SafetyNet CTS profile missmatch on official firmware - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hello there,
history of my device:
brand new s8 950F with XEH firmware
- flashed official oreo xeo
- flashed renovate-ice
- came back to official oreo xeo
im getting cts profile mismatch on official firmware, i know that knox is tripped after installing renovate-ice, but is that what causes the problem?
Google play displays device uncertified and safetynet fails on official, so i cant use google pay or even download netflix, i can use my native bank app and got no errors though., but it seems it has different security mechanisms which is not based on safetynet. On renovate-ice native bank app fails to connect to my debit card even when is added to magisk hide and safetynet passes.
I'd like to be able to use both apps: google pay and my native bank app.
Is there any solution to this?

Ok, nevermind, native bank app is now randomly working in renovate ice

How did you restore your phone?
I recommend to flash the whole and newest firmware for your s8 again. After flash, go directly to android system recovery and perform a factory reset...

OTA on rooted stock? (AT&T)

Hey guys,
Noticed today I had a OTA update available from AT&T. Wondering it I should or can download and install it? I'm currently running a rooted stock Rom using a few xposed modules and have twrp as recovery.
Does anyone know what the update brings? The phone doesn't offer any information.
Thanks
It won't install since you have a custom recovery. Need stock recovery to install OTA's.

Problem with SM-G9280 (NEED HELP!)

Hello to everyone,
I recently bought an SM-G9280, and didn't know at the moment that was a version from China.
Okay, the problem is that I can't get Play Store to work in any way.
I rooted the device, tried many google services APK's, installing gapps from opengapps (and could only install pico version because of the partition storage limit).
When I install pico version from gapps, I can't log in because always shows an error saying "You didn't sign up to use this phone" or something like that and then I have to flash the phone again with the stock rom (6.0.1 version).
Okay, what I've tried: Rooting, installing google services apk, tried a lot of versions (not all of them).
Installing gapps services using TWRP. (gets me to the error that I exposed already).
What I think it could work but need some help: Flashing it with the stock rom of SM-G9287 (which is hong kong s6 edge+, but I readed somewhere that it could work, also readed that we need something called PIT from the SM-G9280).
If you have the same device and you did actually install Play Store, please tell me how or the right way to do it.
Hope you can help me, I am from Venezuela and getting this kind of phone isn't cheap.
P.D: It is an official version of Samsung, not a copy.
Hope you can help me.
Listen i have a sugesstion cause i used to use chinese non xda roms on this device first of all do you have a recovery

I just installed CP and BL files for G930T QE1 and AP and CSC files from here,
Rooted with mix of Goodroot by @Quickvic30 and Nougat_S7_Root_2_82_All_Carriers_V1.zip by @jrkruse (used supersu from v1.zip and root script from goodroot, edited root script lines to point to 2.82 apk), installed kernel auditor and set both cpu govenors to ONDEMAND, WOWWW, MY PHONE is completely **** free, rooted, faster than ever, no more lagging whatsoever, and just feeling so great of a device that I always knew it is but never felt by its performance.
Thanks @muniz_ri, He has always posted many firmwares that I used, I just was in process of upgrading my S7 yesterday, didnt see this updates posted by him and had to wait 4+ hours to get it from SamMobile, so I just uploaded to mega myself, hope it helps anyone.

The BL and CP link provided is already the TMO version of the modem. No need to find an flash TMO modem separately for VOLTE, 4x4mimo, etc to work ? I am not looking to root. Just want to have a bloat free firmware.

Question: how do I de-bloat this sucker? I don't like all of these samsung apps on here...
I have not receive my S7 yet, waiting for them to ship to me. I am curious how did it go with you. Are you able to use Radio, VOLTE, wifi calling, mimo, etc. In regard to the Samsung Bloat, the only way is to root and uninstall. How's the performance and battery wise. Thanks for your feedback. . Hope to get my phone by next week.
OK, to clear some things up,
THIS IS OFFICIAL SAMSUNG.
I believe it does not trip knox if you are not planning to modify system. If you are please follow root guides.
BL and CP are from G930U, in my case I just flashed them and they are working more than good enough for my purposes, but if you prefer TMO ones, please grab them from https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...ware-g930t-qe1-android-7-0-5-27-2018-t3613122 thread by muniz and thank him for uploading them.
about usage: Battery life is excellent, however I am rooted so I had to flash engineering boot image, Which of course makes phone lag, but I took care of lag using Kernelauditor and setting CPU to ondemand. I let kernelauditor do its thing whenever I restart phone by leaving it alone for 2-3 minutes. after that I can not see any difference in performance of Stock 930U and rooted 930U. Adfree is a MUST for me so I love root. Try that and decide for yourself, Oh I love samsung feature that puts background apps to sleep. I think it has given huge battery boost and I go thru day with moderate usage easily.

If you want stock android experience, I did it on my galaxy s7edge, flashed the custom ROM from FlashFire. Please refer to this thread for more info: https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/development/rom-t3572739
It totally worked for me and I am not going back, but I dont think that rom is available for S7, wouldn't hurt requesting if you really want it.
@nanunoran .....TY for clarifying the files. and ty for providing the link to the TMO modem.
Hello everyone, I am using G930T and already converted to G930U running QC1 (April 1. 2017) version of 7.1. What is the easiest way to update to QD2 with baseband ending in QC1? I prefer not having to re-install all apps and loose data as I have no root. Checking for updates doesn't bring up the notification that update is available for download/install. Thank You for your help.

