Facing error in Redmi 2 Prime 20140818

I have been facing a problem in my Redmi 2 Prime, whenever i switch data sim from SIM 1 to SIM 2 the signal for both SIM goes off and it shows no Service or No SIM Card, even while it's inserted, tried and working on other phones, I have Jio 4G Sim(Blank SIM) in slot 1 and reliance GSM in Sim 2 and if SIM 1 is selected as data SIM, then it works with 2g Signal, but when switching to SIM 2(for Data) No Service or NO SIM CARD is shown, tried also by removing either of the SIMs from the slots, but if Reliance remain in SIM2 then i face same issue, sometimes it works on removing sims and restarting my device several times previously on MIUI8 global Beta, i have tried:
1. Downgrading to MIUI 7.5.3.0 - same problem faced
2. Installed CM13- resulting in bootloop if SIM 2 is selected for data
3. Mokee 60.1-release - Same problem as in CM13
All other things are working
Do I have to go to service center or is there any solution like custom Kernel
Please reply ASAP as Redmi 2 Prime is my daily driver as of now

Yeah, Happening with me too. Also when I place a call on VoLTE reboot occurs on custom rom and network disappears of both sim in MIUI. IDK why it is hapenning. I have also tried clean flashing stock MIUI using fastboot but it still happens. Any solution will be appreciated!
Try booting up without any sim cards inserted after flashing any custom ROM. Jio SIM functions properly as long as it is selected as the data SIM. Otherwise it creates a lot of problem. As for ROMs, try RR 5.8.3 or AEX 4.0.

It happens with moto g3...i guess other phones face this issue with jio sim...there's no fix for it yet...stick with miui as it only lose network for few seconds instead of rebooting phone...it happens where low network coverage...

Sure. Will try that sometime later. This is my daily driver as of now.

SIMs stopped working.

I bought this phone with MIUI 6 last version after that it upgraded to MIUI7. At first I used 2 SIM cards for some time. Then only one.
Yesterday after I sold the phone having latest MIUI 8 a strange problem came up as the buyer put in both of his SIM cards.
When both of the sim cards are inserted, the phone shows no SIM. If only one SIM card is inserted then the connection works fine. I tried inserting the SIM into the second slot which seems to have the problem and 'no sim' was displayed.
My question is as I never had a repair on my phone, could this be software problem? I've installed fastboot rom 2 times already with the same result. I've done factory reset for just the heck of it even after wiping and installing the fresh MIUI 8.
I used *#*#4636#*#* to try and switch off the radios on both cards, but for some reason 'turn off radio' button is click able but doesn't do anything. It just keep saying 'turn off radio'. Also on the preferred network mode the automatically selected values show 'WCDMA only' for sim one and 'Unknown' for sim two, no matter how many SIM cards I changed. I changed both settings to 'LTE, GSM/WCDMA' many times to no avail. Either the SIM 2 slot seems to be the culprit or the software. Could something like a SIM slot die after it is unused for a long time? And if it's dead why is it choking off SIM1 as well when both are inserted together?
I flashed MIUI 8 on my Redmi 2 Prime and i faced the same problem. If you remove the SD card, both the sims work perfectly. It is the similar to the tech. in Redmi Note 3 or the 3s Prime. They have a hybrid SIM card slot and the phone, when flashed with MIUI 8 assumes that you have a hybrid SIM card slot too, whereas you don't. So, I'm sorry to say this but you'll have to flash MIUI 7 for both the sims to work along with the SD card.
Fastboot rom guys, flash fastboot rom!
http://en.miui.com/thread-126437-1-1.html
Flash miui v7 in fastboot.I had also face this trouble. When I flash miui v7 fastboot everything work properly.
Yup I'm facing this issue on miui 8 it's a software bug... When I enable data connection it shows the indication of data working properly but after some second's the sim turns off like no sim is inserted but net is working properly... Better to switch to miui 7 for a couple of days until the next update.
Hello, Pankaj.Pal9 bhai.
It's a Software problem. Not the Hardware issue. I faced the same problem on my Redmi 2 Prime smartphone after installing the MIUI 8 Global. Faced the same problem in the phone with MIUI 8 but not with the CM13 or Dirty Unicorn Custom ROM. If you are Okay with Custom ROMs, then install CM13 or Dirty Unicorn. Otherwise, just install MIUI7 Fastboot version.
If you ask me, I will say CyanogenMod 13 is the best ROM for Redmi 2 Prime and other Xiaomi Devices. You can get more features in CyanogenMod 13 than MIUI7 or 8. If you are looking for Perfectly Optimized Custom ROM for the device, then the Dirty Unicorn ROM is best.

