VOLTE ISSUE - Can this method work? - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

By now, everyone should be fairly aware of the Volte issue that we have on our G5 plus. Just having the 4g connection seems so irritating.
I just wanted to know if this method would work to bring the Volte: What if we deliberately hardbrick our device (you know, just the blinking LED light on the device and no display - I have been there ) and flash the blank albus files that worked as a solution to unbrick your device. What this would mean is that once we hardbrick the device, it would be a totally clean slate. Then, flashing the blank albus files would re-install any Volte commits as well and then the default Volte would work?
This is just a thought. Any developers/SMEs, please verify this.

bro i had already tested that by deliberately hardbricking my potter and restoring using albus blankflash i tried about 8 times no it is not restoring volte.

Volte, damn I can't even get LTE back on Sprint no matter what. I have to get a new phone . Would blank Albus files work for LTE? I never heard of them.

LTE can be brought back... Just flash any latest Oreo ROMs
Then run the following commands
- fastboot erase modemst1
- fastboot erase modemst2
- fastboot reboot

Sandy I've done that a lot. LTE will never stick for me. I get this ! next to it then it goes back to 3g always.

Same problem only 3g

I think i have solution, the "persist" backup of Moto G4, this give me 4G, but imei continue in 0. U need make a backup everything if u have 4G/Imei. Is a dangerous method, but maybe works. Idk
Persist backup in GDrive
Instrucctions:
MAKE A BACKUP MANDATORY
Download the file, unzip and copy to ur phone
Reboot in recovery
Make a backup of anything (logo or anything else)
Go to Advanced -> File Manager
Move the file to TWRP -> [SERIAL NUMBER, ej: ZY22447XXL] -> [Date ej: 2018-02-09--10-51-55]
Back to principal menu, and go to Restore
Now see "persist", select and restore
Reboot and search mobile network, select firts 2G, wait for it to connect, after select 3G and wait for it to connect, and then select 4G and wait.
If you get an error when searching for networks, just restore with the backup you made, or flash Pixel Experience 8.1.0.

I would try this but I don't quite understand. Number 5 has me a little confused. ( Move the file to TWRP -> [SERIAL NUMBER, ej: ZY22447XXL] -> [Date ej: 2018-02-09--10-51-55].

Try restoring this EFS in TWRP. I did it and I have LTE https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KsqY7t7ItEIgE4rvp2nqF7JuhEv2h-JV/view?usp=sharing

As mentioned in previous thread, this backup renders no service. Thank you for your effort though

[SOLVED] No Signal after update with "Wipe All Data"

People
Can someone help me?
It's about a month that i have this issue...
After a flash of Kitkat using the GNQD Tools v2.1.0.1 with the option "Wipe All Data" i've lost the NV RF settings.
WIthout a previous backup i'm now stuck...
Please anyone with a working Gionee E7 32 Gb make a backup of this items and share?
=========================================================================
Solved thanks to user jdgomez001
Read the thread, the qcn file is posted twice
Please... anyone...
HELP ME..... :,-(
I have the same problem. After upgrade firmware my E7 to 4.4.2 (GNQD flasher with option "Wipe all"), i lost my NV settings (include IMEI, MEID, ENS ). If you find backup QCN from our phone (E7, BLU pure XL, etc), please, share it to me...
And if i find this backup, i'll help to you.

HI
I got a BLU Pure XL qcn and now i have GSM, but no 3G/WCDMA.
We need the original Gionee E7 qcn to get all working
If you want download E7.QCN.OK_IMEI-0.qcn the BLU qcn if you want to get GSM/EDGE working for now...
As i said before: "Wipe full data" really wipes...

Ok.
What method you use to restore the QCN backup? QPST QFIL, QPST Software download, EFS professional, or maybe, something other?
QPST 2.7.378
Software Download - > Restore
Thank you! I used QPST newer version (2.7 rel.422), and nothing worked. Try this version...

Try with this version.
In Software Download - Restore when the software is trying to "reset device", reboot it from adb or from the device it self.
Please feedback, my 3G is working now... I believe there was a problem with the SIM card i was using before...
This might be the solution all together.....
1 - Restore the qcn
2 - Restore your IMEI
it should be fine!!
I tested again adn now i got 2G and 3G...
Man, how i'm happy!!!!!
After a month of this finally my 'new' phone is working ok
Congratulation!
What about me - i have a bootloop after restore on 4.2.2 firmware, and "unknown" IMEI, network and other on 4.4.2 firmware... I can restore IMEI, but i have not gsm/umts network signal.
If you get a working phone - can you make a backup memory of your phone (without userdata, system and other your private files) with "Partitions Backup&Restore" (from market) ?
I think my problem - the consequences of my "experiments" with memory...

