Note 4 SM-910V FRP Bypass Help - Verizon Galaxy Note 4 General

Hey guys I will keep this short and sweet. A few months ago my friend brought me this note 4 and asked me to unlock it for him. It took 4 days but I finally did it somehow via odin or debloater not sure. That's my main problem is that I cannot remember exactly how I did it before since it was a few months back. He came back with the phone and said that its locked again, I asked him if he did a software update and he said the phone did one by itself. I know this is a lie because AFAIK you must confirm the update before it is downloaded. Either way now we are here with a locked phone again. Im assuming its the 7.1.1 or whatever so basically I am asking for a little orientation on this matter becuase Ive done this to different phones in so many ways its all starting to run together lol.
I really appreciate any help,

A little help restoring a broken S4

Alright so I managed to break the LCD screen on my Galaxy S4 yesterday. The screen and touchscreen don't work at all. I went to sprint, and they are getting me a new phone. So while that's all set, I told them that my phone was rooted. They said that they didn't mine (They were really cool about the whole thing, the woman working there even asked me my opinion on jailbreaking her iphone!). They just want me to take the root off of it before I go in to trade it in for the new phone.
Here's the thing, since the screen is broken I need to restore the phone with odin (Which I have used before). The phone still works, but the screen won't show anything. But I can not find the stock software for 4.3 anywhere. It's currently running cyanogenmod.
I've spent the past half hour googling how to do this. Can somebody point me in the right direction for the software and how to lock the bootloader over odin?
Thanks so much guys!
Found this on first search.

[Q] arunchaind and s5

I'm having a issue getting my S5 to pair up 100% with my appradio 3 using arunchained. Everything is working but the touch control is not responding. Has anybody successfully gotten their s5 to work? If so any advice thank u

Not going to have touch unless the app developer can find a work around for setting SELinux to permissive or the bootloader gets unlocked and we can change it in the kernel. I went back to my Note ll and gave the wife my GS5 for this very reason.
I am done with Samsung unless something gives with this enterprise **** being forced on everyone. I was really looking forward to the Note llll too and since according to Samsung EVERYONE IN THE ULTRAVERSE :silly: uses their device for work and needs Knox that wont happen. My phone is my phone my work phone is my employers phone, they are not similar and should not be assumed as such.

Cliffs: you are SOL at the moment.and most likely forever on this device.

[Q] Note 3 4.4.4 ROOT Assistance

Okay, let me start my making a few points first.
1. I just had to retype all of this because of the silly Im not a robot thing.
2. I just joined, yes. I was reading without an account but because I needed help I had to make one. I didnt just waltz in with my question and make an account to be lazy.
3. I dont know what Im doing. I know very little about rooting and little about this forum beyond me reading the posts. Please go easy on me if anything I say or ask is dumb, or if Im breaking any rules. And if Im asking in the wrong place, tell me how and where to move it or help me by doing it yourself if you can. I know a lot of you have been here for some time and new people probably annoy you a lot, Im not trying to.
4. I looked EVERYWHERE. I clicked on a million google links, I read the first several pages of this section, and I did a seperate search on this forum and read those first few pages. I wouldnt ask if I hadnt already tried to find out on my own. I couldnt find anything. I didnt want to post here because I know Id probably have to wait for the right answer if one ever even came and I honestly dont like having to be patient. I would have much rather figured it out on my own. So please dont assume Im stupid or lazy.
5. Im not trying to assume you guys are rude and would be rude to me, Im just not sure and I know its annoying to have a forum full of well versed people and have to direct a noob and save them.
Anyways, I have a Verizon Note 3 on 4.4.4. The last 3 digits of my build number/baseband version are NJ6. Let me know if you need any other information, as Im honestly not sure whats relevant. Ive been trying to figure out how to root my phone for days. I havent been able to find anything for my specific phone. I know Ive seen people whove said theyve rooted 4.4.4 but they either didnt have the same device on the same carrier or they didnt say how. I tried Towelroot and Kingo, neither worked. I havent tried CF auto root because I think you have to restore your device or delete everything and I dont want to do that and have it not work. I also have insurance through Verizon so tripping KNOX doesnt concern me. (when you bring in a broken phone they only check for cracks and broken parts, nothing internal, dont even plug it in. Then they overnight you a new/refurbished one and you send yours back with the same packaging. No checking for root or anything.)
Now, I have 3 main questions here.
1. Can I root my phone on 4.4.4? It needs to specifically work for 4.4.4 on Verizon. If yes, please tell me how and provide links/instructions if you can. Remember, KNOX or not, doesnt matter. I dont care if I have to delete everything either, as long as it works.
2. If I restore my phone to factory settings, will it reboot in 4.4.4 still? Or will it return to 4.4.2 like when I bought it? Im kind of doubting it as a lot of people have bricked attempting to downgrade, so I think they wouldnt have downgraded could they have just restored. Also I know the new KNOX keeps the bootloader locked and prevents any older versions, so I would think it wouldnt allow a phone to restore to an older software. But I dont know, otherwise I wouldnt ask.
3. This one is specifically for Verizon. If anyone knows. I have actually planned on taking my phone in and getting a replacement as my usb port has been loose and the connection goes in and out, very stressful when youre almost done with a backup thats taken several hours. But if I were to do this, would the new phone I received arrive with 4.4.2? Or 4.4.4? Or is it up to chance? I know they probably send out refurbished models to make/save money so part of me thinks the phones wouldnt have been created with 4.4.4, and would still have 4.4.2 since the new parts are surrounding an old phone. Then again, Verizon sells some Notes with 4.4.4 now I think so I imagine they might just upgrade the refurbished as well while theyre at it. I dont know.
I have been very frustrated with all of this and help would really brighten up my week. I can live without a rooted phone but I do want it to be rooted and not being sure whether or not I can do it is really irritating. I also dont like waiting if I can help it.
Thank you all, I hope Ive provided enough information!
Welcome! There are a lot of great people on here that can help.
I dont think root is available yet for 4.4.4.
If you are on 4.4.4 and do a factory reset, you will still be on that version.
You might check another USB cable. I have what you describe happen from time to time and it's always been the cable that wears out. If not, you want to do an exchange before messing with root.
No root possible yet. Come back in a few months hopefully we will have it by then
Thank you! I really appreciate it, I honestly wasnt expecting any answers so quickly.
Ive tried a few different cords and its pretty much stayed the same. Its not a big deal because i usually just charge at night, I have a 10000 mAh battery haha. But if it gets worse i probably will take it in, for some reason it actually seems as if its gotten better. I might call and ask which software version is sent out with refurbished phones.
Honestly though i wish they would allow you to downgrade because since the update, ive had even worse service. Right now Im at a friends apartment and i normally dont even get 3g here but for the past two hours Ive had the big no service symbol up there. Luckily he has wifi. My service at home has always been shady as well and it has gotten worse but its not this bad thank god.
Ill just have to check back once in a while until i can root i suppose. But by then 5.0 might even be out, but im not exactly excited about that haha.
But thank you guys, youre awesome!

Unbrick Verizon Note 7 (No matter How Bad)

Hey guys,
I created an account here just to share this fix with you all.
To start, Tuesday morning, I decided to update the note 7 (to the firmware that changes battery color if your device is safe). After finding that my battery is still white, I contacted my Verizon Rep and ordered a replacement. Since the phone should have arrived the very next day (corporate account) I decided to flash my phone using the root methods in this forum... BIG mistake. If anyone can confirm that after updating the note, root is successful, then please share. But in the end what I was left with was a note 7 that wouldn't even accept the verizon firmware flashed through Odin. Smartswitch didn't work either (wouldn't accept my serial) so i was pretty much SOL and out of a phone... Until today.
After one last attempt to fix this as I wait for my replacement to arrive, I was searching on the verizon forums and found an old post from the galaxy s5 on their forum. I downloaded the repair assistant from here * verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-80201/#windows * and put my phone in download mode. After connecting it and selecting REPAIR in the verizon software, the program downloaded the latest firmware and brought my phone right back to factory settings working as good as new. This was the only method that I found to work after several days of frustration.
I hope this helps someone out there. Thank you for reading!
i assume the only option was the most recent firmware?

Correct. The software goes to Verizons servers and downloads the latest firmware. So the annoying "power down now!" pop ups still show when the device is plugged in but it will be replaced soon anyway At least I have a functional phone in case of an emergency until the replacement arrives.
dude you save my life..same exact thing happen to me,but I had already updated my new note with the green battery and when I tried to flash the sprint firmware it failed and brick my phone..i decided to do the update cause people where saying that it did work with the new phone. but i guess i should of waited and not apply the new update.oh well
Glad to hear I helped somebody! Maybe I'll learn to live without root for a little while lol. The phone is still awesome

