Hi all,
so my toddler decided that the toilet is a cozy enviroment for my wifes Redmi 3s.
of course it got soaked. I'm trying to connect the phone to the computer (I dried it, and also opened it) in order to save the toddlers pictures but I'm getting an infinite bootloop on the mi logo screen, I can get to fastboot/recovery for like 5 seconds and then it reboots again. global rom no custom recovery.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

First. I am new here, so please! I really need help!
I have Samsung Grand Prime duos that got dropped on water, but i"ll drop the story. My phone is working but not totally, I can only boot on download mode but not the recovery mode. *My phone is not rooted/custom. I tried changing stock roms and it Passed via Odin. But the real problem is this, it is only working when it is plugged in a charger, but it is not working working, get me? It keeps on rebooting and vibrating while the charging icon keeps on popping up. With a 2 to 3 seconds interval. And it is not charging!
I really need some good help here! Please! :crying::crying:
I think you have to go to Samsung warantly because it look like a hardware problem.

Water + Cellphones are not a good combination.
It sounds like hardware damage. It needs to be taken to a technician for physical repairs.
Hello i have a question regarding my recently water damaged galaxy grand prime (rather not discuss how it got wet) but the top portion of my phone got submerged. I immediately removed the battery and vacuumed out water for a few minutes, tested it to see if it would power on (i know, too soon. So stupid) and to my dismay the camera flashed upon the battery touching the connectors inside the phone so im guessing something shorted there. I proceeded to let it sit in rice for the day but i dont have much patience and was missing using my device with cm12.1 flashed and kept checking it every 4-5 hours or so. So at the end of the day i took it out the bag of rice, powered it on, and everything was functioning as it should, besides a little screen flickering which has disappeared entirely now. But here and there and random times im not using my phone, it will restart and get stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Powered By Android" screen. It wont make it to the boot animation or even go into recovery, but it will boot download mode. So after pulling the battery a dozen times i finally get it to boot again and i go into recovery and try repairing the system with TWRP repair or replace file system option thinking it could probably help. But to this point my phone still restarts by itself and gets stuck on the logo screen here and there and i have to fight it to boot system. Could somebody please help me out here? I hope it isnt a hardware failure and just some software corruption i can fix by factory resetting and re-flashing the rom. Any help is highly appreciated. Oh and i forgot to mention my camera definitely shorted somewhere only the rear works and if i try to switch to front it cant connect. This happens in snapchat and the cameranextmod cyanogen camera. My stock one stopped entirely.
If your phone got submerged, i'm afraid it'll damage the hardware, sorry bro, you'll have to let it go
Hello sirs. The phone accidentally felt in the water (well, ehm, pee tbh). I did everything requested (switched it off, put in rice etc).
It switches on, but it doesnt go past the mi logo. Idk really why.
I never unlocked bootloader before, nor I enabled usb debugging.
Now I tried most of the things i found out on the net:
- mi unlock tool: it stops at 99% after getting permissions. It says to bind account in developer options;
- miflash via normal fastboot: not working, it says done but it lasts 1s, thus it is not working;
- powershell on minimal adb etc: failes since device is locked;
- mi flash with edl mode activated through test points method (shorten the two points with iron stuff while battery is disconnected): it flashes correctly the phone, but i guess something is not right. After flashing, the phone remains black. I then reconnect the battery, switch it on, and it stops, again, on mi logo.
Please help, I dont know what else to do.

I have the same problem with my phone, maybe anyone can help here or at my thread? We both could profit! Any hint appreciated!
hi,
at first after my phone fell into water or more worse things.... i would power it down instantly and remove battery if possible.
no matter if battery is removed or not, i would get some isopropanol at high purity..best over 99%...put the mobile into a bowl and then the isopropanol onto it until mobile is fully covered.
then shake the mobile into the iso for several minutes, so that it can soak everywhere into the phone.
now take the phone out, shake it several times into one direction, to get as much as possible of the iso out of it and let it take possible remains with it.
then lay the phone on a dry surface or if u like, wrap it into a soft and thin cloth and this package into a bag with dry rice.
no matter which method u choose, let it sit there for at least 2 days, to get sure, that every bit of the iso is vaporated and out of the mobile.
then u could try to power it on and see if u are lucky.
with this method i rescued two of my mobiles, one fell into a dirty and cold river over 2 meters deep, the other was with me onto a motorboat trip and before i realised that my phone is in my pocket, i jumped off into water xD
the isopropanol will clean all parts inside the phone and stop the corrosion cause from water and pee.
and it is not electrically conductive, so it cant cause any shortings.
with ur method...just dry the phone and then put it into a bag of rice, u dont stop the corrosion.
hope this helps a bit and sorry for bad english.

