I was just viewing various system registry... and came across some keys that I've never before noticed in the past.
They really aren't too outlandish, but I'm wondering if folks are interested in "testing" what exactly these registry edits "do" in terms of whether or NOT they are enhancements or NOT much of anything.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE ALTERATIONS TO THE SYSTEM REGISTRY IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH ADVANCED WINDOWS MOBILE CAPABILITIES!
Now, having said all of that... here are a few of those interesting "tweaks" I've come across:
1.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd: WM7KeybdLayout - "0"
By default this registry value is ZERO... perhaps if "enabled" by using "1" as the replacement value, something "cool" may happen.
2.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Gestures\Touch: Disabled - "0"
By default this registry value is ZERO... and I'm not entirely sure what this COULD allow your system to do, but it may be "cool" also.
3.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Performance: Available RAM on boot - "327274496"
By default this registry value is LIST ABOVE, and perhaps editing this value, and making it larger could allow for a more "hasty" booting process.
4.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\WebSnapShot: Enabled - "0"
By default this registry value is ZERO... but I'm wondering if this will allow for some kind of built-in screen shot function to "snap" thumbnail images of your online browsing history. Assumed value to "enable" it, should be "1".
5.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell: AnalogClock - "0"
By default this registry value is ZERO... so I figure changing this value to "1" might "create" some kind of analog clock on for Manila.
6.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shell: HasKeyboard - "0"
By default this registry value is ZERO... and to be quite honest, this seems pretty obvious that it will "allow" or display the keyboard somewhere on the "shell" of your device. Assumed value to "enable" it, should be "1".
7.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight
This ENTIRE key has some pretty interesting settings that can be adjusted for advanced or unseen backlight settings.
8.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\AllLEDMgr
Here is the key in which you can adjust the LED settings such as interval.
9.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Audio\SoftwareMixer: SampleRate - "268435456"
The default value is listed above, but my query involves whether or not tampering with this could resolve the "audio delay" for some users.
10.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Power
Here is the key in which you can adjust the values to be labeled for battery power settings. HIGH, MEDIUM, and LOW. The percentage before the system provides a warning can be changed.
11.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Display
Here is the key in which you will find a majority of your advanced display settings for your device.
12.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Qualcomm\DSM
Here is the key in which I believe you might find another possible solution for the audio delay, considering one of the string values is "250" as a file queue setting.
13.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\USBtoPC
Here is the key in which you'll find the way to REMOVE or otherwise disable the "popup" window that appears whenever you connect your device via USB to a desktop PC.
14.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\MASD
THIS KEY, THIS KEY RIGHT HERE FOLKS... this is VERY important for those of you who are trying to figure out what "official" version number of specific services is currently installed on your device.
15.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\OEM Links\T-Mobile Help - "0"
Enabling this key by changing the value to "1" should provide for a direct system link to the T-Mobile support network for the HD2. This is very similar to the Microsoft error reporting services.
16.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Calendar: ShowLunarCalendar - "0"
By enabling this, you should be able to have the Lunar Calendar displayed within the HTC system calendar... among other things. Assumed value to "activate" this should be "1".
17.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome
Here is where you'll find a laundry list of options to make changes to the original WM6.5, "Titanium".
18.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Pictures\ImageSendSize
Here is where you'll find 3 sub-keys that contain resolution values that can be altered in order to provide a "bigger picture" for MMS or uploads.
19.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\Image
This key will open up a list of options that will allow you to change various settings for image capture and resizing.
20.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PhoneCanvas
In this key you'll find options that will allow you to make changes to the picture size for contacts.
21.) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE
Here are more device settings for in-call and beyond.
ENJOY!
Oh, and don't hesitate to leave a bit of feedback. Thanks.
I am patiently waiting for you to try these and update the post.
I sure as heck don't plan to "play" with my registry
As soon as the store calls to tell me that mine is *FINALLY* in, I'll be happy to test some of those out. As long as you back up your registry before you do anything (and aren't afraid of a Hard Reset as a last resort), there shouldn't be any issue trying these...any of the changes you make can be reversed that way.

