[*] Select Data, system, cache, dalvik cache
[*] Confirm wipe cleanup
[*] Go to the main menu and click "Install"
[*] Install the zip with the firmware, then zip with gapps

Installation Recommendations
Instead of the standard launcher, it is recommended to install Pixel Launcher

SOLVED Yes, you can perfectly but... you can not keep your apps and all because the logo remains turning.

1. BootMenu->custom recovery
2. advanced->wipe Dalvik Cache
3. wipe cache partition
4. install zip
5. reboot
↑ This didn't work for me
I'm about to flash the Purekat v3.0 Rom. I'm now using new experience ROM with Percy cm#2 kernel(on SGY). I want to change to purekat with blackreactor cm version.
These is the step I will perform:
1.boot recovery (cwm)
2.flash kernel
3.reboot recovery
4.Under mounts and storage.
- Format data,system and cache
- Now mount system,data,cache.
5.Wipe data / factory reset
6.Wipe cache partition
7.Flash Rom zip. ( PureKAT 3.0)
8.Reboot system now
Are all of these steps correct?
I want to make sure these steps are correct to prevent any brick. Thanks.:laugh:

A) when you are updating to a new build of same custom ROM, u can continue with 'dirty flash' : clear cache/Dalvik (Don’t WIPE data) » flash the ROM update files/ Add on zips » Clear Cache/Dalvik » Reboot system.
B) A 'clean flash' should be performed when you are changing to a NEW Custom ROM. The sequence: go to TWRP » Wipe / Factory reset » flash custom firmware and kernels(if any) » Flash the new Custom ROM zip files(GAPPs) » Clear Cache/Dalvik » Reboot system.

Alright but don't ROMs usually modify the vendor partition? Also, my problem has already been done.

hey guys i i'll show you the steps to update your havoc rom without loosing data for who did'nt know the method
NOTE :- now this updating process is working with if you install your rom with this method install rom in A partition and twrp installer then select partition B install GAPPS,-Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt-,and MAGISK then reboot.
1. download latest havoc rom from their telegram group. [ https://t.me/Havoc_OS ]
2.download twrp installer
3.reboot to TWRP recovery
4.then go to wipe section then select advanced menu then only tick dalvik/art cache,system,cache ( DO THIS STEP BOTH A/B PARTITION ) [ NOTE:- dont tick on internal storage or data and other options if shows ]
5.now select A partition from reboot menu [ NOTE :- make sure system is mount check in mount section if not then mount it]
6.in install select latest rom from your internal storage
7.then install TWRP installer
8.now select B partition from reboot menu then reboot to recovery [ NOTE :- make sure system is mount check in mount section if not then mount it]
9.install GAPPS, MAGISK and DISABLE DM VERITY ( if bootloop dm verity fix that)= [ NOTE :- gapps only install that what you install first time while installing rom ]
10.now reboot to system
11. DONE you got latest havoc rom without loosing data
