XDA 11 won't Charge

Hi can someone please help, My XDA 11 won't charge, or make any connection in it's dock, can someone tell me where I can get it repaired, Thanks a lot ,
Try taking it to any O2 shop, they have a special device for quick charging the battery without going through the XDA. It happened to mine a while ago i thought the battery was dead so went to get a replacement, but they put my battery in this charging unit and it came back to life :?
re not charging
Hi, thanks for your advice, but I don't think that the problem is with the battery, as i have a spare battery and have charged the battery in the aux/battery charger in the dock so both batterys are fully charged, the problem is with the connector to the mother board at the bottom of my pda, so it won't connect to my computure, Activesync, or charge, but i'll call in to the O2 shop and see what they have to say..... Thanks. :?

Is my Exec faulty?

Hi all, I recently bought a second hand Exec without a battery
I don't want to buy a battery if the unit is faulty (there is a chance) If I plug the charger into the socket all I get is a red light
My question to all you Exec owners is- is this normal or should/will the unit work without the battery present.
Thanks in advance Grez
Hi grez
U need a batery to operate the exec when i take my battery out the same thing happens.
Hope this helps
Hi scotjen1,
To double check, if you remove the main battery and plug the charger in all you get is a red light. The unit will not power on using mains only.
If this is the case I will risk buying a battery.
Thanks for your help.

Atom not charging plssssss help

I have o2 atom and it is not charging at all. When i remove the battery and put it on charging it show the red light of charging and when I turn it on again in actual it has not charged 1% also. When the atom is in on position and I try to charge it then also it does not charge a single percent.
Now the phone is completely dead and if i want to use it I have to charge the battery in a different instrument and put in my device.
The repairing person tells me that there are 14 tracks that are used for charging and activesync which are not responding and that the part has to be changed. I doubt this guy. He says that the part is not available and that he is doing some alteration to charge the battery directly and he says it will not show the red light for charging but the battery will charge in 20 minutes and I should not keep charging for more than 20 minutes as it may be harmful.
Can somebody please help urgently. Should i allow him to do this alteration ? Any other ideas please.
I would not let him do that, no. The easiest and cheapest way for you may be to buy a standalone charger from eBay (desktop charger) with an extra battery, so you use one battery and charge the other. What he's suggesting will of course kill your warranty, and I would fear that it would kill the Atom as well!
Help
My device is also not syncing with my pc. Should i try hard reset. I am asking this because i am worried it might be dead after that .
Please help

[Q] battery bay charging terminal pinout?

Hi guys, does anyone know the order of the pins under the battery cover for charging? my usb port is very close to death but I don't want to pay to get it fixed when i've got my upgrade in less than a month so I figure i'll just adapt a charger to charge via these.
Same here, bad usb port. I have looked everywhere trying to find out what voltage/polarity to apply to each of the 3 contacts under the battery cover, and even tried applying all possible combinations of polarities to the 3 contacts with a low voltage, all to no avail. My best advice to you, which has worked very well for me, is to buy an external battery charger and an extra battery. I got the battery and charger for 16 usd for both from ebay and they work fine. Good luck to you
someone must know the pinout, I mean the phone is so old someone must have played with it successfully.
Well, you can't just put power to the battery directly, it probebly will explode (Li-ion).
You can buy an external charger (look on ebay or phone shops) or fix the power part of the usb port:

[Q] broken micro usb port (direct charging)

hi,
well i managed to snap my charging port inside my hd2 and well, i get nothing when my charger/usb plugged in... im wondering about directly charging the battery whilst being able to use the phone at the same time... ie having the charger contacts on the phone and battery at the same time... wondering if this is possible as i dont want to damage the battery/device...
also what would i need to hook to each contact? i know positive n negative poles but is what the middle contact??
any help with this would b much aprieciated... thanks
luke
p.s i couldnt see anything that would help me in the other forums i looked at
Yuor best bet is to buy a 2nd battery and a battery charger from ebay then use 1 battery whilst the other charges.
Its not to expensive to repair, if thats the only fault
i see ur from england too so do u know any cheap places that can repair this fault? links if possible... thanks
any joy? I found the following two websites but am now weighing up my options.
htcphonerepairs.co.uk/HTC-HD-2/Charger-Port-HD2.html
simtekworld.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=529
I have a similar problem. Don't know how or why but for some reason it suddenly stopped charging on Friday night. £50 to get it fixed is a bit excessive.
I wonder if a battery charger might be a better option?
EDIT: the answer to my own question (so far, at least) is "YES". Bought a cheap charger and battery off ebay and both are working well (touch wood). It's a pain in the butt having to change battery and not being able to charge it in my car but it's also quite useful having 2 batteries.
