US996 - Unconnected BT causing packet loss in wifi - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I have had my US996 v20 for a couple months now and noticed that websites and apps were having trouble loading pages. I was able to verify via terminal editor and ping that I am losing somewhere between 6 - 20% packets, this happens on multiple different wifi networks.
Today I decided to try disabling the BT and see if that had any effect. To my surprise I stopped dropping any packets. Is this a known issue with this phone? My BT wasn't connected to any device so I don't think the BT radio should be communicating with anything.

I narrowed it down to the bluetooth OBD reader in my car. I'm still not sure why it was causing wifi issues but since it was always powered even when the car was off, and most of my day I'm within range of my car, it was causing the wifi issues almost all the time. When I unplugged it, suddenly I stopped seeing high packet loss.

Wierd 8525 GPRS connection issue?

I don't know what is going on specifically but I need to confirm whether this is a cell tower issue or a device issue.
Before replacing my 8525 to another one, the 8525 had no issue connecting at work GPRS/UMTS (well G, at least). I would use AIM throughout the day and have no issues whatsover. Now when I got the new device, after having it at work for one day (and working) the past few days, the connection would say it's connecting but then disconnects, then tries to connect again and then disconnects. It just keeps doing that till it finally tells me, Error in connecting (dismiss or hide). If I hide/dismiss it, a few minutes later, it goes through the same routine.
I thought it was the device at first (which it still could be) but I decided to go to lunch and BAM, it connected without any issue.
Another wierd anamoly would be where I would tether the phone to my laptop. After a while, the device would say that it got disconnected that it can't dial to the modem, however, my laptop would still be connected without any interruption?
HUH?
Is there anything on the device that needs to be configured correctly?
Same here
I get the same problem up in a small town in WI. I beleive it to be a connection issue with that tower, as I don't have any problems in IL or around larger cities.

Yes, after going through 3 cing reps, finally someone who knows how to utilize the system and find out that there is an issue in the area regarding data transfers. After raising the issue with them and the cing rep figuring what was going on, he raised it to the proper people and had it fixed within a few hours.

8525 freezes after loosing the weak WiFi signal several times

Hi all,
I'm facing a weird WiFi problem which seems to be different from the ones that have been discussed before and referenced in the FAQ.
Specifically, when I just turn the WiFi on, I can connect to the network (WPA2-TKIP secured), authenticate and browse Web sites etc. There are no problems with the proxy, unavailability of WAP2 in the drop-down box - within first minute or two after turning the WiFi on, everything works as expected.
Hovewer, the signal strength is unstable, and once the signal dies a couple of times, the 8525 freezes: the backlight instantly goes off even if the device is AC-powered, and the device stops responding to anything except Soft Reset.
It should also be mentioned that my WiFi is configured for best performance, not the battery saving mode.
I was suspecting it was a hardware problem, so I hooked up my 8525 to my notebook over WiFi at home, using WEP security. I was hoping that if it was for the broken WiFi hardware, I'd observe the same freezing effect. Still, the WiFi worked just normally. I must admit I didn't intentionally emulate the loss of signal (should test it as well), but with nominal signal strength there were no problems at all!
So does anyone have an idea what could be the reason of 8525 freezing after loosing the WiFi connection? I know there are issues when WiFi is left turned on in standby mode, but, as I've said, in my case the 8525 freezes even if it's on AC power and is being actively used. I've also noticed that sliding the 8525 to access the keyboard somehow increases the probability of freezing, especially when the device is on battery power.
My OS ROM is wm6premium.v2, perhaps there are known WiFi problems with this ROM? Also, the Phone is HardSPL'd and SIM/CID unlocked. Please help, as except for this weird WiFi problem, I'm totally satisfied with my 8525.

[Update]Bluetooth Issue, freeze my TAB

hi
Im running the stock JK6 and rooted.
when Im running e.g. the liveview app my phone keeps some kind of freezing after a few minutes, first I tought it is app related but now I revieved my OBD2 scanner for my car and its just the same with the app "torque".
is this a hardware related problem or something wrong with this ROM.
did a HR several times and reflashed the ROM.
Edit: I noticed when bluetooth recieve or send data I cant get any other wireless date like on wifi or on radio.
please help
Seems to be a one time event with the data problem but the main thing keeps annoing me
Have you tried pulling the battery waiting 60 seconds placing the battery back in the phone and then rebooting?
Eh no cause on the galaxy tab the battery cant be removed

I don't Know, but if you have a Bluetooth PAN connection to the internet, then it should be not possible to have another connection to the internet. IP routing to the gateway would be confused if you could.
There are tools that "group" several separate internet connections into one virtual one.
no Im not using a bt PAN to connect the inet, only normal bluetooth data usage

