I am using the P9 Lite VNS-L21 version (B160). I don't know much about rooting and flashing and all that, but i would like to ask if it is safe to install the b336 version on my phone? Will i be able to normaly update to the official version of Nougat after it comes out? Do i need to be rooted for firmware finder to work?

You should wait for OTA. Is a complicated process and it doesn t worth. Nougat has some really battery drain. In my opinion you should wait for official OTA. But if you want to risk...it s your problem.

I downgraded multiple times with no problem
I think that the J500H is the only variant with a locked bootloader
Sent from my Galaxy Tab A 10.1 using XDA Labs
Downgrading is easy.

Looks like xiaomi pushed it just for the sake of releasing before the year ends.

Its pretty stable and 100% better than Nougat. Do a factory reset always upgrading to Major Android versions...

You do have to download the official ROM from Xiaomi website, then use the Mi Flash tool to flash it.
Just download the rom from few topics here of the latest Nougat, backup your data, go to the MiFlash tool and flash the nougat rom, but remember, do not flash flash_factory.bat.

I've seen a lot of posts and discussion on how to upgrade from Exynos, but I have a T-Mobile G950U. I am on build ZQKS. How do I go about upgrading?

Flash BQL1 firmware, then flash CRB2 from Samsung.firmware.science
Download the update.zip to your sd card, boot to recovery, flash from there. The latest is CRB3 but battery drain is terrible, but these are the latest Oreo builds for our device

I'm reading currently that Oreo final has not been rolled out in US yet. Should I wait until it is and then follow the same instructions to update to it?

It "should" be out by the end of this month, you can if you want. But it'll be OTA when it's final. So if you're on Verizon BQL1 you'll get a system update and it'll do it like that, there won't be any need to use recovery or that website.
It's up to you though, I've been running Oreo for the last month and it's been pretty good so far, SOT is around 6 hours and performance is great. Substratum just sucks is all.
