Hello, it's the second time in very short period (let's say 3 weeks) that i get this terrible issue : upon reboot, i'm asked for my pattern to decrypt/boot/access data and it fails. So it's like something has changed it. I'm trying to look for a fix instead of wiping all again cause if it happened twice, it'll probably happened trice and even more.. But so far didn't find anything. So i'm now asking for your help, eventually looking for people who had the same issue! I was using TWRP RedWolf recovery. I of course tried to switch to basic TWRP (multiple versions) but no change..
I'm not sure whether this'll help but remove any security pattern on the current rom before flashing new rom. Also make sure or try to keep the status under 'Encryption and credentials' under security in current rom as decryted.
Sorry but i do not get the point here..

(Bug Help Request) MIUI - Shiro - Inconsistent "No Service->Service->No Service" Bug
Hello all! Hoping to find some help for the problem which I have been dealing with for the last month and a bit or so.
I have a 1337m (Canadian/Bell SGS4) which I have flashed with the i9505 MIUI rom as they have the same specs and can be used more or less interchangeably, or so I have been advised over the past year or so.
Anyways, I had recently updated my MIUI version with one of the latest ones, "miui_i9505_shiro_5.9.4_17da645643_4.4", and then have also recently updated it with no problems to MIUI 7 (5.10.2 Beta).
The whole time though with this rom I have been dealing with having "No service" come up quite often, and then bouncing between getting mobile data and then going back to "No Service" for absolutely no reason (With other roms I have been getting constant Mobile Data connections on the same routes so I know it isn't an issue with my phone's hardware or data connection, and it must be the ROM). I have also searched around a bunch for this bug and have come across some threads mentioning the same problem, and people had mentioned that when the recovery was changed, or a certain kernel was changed, this " 'No Service' appearing when service is actually there, however locking out applications from said data connection" bug is fixed, however I don't claim to know the most about more advanced things like swapping kernels, or changing recoveries, etc. I have also heard that people were talking about how all of Shiro's ROMs for the i9505/SGS4 seem to have this problem, so hopefully I am not alone with this. Also, my APN settings are not grayed out if that happens to have anything to do with the whole thing and something can just be quickly changed there to fix it? (Sorry, I have no idea what the true problem with this issue is).
I am just a little worried that at some point in time when I really need to make a call or use the net and I can't at that exact time due to this bug that it may really complicate things... therefore I am hoping to get a hand with fixing it and understanding how I can monitor and fix this for any future issues as well.
Hopefully I can get a hand with this from you guys! It would be much appreciated!
TL;DR: MIUI Shiro i9505 Rom user with "No Service" bug looking for help on how to fix it; have heard that it is indeed a common problem with Shiro Roms, and also that it may be kernel or recovery related? Also, my APN settings are not grayed out if that happens to have anything to do with it and something can just be quickly changed there?
Thanks in advanced for any help, guys!