Try this:
1 - Remove the SIM from the phone
2 - Install kitKat with GNQC 2.1.0.1 using Wipe All Data
3 - Load QCN file and reboot [if your using the first file i shared, delete it and download the new one]
4 - Restore your IMEI using QPST and reboot [i could be necessary repeat this step || the IMEI usually don't stay at the 1st and 2nd attemps]
5 - When on boot you have your IMEI back, insert the SIM card
Sorry bout the file, the first one i shared is from a Blu Pure XL. To work properly on a Gionee its necessary to flash the Blu Modem also...
If you are flashing the phone with GNQC tools, you can check that there's a QCN file on the Firmware folder.
If you load first "Working-QCN-copia.qcn", dont reboot and load next the "WBW8901GI_0301.qcn", now reboot you will fix the boot loop.
The file "E7-GSM.OK_WCDMA.NOK_IMEI-0.qcn" is the BLU file modded to Gionee, so if you load this one you dont need to load anymore qcn files.
Keep feedback me.. We'll solve this
My feedback.
1. Ok. Removed SIM card.
2. There are installed KK 4.4.2 with GNQC 2.1.0.1 with option "Wipe all data"
3. I'm load your last QCN file and reboot.
4. After reboot I have next situation:
- I can't restore my IMEI, because QPST doesn't see my phone. In "Device manager" on PC there is same COM-ports that before load QCN file, but in QPST same COM-port is not active ("No phone"). What is the reason - i don't know.
Can you make a backup NV parameters with EFS professional? You can delete your IMEI in string 550...
I might share that with you, but i just dont see how that will help you....
You still need to set your IMEI on the device...
Making a backup file now... this might take a few minutes..
Meanwhile, have you tried to set your imei with EFS Prof? Has i said before, it might take a few times for the IMEI to stick.
You can also try to set your IMEI with DFS CDMA Tool, that also works!
Please, don't stress up! It wont help! Take a deep and long breath and try to set your IMEI while i backup the NV Items with EFS
Thank you very much!
I fixed it!
I restored my old files modem1st and modem st2. After i'm restored QCN backup (with the help of your file). And, before reboot, was loaded QCN file from firmware (WBW8901GI_0301).
I'm used QPST 2.7 build 402. Only this version, 402, has helped me!
I'm happy!!! Yeeeah!!! Thank you for help!!!

[STEPS] How to Recover from bad IMEI

My problems starts after i flash SlimSaber over the Oxygen OS
Somehow it erase the EFS
Download the package here https://mega.co.nz/#!c0c1lZ7L!ADILW66W-aG0TNcuDzLd13pK6hjcq7omJhPxMiXUjZo
My case : NO WIFI, NO IMEI, AND NO SIGNAL. And on CM11S (install it via fastboot), and rooted + supersu
I did erase the modemst1, modemst2 and the persist. But still it didn't fix it
And i did try to run some command in the TWRP's terminal, but still not fix
What i did :
1. Download the packages
2. Open CMD and type : (Your phone is still on, and on the homescreen)
adb shell
su
setprop sys.usb.config diag,adb
3. Go to Device Manager, and see A0001 on the Other Devices
4. Right click on it and select Update Driver --> Browse blablabla --> Let me pick blablabla --> Show all devices and next --> Have Disk --> Browse --> Now, go to the downloaded Packages, and see Driver --> Select your OS (Win x64 or x86), in my case it's Win x64. Select Select and Install it anyway
5. Now, you'll see it named HTC Modem, now right click on it, but i forgot which tab that i click to see the COMx part..
6. Now, go to QPST folder, and rename QPST 2.7.411.msi to QPST.2.7.411.msi. And now, open Setup.exe
7. Go to Program FIles(x86), open Qualcomm/QPST/bin/QPSTConfig.exe
8. Now, on the QPST App, select Ports tab --> Add New Ports --> Uncheck Show Serial and USB blablabla. Now, your "modem" will shows there. Make sure that it's the same with COMx in the properties --> Ok
9. Now, press Start Clients --> Restore --> Browse the QCN files on the Downloaded Packages files. And press Start
10. After it "stuck" in 100%, unplug your phone and restart it
11. a) If you have Wifi and Signal, you're done !
b) If you still don't have wifi (Like mine) BUT on About Phone --> Status, the signal shows some number of dBm and ASU ;
To Fix the Signal :
1. Flash the modem that included in the Downloaded Packages
2. Now check
To Fix the Wifi :
Well, this one i found it by myself (i think)
1. Some says that you need to flash ColorOS in order to make it work. But since i don't have ColorOS because of slow download speed, i flash the Hydrogen OS instead
2. I don't know why but the Wifi suddenly work
Now, you should be able to use the Wifi and Mobile Data, and you can flash another ROM
Thanks to @rombdeta for providing the steps and the original thread
Press thanks if it helped you
I was one who messed up with my efs partition and went to no wifi no signal no network
Mine that time i followed almost all procedures from xda but no luck finally i came to rombdeta thread but i actually can't understand his procedure properly tried but no luck
Finally went to service center they flashed oxygen os and everything was came back again they gave me back my phone on the same day but expenses from my home town to service center was 1500 rupees what the f....... K( personally i also tried several times oxygen os but don't know it not worked)
If that time u have posted this thread for how to use @rombdeta procedures properly there will be no head ache.....
Thanx for posting it will be helpful to some one