REDMI 2 Doesn't boot after jio sim insert

I have a redmi 2 8gb variant with model 2014818. I am currently on AOKP MM ROM. I have an Idea sim card as my primary number. I tried putting jio in the second slot and the phone didn't boot. So i swapped their places and my phone didn't boot. Phone shows MI splash and reboots again. The only way that i can get my phone to start is by putting either one of these sims. As soon as a put both, my phone does not start again. What should I do? Should I try another ROM and edit this post in the upcoming days or is there any solution to my problem out there?
NOTE:- My phone is Redmi2 and not Redmi 2 Prime.
Same happened with me, try flashing miui fastboot rom, and follow procedure to flash a custom rom.
Read the post by me.Hope, that will help you.

Or try this :-
1)remove both sim. Now insert any other sim than jio in 1sd slot(keep 2nd slot empty) and let it boot(may be there will be some reboot).
2)Now insert jio sim in 1st slot(keep 2nd slot empty) and let it boot.
3)Now insert other sim in 2nd slot(keep 1st slot empty) and let it boot.
4)Now put both sim and let it boot(jio in 1st slot and other sim in 2nd slot).

just remove both of ur sim and insert jio in sim 1 slot...then go to recovery then wipe and factory reset ur rom and reboot it will work for u if not then wipe everything and flash any stable custom rom ..
well..i have a solution... same happened with me

download cm14.1
download cm recovery
download fastboot rom for ur device
flash cm recovery and 14.1 via cm recovery(recommended)

Hi there, You are not alone
I am also Redmi 2 (both 1gb and 2gb ram variant) user. I was using MIUI Kitkat, then switched to Lollipop using fastboot. Later I also used CM14 (Lineage OS - N). Few hours Iater after using it I felt buggy so finally I came back to MIUI 8 (Kitkat).
I also got Baseband unknown error, I will explain how it came and what to do next..
I basically have two Jio sims. so what I did what tried using the mobile (Redmi 2 1GB) with two JIO sims at the same time, I finished the DATA from sim 1 so I tried to swap Mobile DATA from sim 1 to sim 2. And that's it.!!
My Baseband became "UNKNOWN" and phone started to reboot.
How did I fixed this ? :
First of all, I have MIUI Lollipop (LP) Fastboot (FB) Rom as well as MIUI Kitkat (KK) Fastboot Rom (MIUI versions doesn't matter).
Next what I did was, Remove the SIM cards and Memory Card from my phone and Flashed the MIUI LP FB Rom. After successfully getting into MIUI welcome screen, I turned off the phone and again fastbooted it and flashed the MIUI KK rom. Now I dont get Unknown Baseband Error, If suppose you are a Jio user.! For your kind information use the JIO sim only on Sim 1 slot and also do not use two JIO sims like me. Redmi OS hasn't got developed much to switch sims with 4G higher band LTE simultaneously . If you need you can exchange the JIO sims manually by removing the previous sim from Slot 1.
NOTE : I have flashed with "FLASH ALL" option in MiFLash software.
Good luck, I hope my essay like reply will help you.!
ok...let me try this...
If still the problem persists , Here is my Detailed Solution :

Kindly try and tell me, If still the problem persists then I'll give another advanced brief solution.
Cause it needs your mobile to be rooted and also needs PC + few softwares to restore your IMEI (Bandbase) :good:
