Hey guys,
I've replaced my touchscreen with lcd a few days ago, and I'm experiencig the following problem in the video. It only happens when a sim card is inserted, and when it uses the network (for ex. calls, or call forwarding). Any idea what could be wrong?

hi Guys,
As far as I am aware this new problem has only happened to me so far.
I bought a new T-mobile MDA Vario II back in September, It had a HTC634 Serial number and I duly checked it for the Screen and keyboard issues that have affected other Hermes models - the phone didn't display these issues at all.
However last Friday the phone developed an unusual problem - It would connect to a 3G signal with no problems at all, but when there was no 3G signal it would not connect to the normal 2G signal. It would just search for a signal and not find a T-mobile 2G signal!
The settings on the phone were as they were when I got the phone (set on Auto in both boxes for phone settings)
I initally thought that it might be a transmitter problem in my area, so I emailed T-mobile, they replied back saying that no problems had been reported. I soft-reset the phone several times and fiddled about with the phone settings, tried the phone without the memory card, but still it did not solve the problem.
I took the 3G SIM which came with the phone and placed it in another phone (Xda Exec), which found both the 2G and 3G signals without any problems at all - so it was not the SIM card. I could not try a different operators SIM in the Vario II since its network locked.
As a last resort I decided to do a Hard-reset, which reset every thing back on the phone to how it was when it was new - This DID NOT solve the problem!
Tuesday night I phoned T-mobile up (tip: If you want to be put through to a human directly and quickly on T-mobile Customer Services, then when the robot starts speaking immediately press 000000 - it puts you straight through and your call should be picked up a lot quicker (<5mins) than using the other options.
I explained my problem, they did an IMEI check and after half a hour on the phone (mostly on hold) they concluded that it was a phone problem and aggreed to exchange the handset (as a handset swap - no battery, box etc)
by courier this Monday.
I just hope I don't gain a few other problems with the exchange handset!
Hi I own a Cingular 8125 (Wizard), yesterday I did a soft reset because the phone was too slow (it wasn't turned off for about 4 weeks without restarting). When it launched it ask for my phone pasword, then for my sim PIN and took them without problems but it launched without connecting to my provider signal. Everything on the phone is working fine (WiFi-Bluetooth-PC Sync, etc...) but it keeps searching for signal.
I tried 3 different sim cards and the result was the same, then I test my sim on a friends phone and it worked fine.
The only thing I did to the phone a few weeks ago was try to use a dual sim ghost that didn't worked (it show the dual sim menu and worked fine with line 1 but when I tried to switch to line 2 it happenned just the same that is happenning now with just my sim inside, it kept looking for signal)
I did a complete reset and nothing.. happened the same, then I upgrade it's ROM to the one cingular has on it's website (http://www.america.htc.com/support/8125/software-downloads.html) it was the same one installed but it did the upgrade process anyway and NOTHING!!!
Does anyone have an idea of what could be happenning and what can I do to fix it?? I don't want to have a PDA phone just as a PDA and not phone. THanks.
I recently damaged and then repaired my G2's screen. Since repairing and reassembling the phone my data has not been working, although I can make calls, receive texts and use wifi just fine. Is there a specific component which could have been damaged or perhaps not locked back in properly?
I've already went to my service provider, Wind Canada, to replace the sim card, that didn't fix the problem either. Any help would be appreciated! Not having data defeats the purpose of having a smartphone.
Hi, I recently bought a new Yotaphone2 (YD206) taking advantatge of the Singles' day discounts, but I am having some trouble connecting to the mobile network.
Since I did not have a nanosim available from the beggining, I started by updating its ROM (I used the last Russian one, while keeping the Chinese radio) and then I rooted it. So far so good.
The thing is, after my microsim was cut into a nanosim (the guy at the mobile phone store did it, using one of these "staplers"), I inserted it in the tray but it is not recognized on the phone. On the screen you can read "No sim card - emergency calls only".
At first I thought it was the radio, and I even flashed it again. I also went back to the original chinese rom, with no success. I think it's not a radio problem, since I can get some statistics in the *#*#4636#*#* menu, but I am not a 100% certain. Of course, I've already tried rebooting, setting the airplane mode on and off, removing and inserting the sim again, etc. Apart from that, wifi, bluetooth and everything else work as expected.
The sim card works, because using a microsim adapter I can fit it in my Nexus 4 and it gets signal. There are three options here: either the radio is not properly configured/flashed, the phone is faulty or the sim has been wrongly cut.
Could you help me troubleshoot the problem?
Solved!
Solved! It was the sim card, it was not properly cut. I used some sandpaper so sand one edge that was a bit rough. I didn't even have to reboot, the phone asked for my pin inmediately. I'm using the last EU rom with the chinese radio.
Yay! Happy!
I have the same issue now and my yotaphone 2 was bought in China... I've tried the sim cards from two companies, both didn't work. I doubt I received a defective product.
I am using a Samsung S4 GT-i9505. I'm on MOBITEL (Slovenia) or as it is now called Telemach.
So my issue is the following:
Everytime i try to use any network mode other than (GSM only) my connection becomes Emergency calls only.
Issue started appearing after nearly 1.5 years of usage.
I occasionally get a Sim card Removed message, this issue was frequent after 1.5 years than it somehow stopped (nearly).
I checked my IMEI CERTI says NA. Though my IMEI is the same as the one on the box of my phone.
Thing that happend/I did:
My LCD screen got replaced, before that there was no issue.
Replaced sim card, replaced Sim tray (after the issue started reappearing), sometimes (on really rare occasions) 4G somehow works.
*I did have root on my phone
Multiple firmwares, currently a stock one from sammobile (5.0.1):
- AP_I9505XXUHOA7_CL3996895_QB3867680_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
- BL_I9505XXUHOA7_CL3996895_QB3867680_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
- CP_I9505XXUHOA7_CL3996895_QB3867680_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
- CSC_OXA_I9505OXAHOA7_CL3996895_QB3867680_REV06_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar
All installed using Odin3 (v3.12.3)
Later I installed:
- GSM_Modem_I9505XXUHOE2_and_LTE_Modem_I9505XXUHOE2 which did not help either.
Thank you for your help.
If software doesn't resolve your issue, the only thing left is hardware. In your case, I don't believe the SIM card tray is the issue here, but the motherboard.
Have someone look at the device.
