am trying 2 days well 24hrs solid almost now to get root on a Galaxy S10+ I suspect is the beyond2lte it's been nothing short of living hell I am growing to hate this S10+ as a result of this to be honest, it has a moisture detected warning cvlearly a myth but any wasy it's running but it cannot flash past mobdem.bin once creating a patched AP when using home_csc file in the arrangement of files to flash it gets to modem bin choosing the alternate csc file included it only gets to vendor.img when flashing with this patched AP file switching the AP to the original can flash either option without issues.
I don't understand what the problem is I tried without reboot andc with makes no difference any way but just incase, also switched the cable and ports still no good I am using windows 11 is this potentially the cause by any chance does it have to be windows 10 to weork fully I don't know but I desperately need help guys please.
The only other logic I can assume to be possibnly right is it's stuck on this modem because it isn't the beyond2lte so if it isn't how do you know which it is?