Agreed fellas. This stuff seems interesting. I haven't played with these listed items just yet. I was so exhausted last night while skimming through tons and tons of registry keys... that I may have gotten a little desperate to post this rather than test each one.
Some are just useful tips, but others I have not before seen on the EURO model of the HD2. For instance, the WM7 keyboard... that's rather curious, huh?
5 - puts tiny analog clock where digi clock is by battery
6 - for phones with hardware keyboards
14 - can change that to fake any system info you like
18 - doesnt necessarily work. best way ive yet to find to fix the small mms size on some networks is the mms userprofile tweak that reports it as a diamond, and the mms useragent as a nokian95. (I can tfind the link, sorry)
3.) HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Performance: Available RAM on boot - "327274496"
By default this registry value is LIST ABOVE, and perhaps editing this value, and making it larger could allow for a more "hasty" booting process.
When I looked I had a lower value, "281640960". I increased it to "327274496" startup seems a bit faster, not much. I'm gonna try increasing it later. On another note, slide to unlock seems to be faster. Of course this could all be in my head.

This looks suspiciously like overclocking to me. If it is, I doubt that the S2U being faster is in your head...
Are you sure that "on boot" only means during the bootup process and not the original RAM available before the processes kick in?

What's weird though is that the value keeps changing, on every boot it's a different value. On the last boot, it was 280760320.

Then it just about has to be a record and not reference value. Shoulda known it wouldn't be that easy

Thanks for the reports.
And yeah, I noticed that as well... yet my value is always relatively in the same demographic in terms of "high" or "low".
But yes, it is some "lowbrow" version of overclocking, but as far as I know... it only pertains to the RAM available during and shortly thereafter a booting process is complete. It's like tweaking the allocated resources that "HTC Sense" used each time it booted up.
Awesome find. looking forward to what will be unconvered
I have a few friends skimming the registry keys day n' night as well... it's just very, very exhausting to read thousands of lines of coding.
I doubt I'll be updating the OP with tons of additions, but I'll certainly add to it, should something reasonably decent come to my attention.
I would like to add something that also seems interesting
HKLM/System/Autoupdate: 0 <-- I wonder what 1 does.. I just set to 1, will update as i hopefully receive updates
PS: I'm not sure if its this that caused this, but my phone just locks on slide to unlock.. As soon as i try unlocking the screen turns off.

Bump.
Anyone found any interesting tidbits as of yet?
hklm/hardware/setting/touchpanel/hwmode=1
pls feedback if it helps you.
my HWMode value is 212 lol.. xD
try value 380 and restart your phone. then swipe the slider icon from left to right in very fast motion.
then try value 1 and restart phone. do the same thing, swipe the slider from left to right and notice the different.
value 1 can also prevent accidental lauching of quick link programs then swiping home page up / down.
this can also allow you to type faster and get the full words. (try "hehe" / "haha")
if you try both value 380 or any large value and value 1, you'll notice the difference, concluding that large value makes the screen response more retarded. value 1, being the smallest is the fastest / most responsive.
the bsbtweaks sensitivity tweak sets this key to 201, personally i like it up around 250.
using this now.. lets see.. i already like the response, lets see if it really helps
I originally posted this in an existing thread, and considering other users reporting it actually helps, I figured I'd start a new thread specific for this.
I want to share what I found, considering it has helped a bit with the issue. The missed taps and all still happen, just not as often before I made these changes.
WARNING, do not adjust values that you are unsure of. Setting any of the following values lower than default will cause touchscreen issues.
You will need root
I downloaded Kernel Adiutor from the Play Store (link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....kerneladiutor), and changed a couple values pertaining to the CPU. Here's what I did and how you can try it out too:
1. Open the app, open the hamburger menu and select "CPU".
2. Scroll down until you get to the "CPU Boost" category.
3. There are two values you're going to change here.
A. Input Interval: Default is 40ms, I changed mine to 150ms
B. Input Boost Frequency Core 1: Default is 1248MHz, I changed mine to 1440MHz
4. Be sure that "Apply on boot" is checked at the very top of the screen.
Another user reported that changing "Interval" to 150ms and "Sync threshold" to 1440MHz help more as well. You can use these values as well at your own risk.
And, obviously, if you change anything else and your phone goes haywire, its your fault. Know what you're changing before you go and change it.
For those here who know a little bit more about these values, and others surrounding the CPU itself, I'd recommend messing with these settings to find a perfect level to wash out any touch issues for the time being.
--Update 9/7--
With more changes that I've made, I found that leaving the value for "Input Boost Core Frequency 1" at the default of 1248MHz has the same effect as changing the value. So I would suggest not changing it since that doesn't help with the issue.
What I did find that helped a little more is the "Input Interval" value being set to 200ms is slightly better than the previous 150ms value.
Here's what I have set now:
Under CPU Boost:
1. "Interval" = 200ms
2. "Sync Threshold" = disabled
3. "Input Interval" = 200ms
4. "Input Boost Frequency Core 1" = 1248MHz
I made these changes(1-4) and it made a significant difference. Thanks.
Something to add... @shbang had mention something along the lines of lowering entropy. Any dev know if it's possible or recommended with kernel auditor?
Just did this and phone seems more responsive. Will report back later. Thanks!
Does increasing the boost frequency to 1440 mhz have any adverse effect on battery drain?
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
I've been using this for a couple days so far, and I wanna say that it has impacted slightly but I'm still unsure. For right now, I'm gonna give it another couple days and see.
Changing the input boost frequency value won't stick for me. It changes back immediately.
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
Wow, this is fantastic. Thanks.
Doesn't really affect my battery life. Maybe a couple %. Tough to tell though.
A little (?) offtopic, but i also made some governor tweaks and also extended them by making a cpu hotplugging script.
Using these - i have nice responsive phone with some battery saving profile.
Try:

If "Apply on boot" doesn't stick
I had an issue getting apply on boot to stick, but I believe I found a solution.
1. Follow all steps in the first post, in order.
2. Install CPU tuner (Rooted phones) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.amana.android.cputuner
3. Tap the icon that looks like a picnic basket with a black sqaure in front. (At the top)
4. Choose Power User, hit save.
5. If you get a message that says no usable configuration, tap load, otherwise tap the wrench.
6. Scroll down System Configurations, select extreme, or if you choose another, if you'd like. (Haven't tried the others)
7. Let the app load configuration. Then uninstall (or not)
8. Reboot
Hopefully this helps, it seems to add a bit more responsiveness for me. I only uninstalled cause it runs a service in the background, and the changes made stick on apply on boot, as long as you don't re-open Kernel Adiutor before you reboot. Weird way but it works for me, don't know what CPU tuner does to get it working.
So after you made the changes and rebooted you were able to delete the app and the settings stuck?
I received an OTA for PLK-UL00C675B320, which is Android 6.0 marshmallow and EMUI 4.0. My comments inline in Italics
The changelog as per the update is here -
[New Year Theme]
- New Year Theme added
[Multi Window]
- Supports Multi Window
[SOS Feature]
- SOS feature added (it was there in B170 as well)
- Can send SOS messages (my advice is to turn it off for regular usage, it can send spurious SOS messages)
[Application Compass]
- A compass (that is really slick)
[Alarm Ring Tone duration]
- Can combine different sounds for a really long alarm
[Screen Recording]
- Screen Recording
[Join Contacts Feature]
- Join different contacts (was there in B170 as well)
[Intelligent Contacts]
- Group Contacts by Company name
[Message Cancel within 4 seconds]
- Cancel a message within 4 seconds (basically adds a 4 second delay, works only with the default Messaging app)
[Soft lock]
- Adds a button for screen lock along with Back, Home and Task Manager
[Some Known Issues] - The update says so, but these are not issues per se
- Applications like Native browser, magnifier, UC browser and Screen lock App removed
- Voice search removed (no more Dear Honor or Hello Emy)
- Honor ROM icon changed to Honor Club
- AM / PM will not be shown in Clock on the Lock Screen (Biggest issue of this update, especially for travelers)
- Battery setting removed from Settings (but the % remaining display can be enabled from "notification panel and Status bar" settings)
[Pre-upgrade considerations]
- 1.13 GB large
- Charge should be more than 50 %
- During downloading the upgrage package, phone remains functional (so enjoy those missing apps one last time)
- This version can roll back. Please refer Rollback guidelines available with the release. Roll back will clear User Data, so backup is recommended (I did not find any roll back guidelines anywhere)
MY OBSERVATIONS ON CHANGES
- Been using it for 6 hours now
- Biggest issue seems to be that the option for FAST CHARGING is no longer to be found. The phone does seem to fast charge though, so no option to turn off Fast charging
- Settings are organized now in groups
- Still no Screen Pinning
- Scheduled Shutdown and Start option present
- A few apps like Virtua tennis still don't dance along
- RAM usage has increased. From having about 1.8 GB free in Idle state with no apps running, I now have 1.2 GB.
- Right after Cold start, On lollipop, I used to have 2 GB RAM free, now I have 1.5 GB RAM free.
- So 500 MB to 600 MB RAM is used more here.
- Contacts now open in full screen, rather than a smaller window as in Lollipop
- Pro Camera is now called Professional
- All Other features the same
- Good Food mode is now moved to Settings and Time Lapse takes its place on the main screen
- Everything else in the Camera app seems to remain the same
- Some new cool wallpapers (there is a shark one)
- Icons now have a rounded rectangular box around them and are transparent In lollipop they were filled with a random color)
- Some App icons still have random color fill (like whatsapp) but some like Air Droid just have a transparent rectangle. Some, like Uber, still have the corner of their icons truncated
- I think it freed about 300 MB from Internal Storage (I am not sure)
I tried Google Now on tap but it did not work. All I got was "No cards now". I have turned it on in Settings.
- Icons for missed calls have changed and the notification panel now shows how long the phone rang.
- App permissions that PM Plus granted are missing. In its place is google's own app permissions. It does the same thing but while app permissions on Lollipop offered a central view, now one has to go to every app to find out their permissions and change them. There is no place where, say, I can see how many apps have access to Contacts.
- Too early to say battery life is affected but it does seem to be slightly better.
- I could not find Doze settings anywhere
- One can now create rules for Donot Disturb mode.
- Phone seems slightly faster
- There are more transition effects now
I have registered and still not received the update
I have got OTA on 7th Jan,
1.Battery seems to be same as previous version.
2.no doze mode
3.no Google now on tap
4.battery usage is hidden inside battery manager..more complicated
5.No USB mass storage option.. only files and photos option for USB
6.Animation looks nice
7.No major change in UI
8.Smart controller have new Tv shows option..but all are in Chinese...no use
9.Multiwindow option (like Samsung have) works only with selected apps
10.Recent Apps view changed to single app per page.. New compass app
12.Camera Quality seems to be improved

