using the bazinga kernel that it comes with, using this rom past 3 days, no problems yet, only problem i face is that all cm14 based rom doesnot provide simcard enable/disable switch, which is very much required if you are using jio sim for internet and other network sim for calls, coz when you put both the sims the jio first wont get signal, then you have to turn off other sim and search jio network and select it , then lte u will get then you will turn on the second sim, now you get both sim working,
if you are not using jio then i think no problem

I have been using RR 5.8.0 ROM from mshoaib7 and i haven't found any bug except crackling notification sound (sometime).
You can find the thread here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a6000/development/rom-resurrectionremix-v5-8-0-lenovo-t3508961
And for the crackling notification sound bug,you can solve it with custom kernel from MR.AW
You can find the thread here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-a6000/development/kernel-semar-lenovo-a6000-plus-t3534853
This RR Rom combined with the custom kernel really have good performance and great battery backup :good:

If you not into customization try lineage and try zetsubou kernel.
if you into customization go for rr but its not that stable and snappy, if you use just themeing as customization try nuclea/viper they have oms suppport and try zetsubou kernel for them as well.
my suggestion/rating LOS>Viper=nuclea>RR

No, the bootloader isn't locked..
You can flash TWRP via ADB as well as by flashing the img file through Flashify app or TWRP app (if you're rooted).

we are fortunate enough so, bootoader is not locked
to flash recovery boot into fastboot mode and have usb drivers and ADB installed readily place your phone in fastboot mode and make sure your recover is in the same folder where you have ADB, now press shift and right click select open command window here and type fastboot flash recover name_of_your recovery.img and do make sure your directory or folder name should not have spaces. eg c:\folder name/adb.... is not acceptable it should be c:\folder_name/adb....
if you face any problem feel free to ask or pm
happy flashing!
Thanks for your precious advices.. I will pm you if I get any error..

Yes! Its safe Zetsubou will give you enhanced performance and your battery life i.e S.o.t will decrease. With zetsubou you might get a bit heating issue as its over clocked for performance. I'm using stock for now.

In that case try Cosmic/nuclea and please do not backup data from titanium backup it causes fc and freeze. and clean flash the rom wipe everything but memory card, flash pico gapps (if you want assistant flash nano). And hope you will experience better performance. Lineage recent 3 releases had issues so i also switched and would recommend.

stock for now........
edit: turns out.......i started getting reboots. gonna go with stock until RenderZenith comes out..........updated their thread today saying they were near, with a working version that needs a little more testing.
If you don't want random reboots the only two custom kernels without that issue on OOS Oreo right now are Flash and Blu Spark.
As we all know Viper OS Is Discontinued and Thread is Closed ,there is no proper place to discuss about this ROM.Hence,I created this thread to Discuss About Our Favourite Viper OS.Post will be Updated Often. All usefull stuff is expected to be posted on Main Page.
Reserved For Future Use
Good idea......
Thanks, this rom is still the best, deserves to have its own thread...
If only any new rom would be that smooth... I've said this a lot of times, I can't understand why we have so many (clone) roms but none is as smooth as Viper. Someone said it was due the Snapdragon Boost Framework or something like that... why no more roms with this??
Can anyone can tell me how to fix lineage os system battery drain ?
so guys ,this is the best rom for performace and battery life ?is that true? better that the new oreo roms ?
Anyone know how to enable proximity check before unlock in final version of the rom?

Hai, I have an issue with the video call on volte.Anybody know how to fix,
by the way, It is the best rom for z2 from battery optimization to performance also otg working, volte working just work perfectly for the daily driver.
Is this the correct heliox version ?
Because this version is too having lineage os system battery drain problem
I have read this is the best ROM from various threads and members. I want to flash this ROM as I am rocking my Z2 fully stock. I want to know in detail how does this ROM perform?
What all things to be done or configured to get the best result before hand because setting up the device again takes a lot of time.
What kernel should be used if recommended?
What baseband should be used?
What should be done for getting best camera experience?
Any mods to be applied?
I have used AEX 5.1 and pixel experience they are in beta and needs to be constantly updated as this ROM is discontinued so there will be no updates to worry about.
before android 8.1 based aex and pixel_experience i used android 7.1.2 based AEX 4.6, it was stuttery like when swiping the notification, etc.
I want to flash a stable ROM even though it won't be updated, i want a reliable OS.

Tell me the best rom Out of all ??
Requirement - 8.0 above
Stock ROM are always the best so far
Always a strange question.
Flash and see for yourself.
For my use it is aex + meta kernel
There are YouTube videos about some ROMs, may this helps you to decide what's best for you.
Stock March update
I have used RR, DoT OS, LOS, AEX, Validus, and Bootleggers ROM. I found Bootleggers the most stable and customisable. (I am using it with Meta Phoenix kernel).

Pixel Experience isn't just AOSP with some little customisation, and some Pixel feature?
This is called the Paradox of choice. It is common in the GNU/Linux world with all the Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch, Open Suse and their derivatives.
There is nothing called 'the best'. If a rom satisfies your purpose, then that is the one for you.
I used PixelE, RR, Validus, DotOs, LOS, Crdroid, Cosmic,Bootleggers and AEX...
I think most stable and beautiful; AEX+ProjectK-r kernel
Tried pretty much them all, my favourite is Firehound or AOSP Extended.

Yes, aex and fh are running great with meta kernel and they're
the ROMs with most features which are running stable. Both official, ota and good for daily driver. Flashable Dolby and gcam are working on both roms.
For now aex has the advantage of having ambient gestures. If you config meta kernel the right way you're able to get a great battery life with good performance.
