What is system image?
When I open the backup menu I get an option I've never seen before in other phones called "system image".
Could someone please explain to me what it contains? And is there a need to back this up?
How to flash ?

Can someone confirm this as working?
Should i rather wait for official twrp?
I have had old phones quite a while now and being a bit causious because i usually don´t spend 300€ to a phone.

hey, so i just flashed this TWRP recovery and i managed to boot into TWRP recovery. But, whenever i click the 'Reboot' option or 'Power Off' option, the TWRP just stays right there and it won't even reboot or power off. I have to hold down the power button to turn off the phone and power it back. Any ideas why this is happening and anything that i've done wrong in the process?

Its a Bug, i guess same is happening with everyone. We just have to wait for official TWRP. and also
Bug Till NoW
Extra Option Named System partition Under Backup, Which has no Function and Doesn't Work.
Cant reboot/power off from recovery as it just freezes the recovery.
OTG doesn't work in Recovery.
TWRP gets replaced with Stock recovery after each Boot.

If you use the flash all script. Otherwise you can pick and choose what images you want to use.
I read that you can use the flash-all script without it deleting all your data. Just open the script with a text editor and remove "-w" from the last line. I personally did NOT do that, its just something I've read here on XDA. I followed Heisenberg's guide, step 10, to a T and everything went well. Remember you will have to reflash recovery and SuperSU again if you want those back.
I'm trying to root my Sprint LTE Samsung Galaxy TAB A 10.1. The current firmware is MM which is on the February 1st, 2017 security patch. I'm really trying to adopt my 128GB SD card as internal storage. I tried the ADB methods, but it didn't work. Maybe it has something to do with the newer security patches? If so, where might I be able to download the earlier firmwares and downgrade? I'm really swamped here... If someone could help me out with this I'd be extremely grateful!
Thanks!

Maybe I could flash it with Odin? Is there a way to do that? I tried changing the file extension to ".img.tar" but when I hit start it's not doing anything, lol. When I tried changing the extension to ".tar.md5" it gives me an error. I really need to flash this without root or recovery, because I can't find neither for my device, which is the T587P.
Thanks for your help.

You can't flash it with odin, it has to be custom recovery.
The T580/T585 twrp recovery should work for your device.

Ah I tried that, but whenever I booted into recovery mode, it had the blue text at the top left, along with text that you would see on the bootloader mode, with the android 6.0 boot logo in the background. It just freezes there and doesn't do anything :^)

There is a version of twrp for the T587p posted in the development forum.
Hey buddy. Sorry for all the bad advice you have gotten here. Custom recoveries for other tab a variants do not work on the sm-t587p, and neither do the roots.
The current firmware is not Marshmallow as you said. Nougat 7.0 came out for the SM-T587P last September. (August 1, 2017 Security Patch)
I can help you further from this thread, but everything you need is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-sprint-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-t3669559
Just bought a 7x off swappa for my wife and it has the bootloader unlocked but not rooted, with TWRP as recovery and it still has the November(b101) update so it hasn't been updated. What would be the best way to update it to the latest firmware as I don't want to brick it since I can't find any fix, it's model Bnd-L24.... Any help would be most welcome thanks all

It's really simple. If you flashed TWRP to your phone via the fastboot method, it's almost the same procedure to get it back. You just need to get the recovery images for the Honor 7x (since there's none available for the Mate SE. They're pretty much identical, though).

When you get to the step where it has you flash the recovery image, you gotta do it a little differently
"fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
then
"fastboot flash recovery2 recovery2.img"
make sure they're both in the same folder and that you open up a cmd prompt in that folder (shift + right click, then "open command prompt here"

Ok successfully removed twrp and stock recovery is there..... I have tried to enter Huawei erecovery to download latest version and recovery but i get this error after its connected to the wifi, getting package info from server..... Getting package info failed? How do I update the phone?
That's because there's no stock ROMs on the Huawei server for the BND-L24. You have to be a little bit patient for the release.
Sidenote: If you are willing to assist. Can you do myself and a few others on this forum a favour by kindly doing a full backup of your L24 and share for the benefit of us who bricked ours. Would greatly appreciate it

Profit!

Well if you're worried about bricking it then before you start making modifications, be sure to have the latest msm for it on your PC, and also take a full backup using Orange Fox recovery, and also have the stock boot.img on your PC. And if anything goes wrong just flash the stock boot.img. And if that doesn't fix it then restore the backup, and if that still doesn't work then you'll have to do a complete restore using a msm tool

You did flash unmodified boot.img before trying to update? Well, honestly idk why it won't install. Maybe you should try a different method of installing the update, like manually installing it
