Slow speed in 4G in oreo - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hi.
I got a very slow speed in 4G with A1 and different speed test apk.
I used the same SIM (TIM - Italian provider - enabled for 4G), in the same place with two different phone
JiayU S3 with Androdi 4.4
Xiaomi Mi A1 with oreo (ROM January 2018)
The result (media) for the etst are
Jiayu S3 - 4G speed test - 70 Mbit Download - 18 Mbit upload
Xiaomi Mi A1 - 4G speed test - 5 Mbit Download - 15 Mbit upload
I already checked that 4G is enabled in A1 and prefered provdier is TIM-
I make also a test via Wi-fi (with a network with 802.11ac router and FTTC 100Mbit) with both phones and the result are more or less identical for both phones (about 70 Mbit download - 20 Mbit upload).
It mean the problem is the mobile 4G module of A1 or Oreo.
What's about it?
No one got a similar problems?

I am also getting this issue. Though I think Mi A1 has slow network issue from the beginning but it has now become worst after the Oreo update. I have 2 other devices Honor 9 Lite and Honor 8 Lite I am getting 6-8mbps speed while on Mi A1 i am getting speed less than 300kbps on Reliance Jio VoLTE network.

Slow speeds via 4G/LTE
Same issue here. I'm getting slow speeds when using speedtest apps via the 4g/LTE connection.
Provider/Location: AT&T / Dallas, TX
Speeds fluctuate between 2mb - 11mb (more on the slow side). Several tests ran in different cities, hours apart with the same results. Others at my location are getting 30mb down constantly while mine are next to nothing. Also put my SIM in another persons phone to make sure I wasn't being capped somehow and speeds were normal (back to 30mb down).
Changing to WiFi gets me a steady 65-70Mb down and 12 up.
This makes me believe that the antenna/radio is losing power/signal. I am not expert here, just making a guess. I just got the phone a few days ago so I don't have a any past data to compare it too.
Anyone know if their is a way you can boost signal to the mobile antenna within the phone? Or any fix for that matter?

Works fine for me, Vodafone Italy.

speed testing on the HD2

Speedtest.net is where I usually test the speed but that does not work on the mobile due to java etc.
My bro has just updated to 'N' Router and 50Meg Broadband with Virginmedia and I wonder how this can be shown on my mobile. Where can I go to test the speed that the HD2 is downloading at so I can compare My Belkin125 MIMO router at 20meg Broadband.
I have done the 'N' Cab update and not convinced that it has really made any difference to the speed of downloads.
TIA
Ricco
Hi, you could try http://www.mobilespeedtest.com/. There's a video of an HD2 test here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRlx3bsp0ho.
DSLreports has a mobile speed test as well.
I get around 600+ kbps with my HTC HD2 on T-Mobile US.
i got 1026 Kbps in Austria with HSPA
For best results you have to choose http://www.mobilespeedtest.com/test/huge.php
Then it will test with 2 MB and you will enjou your full HDPA-Speed
EDIT:
Now im getting around 1565

How the...I get 250-350 on an average...I get full 3G signals and all that...
I live at las vegas.
Update: Oh yay. 101kbps. wow. I'm just above dial-up.
Mobilespeedtest gives values all over the place that reflect more of "where are you living?" than "how fast is my connection?"
I get between 1000 and 2000kbps results on my PC, on a 25Mbps line.
at home via router.. network speed
what download speed do you get?

What browser for speed tests
I've read that speed tests should be done using Internet Explorer. It seems that Opera and Skyfire use their servers and could impact the results. Could someone say if this is truly the case.
dont bother with mobilespeedtest (well unless you live next door to them)
I've run loads of tests from phone and home (v media) and their results are always different and always slow.it reads my ten meg bb as never better than 2 or 3 meg.don't have an alternative though, sorry.

Yeah, every speed test seems to suffer in this area.

certainly for sky fire, yes, they are connecting completely on your behalf.opera is a bit different cos it doesn't always user the proxy(think theres a difference between opera mobile and opera mini, plus turbo mode in the new version...)
course, tethering the comp and running speedtest.net (always been bang on for me) from the comp would work.
In the default Opera version on the T-Mo US HD2 I got around 600 - 700kbps.
In IE through mobile speed tests right after the opera test I got 4762kbps
I'll have to tether it later and see what speedtest.net says lol.

wifi speeds

wondering what wifi connection speeds people are getting on their oneplus 2,
according to ifixit teardown it has a Qualcomm QCA6174 802.11ac Wi-Fi 2x2 so it should have two antennas.
https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/OnePlus+2+Teardown/45352?utm_source=oneplus2teardown&utm_medium=Description&utm_campaign=YouTube
but I am only getting single antenna speeds, same connections speeds as G4 and basically half of the speeds I got with my nexus 6.
I also would like to know oneplus 2 wifi speed. Seems like beside Samsung Galaxy S6 or Note 5, all other smartphone today can only support 802.11ac up to 433Mbps. Hope Oneplus 2 support 2x2 866Mbps.
I am getting half or less the speed I get with my Oneplus One! ! Tested both a few minutes ago, 21mbps on the 2, 68mbps on the OPO. Seriously.
Sent from my ONE A2005 using Tapatalk
Same issue, 1x1 speed @433 instead 866. Pfft.

Awful 5 GHZ WIFI performance? L-29

Hi all,
I am getting only 86 Mbps near my Router, whatever setting I play with. On 2.4 I am getting 65 Mbps.
My 2x2 Ultrabook [Yoga 900], just besides the phone, gets 866 Mbps.
Anyone getting good speeds using the mate 8 or are we all in this together?
My phone has the latest B320 firmware.
I'm getting 210mbps in Normal mode and 180mbps in Intelligent mode.
Hi there
I own a mate 8 also, l29 varriant, my wifi speed is 200mb on a RT-AC1200G+. Curent room is stock b180. My friend who owns a s6 edge took the same speed test from my router and got 400mb+, so i dont know what is up with that but acording to "anandtech.com/show/9878/the-huawei-mate-8-review/9", with the new broadcom chipset ported to this device the speed should be 300+ . I dont know im not a programer but maybe it is limited by the software.
I always seem to get 65mbps on 2.4GHz regardless what speed the AP is. On 5GHz I normally get about 180mbps (this was connecting to an Apple base station)

Le pro 3 wifi ?

Hi.
I am getting 50 to 70 Mbit/s wifi speed with my Le Pro 3 Al.
How come i can't get any faster wifi speed ?
And how fast wifi speed do you get in 2.4 and 5.2 Ghz with your Le Pro 3 ?
90.7 Mbps down and 10.6 Mbps up on my x722 on 5 GHz. Tested with the Amplifi app (for Amplifi routers only). But there are a lot of factors at play when it comes to Internet connectivity. Like the speed testing website or app you're using, as well as your proximity to your router.
My router is about 10 feet away from me. If my router was in the living room (I'm upstairs), I would be at around 30 to 50 Mbps down right now.
Also, add peak times for your ISP to the list of factors. My ISP (Rogers)'s peak times are in the evening. That's when everyone here is streaming Youtube and Netflix in HD. Some ISPs will throttle you during certain times too.
Another factor could be your Mediatek processor and your device's WiFi chipset. When it comes to wireless or LTE, Qualcomm has it down pat. I saw that the Pro3 AI does have MU-MiMO and two-stream WiFi like its Snapdragon counterparts, but I can't find any official specs on it.
Have you tested other Android devices on your WiFi connection? You'll know if it's just your device with those speeds then.

S6 Lite 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi issue

After extensive troubleshooting with my ISP's highest level tech support (I escalated my issue to the highest level) and ultimately swapping my Arris XB6 router/modem with a brand new one with a different chipset, my S6 Lite attains atrocious 2.4 GHz speeds.
Before people lecture me on how I should be using 5 GHz only, the fact is I usually can't because of physical limitations such as concrete walls, congestion, and and distance. What's interesting is how when connected to 5 GHz, speeds are fantastic and mirror other devices including my laptops, mobile devices such as iPhone/iPads, and even a wired ethernet connection to the desktop.
However, things quickly go to **** when using 2.4 GHz. I exchanged my S6 Lite and it's still doing the same. I tested it out in another area using a different AP with a different ISP using only 2.4 GHz and I got the same result.
When using other devices including new or legacy devices, they all kick the S6 Lite's butt in terms of speed. While I can often only achieve 6 -10 Mbps with the Lite, I get close to 70 Mbps on other devices and even with an old Nexus 7 2013 I get close to 40 Mbps, but not with the Samsung - connected to 2.4 GHz.
Using Wi-Fi spectrum analyzers signal strength and speeds are all awesome. I have a signal of around -37 dBm when on either 20 or 40 MHz channel bandwidth. I tend to get slightly faster speeds on my Lite via 20 instead of 40 Mhz. Channels are manually selected as Auto gives the worst possible speeds.
As such, I have come to accept this is Wi-Fi is an issue with the Lite and an not a defect per se. It's engineered this way. My question is though, how and why? Does Samsung use two different radios or "network" cards on the motherboard? And if anything, shouldn't the 5 GHz spectrum suffer before the 2.4 GHz? From past experience using Android TV Boxes, my issues have always typically been when connected to 5 GHz.
