Hi There,
I got a new Car kit (double din with navigation and all).
My snap does not connect to the unit via bluetooth, the head set icon does appear now and then, but on the car kit is just displayes connecting... the whole. However if I dial a number out from my snap, the call does go through the car kit, but wont accept incoming calls. I dont receive error message anywhere.
The reason I think it must be the snap is that I tested the car kit unit with a blackberry and nokia (2 diffrent nokias) and it works like a charm.
I went through the settings a million times and the few options i have i have toggled... SIM accessablitt, pass key, visibility. I tried adding the unit via snap and also allowed the unit to discover the phone, all comes to the same result.
I also tried googling the problem but can't find anything.
Any help or suggestion will be much much appreciated.
Thank you
hi guys
new to the forum, hopefully someone will be able to help me
my unit has stock MTCC-KLD6-V2.97 Aug 02 2016 with a RK3188 and 1024x600 screen
Firstly the Bluetooth is not working, quite a lot of apps hang at the part where it try's to turn the BT on, especially one app i really need to work.
I honestly don't know what model of BT chip is installed in the head unit, apparently its BT 4.0 as listed on there website
I have been into the factory menu and changed the BT from WQ_BC6 to WQ_BC6B (as suggested somewhere in this forum) but it has made no change and the BT is still hanging at powering on.
Eonon have told me that the Bluetooth only work with devices that don't require a pin and the radar detector device i need to connect does not require a pin but still it does not work.
Not quite sure if eonon has set the setting wrong and i need to change it or i need to goto a custom rom or I need to pull the unit apart to find out.
Found someone else having trouble getting there ALPconnect app to work aswell on these units, in know ALPconnect wont work on older unit like the 4.4.4 as they only had BT 2.0 and the ALP BT only supports 4.0, but this android unit has 4.0 so it should not be a problem but it is.

The app I use, ALPConnect, does the exact same thing. Fortunately, the hardware on mine includes a hardwired speaker and GPS setup that work standalone. The benefit of the app was to get a nice big visual notification of a trap, as it would come into focus, duck the audio and play an alarm. It would also report the frequency of the radar and the type of laser hitting me. While I can get by without all that, I can't have the music blaring like I usually do, as the little speaker is only so loud and the Joying head unit doesn't have Mute Input wire to duck the audio.
While this is going slightly off topic, you may want to look into the AL Priority, it can interface with your V1 too and you will also gain laser protection. This thing has saved my a** countless times and paid for itself already many times over.

Secondly the control menu in the android head unit for accessing the cars buttons via cambus does not work, all steering wheels button seem to communicate back and work, but i cannot set my clock on my mazda 3.
Also have noticed that the radio wont mute when notification occur or when using other apps like google maps, no way to set the different volumes in this stock rom. Have played around with the factory menu volumes but it makes no diffidence.
Is it viable and worth changing to a different ROM, like Malaysk? or should i message eonon?
any help would be much appreciated
thanks

I'm having exactly the same issue with a Pumpkin MTCC-KLD6-V2.91. (RK3188/1024x600)
The device I want to pair with appears in Bluetooth settings (with a phone icon?) but connecting to it does nothing. It's just a Bluetooth SPP device, like so many other devices.
Malaysk's ROM (from 7/25) doesn't change anything here.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Waiting on a reply from Eonon, but initial news is not good.
Some serious BT issues in this model the MTCC
Anyone know if any Malaysk's Rom's avalable for the MTCC-KLD6-V2.91 that have no BT issues
I'm having the same issue, though my unit (MTCC KLD6) does not show any devices at all to pair with, and the car unit does not appear on my phone.
I'm wondering - if I take a usb BT dongle and attach it to the usb cable, would that work?
I think it might be another issue with your BT, it should connect to your phone at very least.
Have you had a look in your factory menu to see if the MCU has the Bluetooth option set?
Password for me was 126
Unfortunately the unit does not support external USB Bluetooth and probably never will, unless the manufacturer MTC/Klyde adds the required drivers to the unit or a Awesome developer by some stroke of luck here adds it to the unit. I doubt to see the feature in this unit

Thanks for the reply. Yes, i checked to make sure Bluetooth was enabled in the system settings. I've tried a few of them (change setting, reboot, attempt pairing), i guess the next step is to try them all one by one to rule that out. I've sent an email to the seller to see if they have any ideas.
The vendor told me to connect the Key-1 & Key-2 wires from the canbus to the car, not sure why they'd think that would solve BT issues?
Did this fix the issue? I'm unable to see any Bluetooth devices and other Bluetooth devices don't see it.
Sorry to dig up an old thread
I have the Eonon GA2180a (android 10) - and having similar issues to here
I want to pair a bluetooth remote (read, steering wheel controls) to the head unit, but the bluetooth search just shows blank! I can connect to it using my phone but it appears some things are hidden to connect to with these android units? Looks like the bluetooth 'app' is the only way to connect too, theres nothing in the android settings to access a bluetooth menu or anything.
Did anyone get anywhere with this ?
cheers
I’ve been going around in circles trying to choose the correct Android head unit. It either has this but doesn't have that or does this but doesn't do that. For the past few years, I’ve had a Parrot Asteroid. I love it’s bluetooth, hands-free and ipod capabilities. It also got me interested in having the full Android os in my car (Parrot doesn't provide this).
So, I decided to make a list of exactly what I'm looking for, and enlist the advice of those who have hands-on experience with various Android head units to find the one I really want. I’m looking for a unit with the following (or, as close as I can get):
Bluetooth that downloads my contacts from phone to unit and allows me to receive and make calls from the unit. I have an iPhone 7. Voice activated calls would be nice, but not required.
Bluetooth that plays iPhone music, AND displays music info on unit and can be controlled (forward, back) from unit.
Full android o/s with ability to download and run apps from Playstore.
Usb, microphone, sd and bluetooth accessible to Android o/s and apps.
(In my research, I have discovered that a unit may have a built-in mic , usb and bluetooth; however, while the unit firmware can access them, apps running under Android o/s can’t)
Ipod capability -- Once iphone is connected via usb, I can search and play phone music library from the unit itself.
(All the video examples I have been able to find show a phone connected to a unit, and while the music plays on the unit, it is controlled on the phone)
I have read a lot about the Newsmy Carpad, and while the Android o/s functionality is exactly what I want, it is not clear from the videos I’ve seen how the Bluetooth (for phone and music) works in the real world, or if it even has ipod capability.
Interested in any suggestions about any units with which folks have real experience making calls and listening to music.
Thanks!!
Morning all
Bought a new work van which come with a sony double din headunit and the bluetooth was useless kept dropping the connection while driving, So before i crashed into the back of someone to keep reconnecting it i bought a new headunit, The one in the link below.
https://ebay.co.uk/itm/9-Android-8-...lf-Touran-Caddy-Jetta-EOS-Sharan/142821418704
So far so good apart from a few issues
The torque app does not pair with my OBD2 dongle but works fine streaming from my phone using the amazon music app
The wifi is next to useless and very slow, I can see my home wifi network and can connect to it, Then it disconnects straight away, The aerial symbol shows a maximum strength signal then shows the empty aerial signal with zero strength
Using my mobile in the van as a wifi hotspot works ok but is very slow and pretty much unusable
The canbus decoder is wired wrong i think, I open the drivers door and it shows on the headunit as the passenger door is open and vice versa, The passenger side sliding door shows as the correct door open as does the boot
Have bought the DAB+ add on box but will not be fitting that until this weekend possibly if i can sort out the above issues
Front and rear cameras are also on order for reversing and dashcam useage, again these are not going to be fitted for the same reason
Other than that its a good headunit but can the issues above be sorted out or send it back and get the xtrons one as it's exactly the same?????
I have uploaded pictures to my google drive of,
Whats in the box
Headunit fitted in the dadhboard
Headunit showing different screens
Headunit specs android version, memory, kernel etc etc
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1BNqfitMlJSrCySuVWI4ncMUDB6KUSES9
This is the xtrons one would it be any better or would it suffer from the same issues??
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XTRONS-9...613935?hash=item1ca766c2ef:g:uJIAAOSwRChayxq7
Any help on the above issues would be appreciated as i am still in the time frame for sending it back via paypal if its not fixable
I bought the head unit for my Passat b7, seems like a good unit but my iPhone 7 keeps disconnecting or even not connected at all to the phone, also my mobile WLAN connection seems sometimes working sometimes not.
I installed an Atoto S8 (2nd generation) head unit in my car, and I'm noticing that it only reconnects to whoever drove the car last.
For example, I usually drive the car. But when my wife drives, we need to manually go into settings to find the list of paired devices on the unit and then click on her phone to connect. After that, it will auto-connect whenever she drives until I take the car. My phone won't connect anymore unless I go into the list of paired devices and do that same thing. Silly and annoying because we share the car sometimes and have to keep track of who drove last if we want our phones connected.
I reached out to Atoto because their linux-based F7 didn't do this (I owned one previously), it would reconnect to any previously paired device automatically like any head unit should (obviously most recent first, but then if not found move on to another previously paired). They said the Android based units don't work like that, then gave me a silly reason for it that didn't make sense (something about security unlocking which the F7 doesn't have to worry about).
I'm wondering, do all Android head units have this issue or is it unique to this brand?