What would you mean by No USB Mass Storage option ? Only photos and files ? If you mean that apps cannot now be moved there, that is not completely true. I tried to move accupedo app (10 MB) and it worked fine. But then I tried to move angry Birds 2 (119 MB), it said not enough space on memory card, which is untrue because my memory card has above 25 GB free.

Issues that I am facing
I found couple of issues that I think are bugs:
1. There is pop-up that is shown whenever I try to use any of voice recording apps like 'Video Recorder', 'Screen Recorder' etc. This seems to left over from the developer. Very annoying when doing screen recording.
2. No option to choose the Data Cycle ( 'From' and 'To' dates) when setting 'Traffic Reminder Settings' under 'Data traffic management'.
Anybody else experiencing same issues??

Issues I found:
Smart assistance, voice control doesn't work properly. It pops up automatically hearing voice. Cannot make call most of the time.

Unable to understand mirrorshare
No release note for rollback from android M
@gdeepak
Mirrorshare is to be used on smart TVs to share your mobile screen on your TV.
For some time I compared different roms for Redmi 4x. I summarized basic options in the table and sent to the developers.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet..._q-erkzYRjm2PRzNjwmNyNTPE/edit#gid=1328689442
As:
- there was no interest in errors and there was no effective response as to any corrections
- it is impossible for a single person or a 2-3 person group to createstable rom
- the number of reported errors and thus the possibility of making corrections is strictly dependent on the number of testers, which of course depends on the population rom brands
- a lot of roms have single editions, without any later updates, including we are wasting time testing what is not allowed to work properly
I decided to go back to the most popular LoS rom because:
- is constantly updated
- the system only downloads about 1 GB RAM!
- the installation file is only about 550 MB
- no need to install Gapps
- the system is not overloaded with unnecessary overhead settings and applications
BUT, there is a lack of basic settings / features, maybe they have been forgotten:
- dark background of text messages and call log for dark mode
- camera with 50% cut menu
- it is not possible to add 8 or 9 icons of the desired settings to the top bar, shortcut bar in one line ... the maximum current quantity is only 6 (almost all other roms can personalize the appearance of the bar)
- no built-in number blocking option: not in contacts; reserved; from phone booths: unknown
- no parameters during charging, even current; sometimes fast charging does not activate and we are not aware of it, and tel when we care still charging in standard mode; if there was such information we could disconnect and reconnect the charger which often solves problem.
- options in the gallery: editing, sharing, deleting after viewing the photo could be placed more ergonomically in one place, e.g. under existing in the upper right corner drop-down menu with "three dots" and that same without obscuring the image itself (I think AOSPextended has it)
- default icons: camera; browsers, sound / screen recorders are not clear
- small date and watch with seconds on the upper beam
- list of connections as in older versions of android with a specific date and time, not in the type "3 days ago"
What do you think about it I suspect that the above functionalities are also not present in LoS for other devices, but they would rather be useful. Perhaps some of them will be restored in LoS 17.
I put this case also into reddit LoS group:
https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/g2frm0/lineageos_16_and_maybe_17_no_basic_settings/