First of all, thanks for the quick reply!
I believe I tried with one .zip package and it wasn't flashing properly from within CWRM... I even placed it on my internal as I heard a lot of people recommending.
Any chance you might be able to direct me to the correct build/package I should be trying to flash, and also a few quick steps on how to go about flashing it? If it's just "update from .zip" in CWRM I'm alright, but if there's more too it I would appreciate any extra help! Also, it's just flashing the recovery so there shouldn't be any changes to data on my phone, (applications, etc.), meaning no need to full wipe.... correct?
I'm guessing I should be following the "Method #2 for rooted phones with CWM/TWRP Recovery" section in this thread which talks about flashing philz for the SGS4? Am I right in assuming that since I am running MIUI and have Clockwork Recovery pop up when I go into recovery mode, this would be the right one?
Sorry for all the noob questions... I just want to make sure I am doing the right things here.
Looking forward to your reply!
Just a quick update of where I'm at:
I have the latest version of Philz on my external, and have attempted to boot into recovery and install the .zip from my external sd, but I get the following error message string in CWM:
Code:
Flashing Recovery
assert failed: run_program("/tmp/loki.sh") == 0
E: Error in /external_sd/Roms/philz_touch_6.59.0-jflte.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.
Looking for a hand! I'll try to flash it from internal storage also just in case that happens to work.
Update #2:
Just flashed with Odin as attempting to install from .zip on the internal brought up the same error message.
Everything seems to be working alright now!
Hopefully this thread / my replies can help out anyone else in a similar situation!
Hey guys (and girls),
I've got a strange problem with my phone.
Almost every time I have to shut it down it won't turn on again.
I can try everything like going in recovery or download mode, just nothing happens.
I installed JDC optimized cm 12.1 on the phone but the problem appeared after a failed factory reset in stock rom without anything flashed.
It helps when I remove the battery for a longer time, like an hour or so.
I installed a new bootloader and modem, I flashed a pit file but nothing helped. Flashing works without problem, once it turns on.
Generally the phone runs smooth and without any bugs or errors.
Could it be an hardware failure or is it a software thing?
Thanks in advance for any help! If you need more informations just ask. It's a i9505 by the way
It appears to be a software problem. If it is a hardware problem you would get the problem regardless of the rom that you flahsed.
Install the stock rom via odin and wait and see for two weeks whether the problem comes back or not. If the problem comes back then you might have a hardware problem.
I have the same problem. In another forum someone told me to be something relative to the power button but I've not tested that at the moment

I have actually no problems once the phone startet, everything works fine.
It has had the problem first with stock rom, then i flashed JDC optimized Cyanogen and it was still present.
Then i thought it could be some problem with the Memory and i flashed a PIT, but that didn't change a thing.
Right now i'm without phone since 15 o'clock, its 00.15 now. That really ****s me up!
I used Le Max 2 for 1 year with factory ROM 19s without problem. After that I flash Slim7 ROM. After 1 month, fingerprint is dead.
Confirmed flashing ROM causing 95% death of fingerprint sensor.
No death of fingerprint ! Is a software issue i have posted one solution for this issue in the stock rom post
I have flashed loads of different custom ROMs, the only issue I had was a slow sensor on Pixel Experience.
It's highly improbable that a custom ROM breaks the fingerprint sensor hardware, it's probably a software issue.
Try to flash another custom ROM, or revert to official EUI builds. If all else fails, do a QFIL flash (this wipes everything though, so backup your stuff before doing that kind of thing).
The first thing you have to do before any flash, is update the firmware, not the rom, and then flash any rom you want to.
Custom rom never break any part of hardware, only if its a bug and its not working yet.
so 95% of finger print problem, is user related, not rom.
it is no a hardware problem ! mine is dead after one week , after 2 month it s ok , i have installed cuoco and now figerprint is dead but if the fingerprint can take a foto it s a software issue , now i must wait a long time for this issue and the fingerprint was alive , you can try this method :

