I`ve bought Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S and it`s locked for 3UK. I can`t get bootloader unlocked to modding my phone. Is there any way to unlock my bootloader?? Omnius doesn`t work or maybe i`ve done that wrong, so can anybody write a guide hot to mod Xperia Arc S with locked bootloader and fastboot not enabled?
Some guys here do remote unlocking, they'll help you for sure

Contact Allejandrissimo and Jinx13.
I'm in same situation, jinx13 has yet to reply but busy time of year. There must be some other method to enable fastboot.
Would contacting ThreeUK and asking them to unlock your bootloader work?
Just a thought.

Hi people I didn't know whether to post this in the android development forum so I posted it her.
Soooooooo.......... For people that are confused when they dial in *#*#7378423#*#* and they find out that it says boot loader unlock allowed:no.
I am just going to clarify a few things. Don't worry its not the end of the world you can still unlock your bootloader. thats the good news. The bad news is that it will require you to pay some money. You are probably having this problem because:
a) Your phone is sim locked
b) You are using the R800at or R800X if so then get out of this forum!!!!!!!!
So to solve this problem you will have to sim unlock your xperia play although, you MUST use a software that uses the phone's testpoint to sim unlock the phone e.g. Omnius any other unlocking method used that does not use the phone's testpoint will NOT work.
Once you have done that taaa daaaa!!!! now when you go into the service menu it should say bootloader unlock allowed.
Although your not done yet, now you will have to unlock your bootloader this is FREE to do in fact sony ericcson offers the instructions how to do it themselves. Here is the link to the instructions:
unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions
Since i'm a new member xda not letting me put in any hyperlinked links.
Make sure you know the risks of unlocking it!!!!! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!
Last time i looked sim unlock does not unlock fastboot

No i'm just saying this because the requirements to unlock the bootloader on the se website says make sure it says boot loader unlock allowed: yes
I haven't tried using fastboot or anything this was just for people that were stuck here in unlocking their boot loader i was just sharing that it changes to yes when you take off the sim lock and i know it is possible to unlcok the bootloader of it even though it says its not the steps i have given does unlock the bootloader as i myself have tested it on my friend's o2 locked phone.
On my phone it says
Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlocked allowed: Yes
so do i have to pay money to unlock it or what?
I'd like to try and root it.
My phone was originally locked to O2, I got it sim unlocked from them and i still have bootloader unlock allowed:no ...
You have to do TEST POINT METHOD!
This Unlockes your Sim lock i think as well as fastboot which you need to unlock,
sim locked phones are branded and have Blocked Fastboot with a Unknown Patch the Bypass is test point method however you Must Not ever Update VIA PC companion or OTA Doing so = a brick.
If you want to pay up the money go to Aljendrissimo he has proven 12,000+ people with SE phones Bootloader Unlocked with OTA fix ans Pc companion which means you can have the ICS update but its got the sony suite

If it says bootloader unlock allowed:yes then you don't need to pay to unlock your bootloader just go to the link I put up and follow the instructions.
Also,on the other comments yes this does indeed has to be done through test point method which is very easy many sites do this, I used cellunlocker.net's se unlocking software to unlock mine. I also checked yes by doing the testpoint method it also, gives you the option to unlock the bootloader I do recommend omnius because you can by a android unlock liscense for just 10 pounds but to clarify you DO need your sim unlock to be done through test point so you can be able to unlock the bootloader

Please amend this in your first post as it is incorrect and very misleading to others.
Sure will change it now

What would be nice to know is how to unlock fastboot if your already sim unlocked.
I can understand paying for simunlock but paying for a fastboot unlock while i am already sim unlock would be double dipping.

Yeah I agree I think it possible and is something what the testpoint method does for us if someone could break down exacty what it does I think the developers might be able to find something

It has been broken down for you on the first page, if you do use the test point method then you can't do OTA updates which means, you can't officially update your play when offical updates come out but it's not all bad as you will be able to flash the offical update with a FTF with the flash tool. It is recommended to use the test point method.

No I don't think that is true because you cannot do OTA updates only if you have a locked boot loader i'm not sure where you got your info from mate but i'm pretty sure all the test point method does is sim unlock your phone and does something to make the bootloader unlock possible and that is what I m trying to find out- what it does to make the bootloader show yes .
I have confirmed with various trusted sources if you are still able to update even if you are sim unlocked with test point and they are saying yeah only if you haven't unlocked the bootloader.

I don't think that's going to work for Verizon phones. From my experience with other Moto phones, you have to request a bootloader unlock code from Motorola which will be denied because Verizon does not allow it
Just bought a VZW variant which was supposed to be unlocked. Unfortunately it clearly isn't. FIne, so i gotta do some work. Not a big deal, but I have no oem unlock option and none of the solutions I've found online seem to work. Sunshine also doesn't work. My goal is to s-off, unlock bootloader, sim unlock and hopefully get a stock unlocked ROM that will accept OTAs. The issue I'm having now, is that I simply can't start any of this process without being able to unlock the bootloader. Does anyone have a solution? I'd really love a bit of help here.

That's really annoying but hey, is what it is. Thanks for your help.
Please help me. I had already once relocked my bootloader can I able to unlock again? Please help me and I still have that unique key which Motorola had provided me when I first unlocked the bootloader
Yes, you can unlock/relock your device multiple times. I'm not sure if it's the same unlock code, because I allways ordered a new from Motorola.
