I've got Samsung S8 Snapdragon with firmware G950U1UEU3CRD4 and is there any way to root it? I tried PartCyborgRom and i doesn't work for me or i did something wrong. I've read that there is a problem with bootloader revision > 2 and i'm a little bit confused.

Currently all snapdragon phones with locked bootloader have no root method, also of you are on newest bootloader you cannot run patrtcyborg
Is there any update in rooting S8 with SD? Or is there any chance to root in near future?

Hello,
I my first smart phone was the galaxy s4. I rooted that one with no problem after only researching for a couple hours and following simple YouTube tutorials, but that phone has lived too long.
I have recently gotten a Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 5 model number SM-N920P. It is running stock Android 6.01. I would like to root my phone to have the full access i once had to full back ups, easy controller support etc. I have looked around for a few days now and can not find a tutorial to root with the sprint variant on the newest OS. Most are on Lollipop and I read a lot of people bricking their phones. Any help would be appreciated.
Does the phone have a locked bootloader? If yes, this may be why there is no root method yet for MM.

Yes the bootloader is locked. It is a new phone. Have only had it for a couple of weeks. So Im out of luck? I cannt root my device.
Doesn't look like an exploit is available at the moment.
Good Morning, is it possible to root a S7 Edge SM-G935W? All I see are references to G935F. Should I try to flash my ROM to the international model, and would that work and not brick my phone?
I am trying to root my phone as the battery is draining really fast and want to switch to a debloater ROM. I would appreciate any help/guidance in this process.
Thanks,
Vicente
I was wondering the same thing. I've found this link but I'm not sure if want to try it. Check it out.

If you are talking about the Canadian version g935W8.
there is 2 methods using supersu from chainfire or magisk latest version which has the root as part of the installation process.
Both these versions require TWRP.
Yes I have the Canadian version, it uses the Snapdragon so I wasn't sure but this is great news ! How come the US varients don't allow?
But I guess I have to know first if the bootloader is unlocked... Does anyone else using Bell know if the bootloader is unlocked?
Oh my god I'm a dork I got the model wrong. I've got the s8+ SM-G955W.
Is there any progress in finding the solution to open the bootloader for these units?
Or is this just a lost cause and the bootloader for these units will always be locked.
No TWRP or ROMS to load to get rid of TW. Sad.

It's a lost cause, the bootloaders for snapdragon will remain locked forever.
It's not like most other bootloaders which are all rootable with proper software.
The snapdragon bootloaders are infused in the phone's hardware.
Next time when you purchase a Samsung phone be sure it has the Xynos cpu
chip and rooting will be a breeze. (took me a full minute to root)
All Samsung Galaxy phones which have the Xynos chip are not
only easily rootable but they all come factory sim unlocked.
Good luck, have a great day!
Thanks for the response. Very Sorry, like most of us, that this is a done deal!
I know this has been asked before, but it's been a year.
I have a friend who got themselves a Sprint S7 Edge. As far as I know the SIM lock is gone. Now he wants to get TWRP on it to be able to root it. I've been searching the internet for solutions and came over several guides that showed me how to root it, but no trustworthy recovery guide. The model number (SM-G935P/hero2qltespr) and processor are also confusing me. And as it seems there are no custom ROMs for the Sprint S7 either?
Im sorry if this thread is unnescesarry and Im simply missing something out or am too stupid.
All help is greatly apreciated.
there are 2 different methods depending on whether your phone is a exynos or snapdragon version.
which version does your phone say. Most us version are Qualcomm (snapdragon).
here is the link for snapdragon verion make sure it is the right one for your phone.

Its the Snapdragon Version. I followed the link but I noticed that the download link doesnt work. Why so?
Also, the guide I found linked me to the Exynos version of TWRP though the Model is the sprint one. Is it a mistake or right?

Woke up to my phone being delivered today =D. However, I haven't found if this is the version with the SD chip or the Exynos chip. Also, I'd like to know if anyone knows for sure yet if this versions bootloader can be unlocked, as I would like to root it when possible. Also if someone can explain the difference between unlocked BL root and locked BL root that'd be great. What can one do that the other can't? I'm still not too sure what I want to do with the root other than some status bar customization, ad blocking and possibly a custom boot animation. Thanks for answers in advance.

You'll have to post a model number or Google your model number to find the chip. What country are you in because that will tell you what processor you have. If you're in the US and ordered from Samsung then it's a snapdragon and not root able.
It can be rooted