I have the same with stock rom pedrazamarcos, how do you install that modem. My fingerprint stop working
Just want to share as it's as crazy as it might sound. My Le Max 2 x829 fingerprint miraculously came back from the dead after using the phone for the past 3 years without it. It stopped working since the 4th day after using for the first time back in 2016.
At that time, I searched these forums for solutions as it would be troublesome to ask for refund by returning the phone to China (Gearbest). I ended up using Small Eui Rom since then, but still the fingerprint didn't work. I just thought it was a hardware defect and didn't bother to install different kind of roms to revive it as the results posted here by members were inconsistent.
Then now, when I was about to retire this phone, I looked for some PIE Roms here to try new features of the Android 9.0 as the Small Eui Rom was just stuck at Marshmallow.
I upgraded my TWRP to the latest version for this phone and decided to install Revenge OS Pasta 2.5 Official Rom. I followed their instructions to flash from TWRP and added the 26S zip modem file in the process. Everything went smoothly, and I liked the rom very much and it worked fantastic, even the IR blaster worked flawlessly with the remote app from this rom. But, still no sign of fingerprint revival at that time.
Then, I searched these forums again if there's an updated solution for this old problem. I found a thread mentioned using 446D modem file and suggested that the phone should not be rebooted after installation, but instead shut it down. So, I followed the step and wait for few minutes before turning on the phone again. To my disappointment, it didn't work. The fingerprint was still dead. I didn't install any apps other then ones included in the rom and i didn't even register my Google account.
So, I just turned it off again and charged it overnight. The following evening I decided to turn on the phone again to try adding finger again, and to my surprise, the fingerprint sensor vibrated again for the first time in 3 years! Unfortunately, it failed to register a finger before time out as it could only vibrate 2 times in a row. I rebooted the phone again a few times, but it went silent again as nothing happens when trying to add a finger.
I just shut it down again and left on my desk without charging as the battery still around 76% after a few reboot attempts.
I left it for about 3 days without touching it, until one evening I decided to turn it on again. To my big survive, the long thought dead fingerprint sensor miraculously came back to life! At first, it worked sluggishly as it took a long time to register a finger, but at least it could complete the process for a finger. Fortunately, it performed better for the subsequent 2 fingers. On the 4th finger added, the registration process went smoothly!
However, after the finger registration process were done, the unlocking process were inconsistent as it sometimes worked, but failed most of the time. So, I just turned it off again.
The next day, after turning the phone on and waited a few minutes before using the scanner, the unlocking process were much better as it read faster and faster. And now, it just worked again like it never died! Yes there were still some time it was unresponsive, but it unlocked quite fast when it worked.
Maybe my experience could be useful for anyone who wants to try. I just overwhelmed this could happen!
I don't know what is wrong with my phone, I've searched the web for answers only to find nothing, I've asked in other threads and got no answers, I need help. So basically my issue is Magisk on my Mi A1 this issue happens with both 16.0 and 16.4, on the stock Mi A1 rom occasionally when I reboot my baseband and IMEI is unknown and when I reboot it fixes it's self temporarily I know this is not an issue with EFS partition as when I uninstall Magisk everything is fine and on custom ROMs I don't get this issue but a whole other different one. Also on the stock ROM Magisk causes bootloops sometimes which is fixed by rebooting.
When I use Magisk on a custom ROM I get a different issue, whenever I use Magisk to do anything on my device it causes an issue where sometimes when I power off my device it shows the boot animation before powering off.
I'm really sick and tired of these issues and any help would be really appreciated.
I have the same issue with the no imei/baseband in stockrom with magisk
created a thread like you asking for a solution, got not answers, not sure if is because not enough people mod this device or is something else
I for once as soon as I got it, unlocked bootloader and installed magisk and xposed, everything else is stock
issue still persist, you need to reboot again for imei/baseband to comeback

I'm currently running a custom rom and I've discovered that the issue I'm facing there has nothing to do with Magisk, its when I open an app like Titanium backup, even unrooted the app want root permissions causes the boot animation at power off, anyway I'll make a logcat when I get chance.
Hi!
Recently i bought a new phone, and i wanted to factory reset my old mi note 2 and flash new Rom on it. I downloaded last pixel experience and installed it via TWRP, but i had to do sth wrong, because since then it randomly shuts down or restarts. Whats interesting is that it happens only when phone is locked and nobody uses it. I tried to flash miui ( TWRP and miflash) but it didnt help. I suppose that i May have done sth wrong because my sensors were also not responding and i had to install persist.img to make them work. Does anyone know what can i do with that problem?

Hi I had a similar problem with my Mi Note 2 and the only solution that worked for me was to flash the original Global ROM.

I ve Tried oficial global and it still occurs, i think it have something to do with deep sleep, because it restarts like a minute after i lock the screen, it doesnt happen when phone is connected to pc or charger, and it occurs also in safe mode.
EDIT
Random restarts seem to stop on china rom, but i would like to have polish language, is there any option for that?