Well, glad I found this thread. I'm going to try these next. I flashed it back to stock in hopes that would fix my problem. But still got a case of the reboots and a shady IMEI. Man.. Why did I not back up my efs!!! Ugh.. So one a good note, this is fixable, right? Or am I gonna have to go ahead and get the OP2? My OP1 is not even a yr old I should be able to get it repaired, right?

Edit:

Set radio band to USA in the testing menu (*#*#4636#*#*) and I can't 2G/3G signal!

They may provide such services. You can fix it yourself (It takes me than 10 minutes), but if you have concerns it's better to do it for someone with experience.
Regards.

I'll visit the service centre first and check if they can fix it. If they can't I'll PM you, because I'll need some help through the process. I couldn't even find how to download the image from Github LOL.

Maybe, but with access to the root. Flashing the original software does not require unlocked bootloader.

I did flash the modem on my old droid maxx without root. It was done using fastboot commands.
If you don't mind losing all your files, I recommend flashing the stock 6.0 completely. Sometimes service center does this too and they don't care about your data assuming you already backed up everything.
Moto X pure edition XT1575 model has same issue

Recovering 2G/3G after Set Radio band to USA in the hidden Testing menu (*#*#INFO#*#*)

SOLVED:Stuck at PIN input, then reboots

Well, I f*cked up.
Fastboot works, I can flash stock rom via Xiaomi Flash. Flashing completes without any problems. A notification about encypting phone shows up, at 3% it jumps to 100% and resumes boot. Now after each boot, phone freezes at "input your sim pin" and reboots. Over and over again. What can I try, please help :

Try to format data in twrp or stock recovery.
If it does not work flash an android 8.0 or Nougat ROM. Do not lock the bootloader.
Let me guess. From Pie to Oreo or Nougat?

will give it a read, it it works, I'll PM you and you'll give me your paypal address. Fair is fair.
can't unlock OEM, because I can't boot up to developer tools. great, just great. will try to fix that first.
if you can boot to fastboot try to flash stock pie 10.0.4.0 with miflash, after that your device should be able to boot, than unlock OEM and bootloader and downgrade to what version you want

I can get to fastboot yeah, but MiFlash tool says that remote oem unlock is not allowed. So I'll probably have to open it up for EDL. Reboot to edl isn't working. Thanks for the advice tho.

i had a problem like yours, but i have flashed stock rom in non EDL mode and everything had start to work apart LTE band missing that i restored with qualcomm's tools
which stock rom have you try to flash? are you downgrading from oreo? bootloop on android one logo after downgrading is a common issue due to ARB (anti rollback protection)