If you are trying to unlock the bootloader of phone and its getting stuck at 99%, then wait for a week, because xiaomi takes time to enable the permission. wait for atleast 5 days, and by the time check out at the repair shop if you are covered in warranty.
I am unable to boot up the device. I tried all (power + Vol Up) key combos, not working. Is there anyway to pull data out from the device?

No fastboot or custom recovery. I'm wondering if the *storage* can be pulled out like a hard drive?

Not enough information. What did you do prior to your phone failing to boot? Was there a software mod you installed? What were the symptoms the phone showed the last time it was on? Any problems before it failed to boot like an old battery, misbehaving ROM, poor charging?
Basically, you need to identify (help us identify) the cause of your phone not booting. We cannot find the solution to a problem we don't know the cause of. The problem must first be defined and then we work from there.
All the best.

Prior to the phone failing to boot, the phone kept crashing. I saw the screen turning into *mess* and then the phone shut off by itself. Initially, I was able to boot up the phone after the crash, however the screen would get mess up and shut off again after a few minutes. Eventually, It got harder and harder to turn on the phone until it finally failed to boot (die). At this point, the phone seems dead. When I plug in the charger, there is no response of any kind, just black screen.
At one time, when the phone was on its last legs, I was able to boot into the Recovery mode, the phone seems to stay in that mode without the crash. Unfortunately, I didn't stay long enough in the Recovery mode to confirm this.
The phone was running on Lineage of Android 8. I have been using the phone for two years, the battery is surely weakened but can still last an hour or two for continual Youtube watching. I didn't do any software update after the Lineage Android 8's last nightly build.
Hope you can help and give some pointers. Thanks.

This appears to be hardware failure. The SoC is most probably dead. You should have recovered your data when it was still able to boot. Right now I think it's too late.

I just plugged in the phone. Miraculously, after few minutes, it did come up with the boot screen (with some messy lines), see the attached picture. However, It didn't go beyond the boot screen and recycle again for 2 or 3 times and then no more. I was able to duplicate this recycling situation several times after plugging it to the charger. Also, I was able to push it into the Recovery mode, but it only stay at the boot screen (with lines) and shut off again after few seconds.
What do the messy lines on the boot screen suggest? Is it the battery totally dead? Or, is the charging system faulty that somehow it doesn't have any enough juice to push thru beyond the boot screen and hence shut off?

Yup...This phone is dead. I have seen a similar le pro 3 posted here on XDA with the same streaks along the display. It's definitely a hard brick. No way to get around it that I know of. I'd like to rope @tsongming in on this. He has seen a few dead pro 3's so this is within his expertise.

Sorry bad news.
As twistyplain said, your phone is absolutely fried, and there is no solution.
It's definitely no brick, that is a hardware issue... Most likely shorted solder connections. The same thing happened to two of our X727s, we have one left that still works.
I highly recommend buying a seemingly unbrickable Xiaomi phone. Their budget models are awesome and of course their flagships are awesome. Everyone in my family has Migrated to Xiaomi . I currently have Android 10 working flawlessly.
Thanks for the info. I made a mistake of not backing up the photos from the phone. I'm still hoping for a slim chance and searching that some of the repair shops (in China?) are somehow able to boot up the phone and retrieve the photos for me. Meanwhile, I'll check into Xiaomi.

If you are in China and located in a large city or tech industrial area you should have plenty of shops that repair at the component level.
Your phone could very likely be repaired by a shop that has a hot air rework soldering station with an electron microscope.
We used to have these types of places in the US but they have all gone out business, replaced by board swappers, who charge a lot. I would suspect that you could get it repaired in China for 100 yuan or less.
I worked in Beijing for 3 months, about 18 years ago and these types of places were everywhere.
sorry for my bad english.
Hi, about 1 week ago while I was using the phone with a percentage of batteries higher than 80% it suddenly stopped.
I try to restart but it has entered an absurd loop (the logo comes on and then it turns off) I state that I don't know anything about phones, I have always dealt with PCs and more but never with smartphones.
First I tried to put the phone in fastboot mode and connecting it to the computer I opened ADB but to no avail, it didn't even detect it.
I tried with QFIL (downloaded original fimraware, drivers and all) but even that didn't give me any results. It does not even enter recovery mode. It looks like a soft brick but maybe I'm wrong .... I wouldn't want to throw it away as it was still in perfect condition and use it as a second phone to learn this world too. I hope I have written everything and I hope you can help me... Thanks for reading. Bye.