Here is what i would do
1. Download matching G930U CP file from one of threads in this forum and odin it. So all of your firmware parts are now matched. You cannot get OTA update if firmware is hybrid.
2. Do OTA to update your G930U firmware to the latest one.
3. Then odin latest G930T CP file from another threads here in the forum.
Dont forget to wipe cache to avoid problems or issues.
Before you do everything above, i would say wait a day or two since another G930U is soon to be out anytime now. Check sammobile.
Hope above helps.

Fingerprint work for me.
Anyone having issue with samsung pay?
I did what the origin author did but without root (at least not yet).
Flash:
G930T QE1 for CP and BL files (CP_G930TUVS4BQE1 and BL_G930TUVS4BQE1)
G930T QE2 for AP and CSC (AP_G930UUEU4BQE2 and CSC_OYM_G930UOYM4BQE2)
I follow the instruction and able to flash U version with no issue. I have been using it since. I also flash the TMO version of the CP files and I am able to get VoLTE and WIFI calling. I did not experience any fingerprint issue or samsung pay issue.. However, My problem is that the U version camera does not have the shutter sound options to turn off. The Tmobile version have that option within the camera settings. Can I somehow get the TMO version of the camera app and odin it or sideload it. If so, where can I get it.
And to be quite honest, the TMO version doesn't really have that much bloatware in compare. Just a few TMO apps. Trust me, I use to be with ATT and their phones are bloat cancer.
@vinberry,
Which BL did you flash? Can you posh all the version of each file you flash with? thanks.
@gundamdx. I flashed the U version of BL, AP, CSC files as provided by @nanunoran and flashed the TMO version of the CP file. I have no problem with SPay. Also, if you are looking to unlock you sim, you need to do it while you are still in tmobile firmware and use their unlock app. The app doesn't work in the U firmware. It will indicated something like device not qualify to unlock. remember what I mentioned about the camera shutter sound if that's something that would bother you.

If you love that feature...check this out. This is the most current version that can be installed on our API 24 from apkmirror. When you install this on top of the existing device maintenance feature, it allows you to completely put just about any user app to sleep for good! It adds another section under "Battery" called "Always sleeping apps".
Description: "Select apps that will be put to sleep immediately when they aren't being used. Always sleeping apps will never run in the background. They may not receive updates or send you notifications"
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...ce-maintenance-1-0-26-2-android-apk-download/
worked great on my device. thank you for taking your time to help others.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Neo(SM-J701MZDNZTO) TWRP

Ok, i bought this phone recently and i just realized that is a new smartphone from Samsung..i searched everywhere but seems that there is no TWRP or ROOT for this model SM-J701MZDNZTO... will there ever be one? There is a bunch of good apps that doesnt work without root that i miss from my previous smartphone.....
Thanks
I tried to install the J701F TWRP for a while it work but was unstable...ended up having to reflesh to original stock rom... it sucks having a android phone that doesnt have root ...
Same problem u.u
Any prediction to access the root of the galaxy j7 neo?
Im waiting for it too!
Did you find any solution? To root j701m
anyone found anything?
Something to try?
Don't know guys, for sure this device doesn't have a custom ROM ...Yet! I hope but if you have an unlocked bootloader(and if you don't, as I did, there's still hope) it can still be rooted, I used this method here to root:
https://unofficialtwrp.com/root-twrp-galaxy-j7-neo-sm-j701m/
I used it on my device (SM-J701M) and it worked, the TWRP version is unofficial (It's supposed to be compatible with J7 core, J7 neo & J7 nxt models) and a bit buggy but it's better than nothing, and you'll get root, so if it helps kudos to you all.
A word of caution: make a backup, it's pretty easy with SmartSwitch
For those who may have a locked bootloader after the Oreo update as I did, you can reinstall/flash your firmware from SamMobile (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-j7-neo/firmware/#SM-J701M), using Odin, in most cases, the security patch is not upgraded yet and the firmware version still has the option to unlock bootloader in Developer Options.
You will have to create an account, and you must be specific with your device's carrier, take a note of your baseband version as that will give you an idea of the firmware you will download. I've also successfully upgraded to Pie. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

How to check firmware/hardware integrity on Nokia 6 TA-1054?

Hi!
I just received my Nokia 6 TA-1054 yesterday. Unfortunately turning it on, it has a 7.1.1 on, with a patch from 2017-Nov-6. No update since.
Tried several method to get the OTA going, like factory resetting and wiping the google services framework cache after startup and checking. Tried VPNs different regions. Alao tried with and without simcards, before and after a factory reset. I did not tried an other carrier sim yet, but it did not get an update before I inserted my SIM so I'm not full of hope here.
My question is: Can I check if I have the original rom or had the shop installed some other firmware that would break the OTA?
Thanks for any suggestion, cheers!
Maybe I'm just thinking for myself here, but I figured if the device came with Play Store preinstalled, it ahould be some custom rom isn't it?
By the way Nokia support said the device should bbare an original ROM. They needed the IMEI1 to check. Can they know from the IMEI number alone?
Same problem

I have the same problem with my phone. I purchased it in China without knowing that it's a customized ROM. I want to receive OTA updates. Any suggestion?
Well, I sent mine back to the local vendor, because laws in Hungary allow me to do that, and puchased a gloval version from amazon.de.
The main reason to do this was that the china variant is not in the android one program.
As a solution, because global version started to roll out, if you can't switch the phone, I'd just wait until someone dumps their rom, and would try to flash that.
