SD Card Problem (Apacer 256mb)

SD Card problem with my XDA cannot format (error code 31) anyone know how to fix this, tried storage tools to format it but did not work pls help

Probably this topic should be in a different place, but In some way is connected to my BA.(Im using xplode's WM6). Ok back to problem. So I have 4gb SD card and I can only copy files on it after format. If I want to add sth on a card files became damaged.(I have only one chance to write files if i want to add sth I need to copy all files back on my pc then foramt card and then copy files back on Card). Problem is connected to my BA because when i copy files on a device and from device on my card(by resco explorer) files are ok(i dont need to format card). So where is the problem??

Are you sure you have 4GB SD card and not SDHC? SDHC cards are not supported on BA.

I'm sure. Its weird cause when i copy file from phone memory to storage card files are ok. But whem I'm copying directly from PC to card throug card reader(or wm5torage) files are damaged,unless I make a format but format halps only for one time.

May I know the file system of your SD card?

i had this prob. on my previous card its due to the file format. Beyond 2 gb fat do not works so it goes to fat32 and but these non sdhc card keeps running on fat so this happens. in ideal form the 4gb sd should be 4gb sdhc to work properly.
this causes me to switch to 2 2gb sd card instead of 1 4gb. I also advice u to take backup regularly because u never know when they stop working properly.

so if its file system problem why my 1gb card i working(fat32 as well as 4gb). That could mean that 4gb card is damaged sp why its workin after format and why I can copy from phone without mistakes? Is there any way to change file system on a card? By windows formating i can only format fat32

SDHC working strange

Hi,
I recently bought a 4GB SDHC card for my Hermes (Josh's V15 WinterRom Light). Everything seemed to work just fine, but after a couple of hours data on the card started to randomly disappear. File explorer shows empty directories. When I insert the card into PC with Linux I can read the data, but the system reports corruption and all the files are read-only.
I tried lowering TransferBlockSize in the registry but this only delayed the data loss. Is there anything else I can do or is this card faulty?

Could be the card, especially if you had another sd card and didn't have this problem. I'd do a backup on PC, format sd card FAT32 again an then restore the info. If it still seems to leach the data away then I'd get the sd card replaced with a new sd card.

Also use a can of compressed air to clean out the sd card slot on your Hermes, may help, may not but it will eliminate a suspect that the sd card reader needs to be cleaned.

I did format the card several times with FAT32. It was only a matter of time for data loss to appear.
Hermes worked fine with 1GB SD card. I did not have any problems using the 4GB SDHC in my laptop but then again maybe it wasn't used frequently enough.

Problems with SD card

I was transfering some filess to my SD card but then I accidentaly pulled it out of my computer. I then had to format it and It started to work after I formatted it and then transfered the files I had on my computer to SD. Then I insterted it to my phone and it didnt want to mount. I then formatted it again and it worked for some time (1 minute) but then stopped working again. I then formatted it again and it phone showed 00 storgae avaivible and total. I then tried it on my comupetr and it was working fine so I rebooted phone into recovery insterted SD card into phone and it mounted fine in recovery so i installed Honor based ROM for U8800 on it and it finished fine but when I powered it up it said that SD is damaged. I then rebooted into recovery and SD wasnt working again.
Is my SD card permanently damaged or is there anything I can do?
I had CM7 installed before I installed Honor based ROM.

You can try read & write and test for bad sectors with a program, like HD Tune.
Pull off a sd card while writting can create permanent damage.
Test the card to know is state.

[Q] [SOLVED] Can't mount SD card

Using latest cm7 nightly.
Was chatting on whatsapp when suddenly my whatsapp force closed and i got a notification saying that "SD Card is safe to remove"
I tried to mount SD card from Settings -> Storage but it doesnt work. I get the same notification again.
I inserted another SD Card and it works fine. This SD Card doesnt work on the other device.
It is an 8 GB Transcend.
I want to avoid formatting as far as possible.
Is there any way to recover from it?

Had to format it.
Actually I partitioned it (512 MB and 256K swap size) and it automatically formats.
But the new problem is. the total space shown now is only 6.8 gigs whereas i have an 8 gig sdcard. Any idea why such problem?

Because u gave the rest to your data and only 6.8 is left for your sd card

I formatted it using SDFormatter and now i got the original capacity.

Aaarghh.. Again i am getting the same error. SD Card is safe to remove.

Weird error. Try minitool?

I formatted SD Card using my olympus camera. And now it works fine.