Okay, this worked for me, so I'm paying it forward because you guys have been tremendously amazing!!
SO, like many people with the PHE Verizon Note 7 , I received the 60% update and unknowingly installed it. Was very unhappy and tried to root my device not knowing that it would semi-brick it. Used the verizon software assistant to repair it and it erased and restored my device back to the point where it prompted me to install the update again. Downloaded package disabler pro apk version 6.3 and turned off auto update in the play store. MANUALLY entered in two file names which I will post below this and.. VOILA!!!! NO MORE UPDATE MESSAGE... EVER!!! This works only for VZW Note 7 as far as I know.
I disabled these two: com.samsung.sdm and com.sec.android.soagent since we are talking about Verizon here. They do vary by carrier.
First one gets rid of the message icon in the notification bar. Second one I guess stops it from coming back. Hope this helps someone!!
THANK YOU!!
You saved me from having to downgrade to an inferior phone. THANK YOU!!!
My wife (whose Note 7 was not rooted) accidentally did the upgrade from PH1 to PHE. Do you supposed we could plug her phone in and use this software to get it to revert back to the stock PH1 firmware? I'm trying to figure out how we can get her phone back to stock, if at all possible.

No. Not possible.
She is stuck on STOCK PHE.. block updates so she doesnt get bumped to the next STOCK upgrade at 60% battery
Hmmm. She now has the update where she's limited to 60% battery. Can't she do like Tmunroe1 above, try and root and use the Verizon software to revert it back? Seems like that would replicate exactly what he did, and ultimately end up back at stock like we want, yeah?
EDIT: Let me clarify. She does not care about root. She just wants her 100% battery back, so I'm interested in knowing if we can plug her phone in and utilize the Verizon Repair Assistant to revert it back to PHE w/ 100% battery.
Possibly

That worked for me. Yeah, I attempted root and bricked it unknowingly (I've rooted phones before but didn't adequately research the versions that wouldn't work. I was rooting for the express purpose of blocking the 60% limitation). But when the Verizon/Samsung repair software went in, it put me back to the version prior to the 60% update. I'm now able to charge to 100% and have blocked further updates using methods described above. Unfortunately, we likely don't have any way of knowing what version the repair tool will put on the phone, as they may or may not have remembered to update it by now. The version the recovery software put on my phone is N930VVRS2APHE. I hope this helps.

SERIOUS lag, bugs after rooting

so i finally decided it was time to root my s7 but I noticed that after finishing the installation process that 1. my phone isnt saving my wifi password so i have to type in my password everytime i get home or disconnect. 2. apps take way too long to install from the playstore . 3. phone lags too much when doing anything on it, launch any app, freezes for 3-4 secs, pressing power or home key to unlock it,2-6 secs to actually unlock takes 3 secs.
i love rooting my phones but for the first time i gotta say that i regret doing it i am not getting any benefits out of this. but i know you guys might have a solution for this so please let me know and if i have to install something put the links or give me the name so that i can look it up. thanks

YOUR issue is the same thread I'm talking about. Look for s7 edge bug fixes root etc. You're welcome. Use the search next time.
Hmm. Not sure why you're experiencing lag. It should be super smooth and super fast! Try flashing CyanogenMod. First, remember to unlock your bootloader though.
Seriously. It sounds like you should have gotten a different phone because if that's what you wanted you chose the wrong one.
Locked bootloader, engineering kernel messes with too much on the phone and it's your only option if you wanted root.
Really now... this has been discussed only about 226,855,195 times within the QC S7 and S7 Edge forums. We all know that root sucks and for some it's better than nothing. Nobody is doing anything because so far nothing can be done that is to include whining about it to Samsung or T-Mobile.
Any other questions?
Yes we get pissy over this because it's literally ALL over the forum. I can't go a single day without reading posts like this and it's like rubbing salt in a wound that won't heal because it keeps happening over and over again. This forum is at least 80% of what you're asking about. Nitroevo is justified in his response to you because we find it hard to believe that it would have taken you less time to post a new thread than it would have been to read a little. Sorry to be blunt about it but it just comes across as being a bit lazy and while some of us have busted our butts to simplify everything for NEW members... along comes someone that has been around for a few years should be capable of doing that for some reason takes it all for granted. So yeah... we get raw about it. Like I said, sorry for the bluntness.
P.S.
And if root means that much to you... seriously, get a different (non-Samsung) phone.
If you still REALLY want Samsung (for whatever reason) then get the Exynos version. That one is capable of a unlocked bootloader which means a heck of a lot more.
(I spent way too much time on this. Way more than I wanted a should have.)