you don't understand.
There are no winners and no loosers.
You are free to donate to anyone you want, but your post boost and encourages a bad attitude.
If people start to solve only paid problems, the spirit of the community will be destroyed.
The problem is with the Pie specific partition table
I write the whole guide from memory, so it can differ a bit.... I skipped some steps ( erasing, reboot, fastboot mode, TWRP loading via fastboot, OEM unlock )
From previous writings I think you can know the skipped steps.
Keep in mind: It is dangerous, you can loose your IMEI ( it will only work again with Pie - or there are some writings at forum how can you manually change it. ).
Steps:
1 - Backup with TWRP (fastboot) efs, persist, modem & make copy to your computer and or to your cloud provider.
2 - Create a new folder in Internal Storage -> TWRP -> BACKUP -> With a new date directory ( the backup already made one, make a new folder, with different date )
3 - Download someone's older TWRP backup from xda (I cheated, I copied the following links ) :
(I'm still a new user, so can't directly write url's )
Mediafire : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2QU5NtC
Mirror: Google Drive : https COLON SLASH SLASH bit.ly SLASH 2UN1DTo
4 - Unpack, and copy EFS to the folder created 2 point
5 - Fastboot TWRP -> Restore EFS
6 - Flash the Official latest firmware from en.miui.com ( If you want to make sure go with EDL mode )
7 - Now, the IMEI & Mac addresses are missing. Don't panic! Download update with System Updates.
8 - When you are on Pie again, restore your first TWRP (fastboot) persist partition
9 - One more System restore
At this time, you will have IMEI & Mac addressees, and hopefully a working phone.
Hope this helps. The same thing happened with me 2 weeks ago. This is how I solves it.
Thank you, I solved it yesterday. Hopefully this post will come in handy for other people!

[Help plz] Mobile radio / WIFI / diag mode broken after modifying NV Item QPST/QXDM

Hey guys,
Here is a story of stupid myself and now i need help with my phone Please enjoy and help if you can. Thanks.
I was trying to unlock LTE bands on EEA mi 9t (BAD DECISION, DON'T DO IT!) following any of those tutorials online, and i broke:
1, mobile network
2, wifi
3, diag mode/port
What i did:
- I have root with Magisk, used "adb shell / su / setprop sys.usb.config diag, adb" to enable diag port.
- Connected QPST and QXDM
- In QXDM's NV browers, i put "17592185995263" in both lines in NV item 06828 LTE_BC_CONFIG without backing up the original value (BAD DECISION, DON'T DO IT!)
- Rebooted the phone, and now mobile network and wifi disconnectes every 5 seconds.
What i have tried to fix this:
1, Reconnect QPST and QXDM, now QPST doesn't read phone's ESN number, and QXDM is saying that i can read/write to any NV items. Basically the diag mode is not communicating correctly anymore.
2, factory reset, no good.
3, recovery flashing, no good
4, fastboot flashing, no good
5, EDL/MiFlash tool flashing, (YES, with an authorized account), including persist partition (modified crclist.txt and etc), NO GOOD
I am here right now. I have done so much research on this topic and nobody has seem to run into this.
I am an embedded engineer and have a little bit android dev experience, and here is what i think based on what i have done and what i have read:
1, the NV items are stored in some location in flash memory, and they are loaded in the boot sequence when the phone boots up. But these NV items are not in persist, modem1 nor modem2 partitions as i have tried. And this block is not flashed by any flashing method, even EDL mode.
2, once the modified NV item (LTE_BC_CONFIG) has been loaded, it cause the firmware/hardware of qualcomm to not function correctly, thus the diag mode/port is not communicating properly to QPST/QXDM.
So I am (still) looking to fix this problem in 2 ways according to my theory above:
1, find the location that stores the NV items and try to revert the LTE_BC_CONFIG part back (but i don't know the original, yet possible to calculate it based on phones spec sheet).
2, find a way to reset the diag mode/port so that it talks to QPST/QXDM again.
Please help if you know anything about this.
Otherwise my phone is just a tablet that does not have internet lol
Thank you in advance!

yea lol Qualcomm's EDL mode flash has no effect
Take it to service center after installing miui .
State that network is fluctuating by itself. I have done something similar on other device without taking backup . Only way is to change the whole motherboard .

worst case, i may need to sell the phone as a internet-less digital famera for scrap money lol

If you need QCN backup for 9T, I got one working. This might restore your original settings after you wipe modemst1&2 and fsg.

This backup I found from a local forum is taken using QPST tool (2.7.477 I remember). It belongs to Xiaomi Mi 9T device. Only one IMEI is working though (the other one is nulled). Why your phone doesn't talk to tools anymore, can't get DIAG mode on?
https://gofile.io/?c=gxTHSm (IMEI of the backup is written in the name. You can search and change using HEX edit method).

They are where the NV items and modem config are located and their backup. Once you purge those partitions, android system will renew it from an inner source. If anything goes wrong, you can always restore those partitions from an image you took previously. I did it numerous times. My bootloader was unlocked and I had TWRP. Those are necessary.