Just only me who is facing this annoing problem?
Same problem with OBD2 :s disable GPS reduc freeze loop. But not fully (30 minutes). Next time i will turn off Data conection.
Every time i've freeze now i see torque try reconnect to OBD2, seem like BT of SGT turned off or time out
I am having the same problem. As long as I have bluetooth turned on, it will hang the Tab within 30 min. All bluetooth connections are definitely gone. Turning off the bluetooth won't help. The only way is to reboot and never turn bluetooth on.
BTW, I have tried connecting LiveView or a normal bluetooth headset. Both cause the same problem.
I am on JK2.
It seems it is bluetooth driver conflicting with any other data connections.
Did a further testing. Disabled Wifi, but doing data communication via 3G network while turning bluetooth on. The tab hangs in a few minutes. Found a process called 'btld' sucking up all the CPU circle.
Any ideas what 'btld' is?
Thought this should not be a hardware problem because bluetooth works fine when all data connections are off and Wifi/3G data works fine when bluetooth is off. It must be some sort of default setting isn't correct. If this is the case, then root would be a must before manually tuning any parameters.
Found root cause. It is actually the SonyEricsson LiveView software causing troubles. After removing, everything goes well.
Checked on SonyEricsson's web site, it seems Froyo is yet to be supported.
try to use WO Webcam B-Lite out of market, you can open a bt connection by pressing activate and then while running, close via taskmanager, voila the freeze begun
I've got galaxy Tab and galaxy S, and torque badly freezes the devices almost every time I exit the application. It cannot be an hardware fault since I use lot of bluetooth devices and always 3g connected, never had issues. Just with torque, and I don't have any "sony liveview" thing.
Reading on the comments of Torque it seems that also other devices have the same freeze issue (especially a phone called "Evo 4G"). Many months ago I sent a mail to the developer explaining the bug but he bumped me away replying that the app is tested and working on GalaxyTab (and obviously it's not true, or he did some mistake in testing). Now lots of people with this Evo 4G are complaining and the developer is trying to fix. let's hope..

[Q] Battery drains when connected to certain WiFi network

I'm having a problem that has persisted across my last 2 devices, my previous Nexus 4 and my current Note 3. When connected to wifi at work, my phone will not sleep and is manifested by "Android OS" awake time show up in the battery information. Today I did a test, 1 hour with wifi on and 1 hour with wifi off. For the hour wifi was on, Android OS kept the device awake for 47 minutes. For the hour wifi was off, Android OS kept the device awake for only 2 minutes.
From my research there seem to be two possibilities:
1) A wireless router problem--outdated, incorrect settings, etc.
2) High volume of data that is broadcast to all devices across the network--something on the network is repeatedly pushing data out to my phone and waking it up.
I've ruled out an issue with the phone or an issue with a particular app, as this problem only manifests itself on this particular wifi network.
Unfortunately, since it's the work wifi network, I don't have access to router settings, hardware, etc.
Does anybody have any ideas how to remedy this or am I just going to have to avoid connecting to wifi at work?

Audio Path keeps resetting to Speakers when connected or disconnected to Wi-Fi

Requisite "I did the search clause": So I did a google search for Audio Path, and audio path resetting when connecting to Wi-Fi, and I'm getting hopelessly unhelpful results. So I'm coming here in the hopes that someone has seen this before.
Hi all!
So I have a strange, and WILDLY annoying issue. You know how there's that "audio path" drop down in the navbar pull down? The moment I saw that, I was so excited. Unfortunately, it's become a major hassle.
Here's the scenario:
So I have my LG Bluetooth headset, or my car stereo, connected to my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Snapdragon, from T-Mobile. If the device automatically connects or disconnects from a Wi-Fi AP, the phone immediately switches to the speakers in the phone. It doesn't actually disconnect from the bluetooth device, but I have to switch it back to the headset to fix it. The second the wifi connection bounces, it does it again. This happens whether it bounces because I lose signal, get within range of an AP, or manually toggle wifi. If there's nothing connected, and I toggle wifi, nothing happens. It's as if the action of connecting to a wifi access point or disconnecting is causing the issue. I'm literally having my phone suddenly blare my music at work, (cubicle is in a wifi low coverage zone) and it's driving me nuts.
I did do a factory reset, and it seemed to have fixed it temporarily, but now it's back.
Please tell me one of you has seen this happen and knows a fix? I'm praying you do. Lol.
Having the same issue here and it was hard to find something useful on Google.
I have the Exynos variant of the S7 Edge.
Interesting. It still happens from time to time with me and I have a snapdragon. Here's a question, do you have netflix installed?
